A great stay. Hotel is huge with comfortable rooms and a comfy bed. Across the road is the markets and also a wide range of restaurants nearby to grab a bite to eat. Multiple train stations are a short walk away and a supermarket nearby is very handy. Can highly recommend!
We spent five nights in Gamma Hotel and it was full of group tours. The car park is full of buses. The lobby was packed day and night. The tour leader would do all the checking in. In contrast we were a group of four friends with some school learned Russian language. We found the reception staff and others to be brusque and off hand. They were not interested in being helpful. They had trouble finding our booking. The rooms were fine but too hot and it was not possible to turn down the heat. Drinking water is dispensed from large coolers on each floor. You need your room key to enter the lift area and to enter your floor. Breakfast in the huge packed dining area had a great range of food on offer but there were bottlenecks of people trying to get food. There are many cafes within Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Delta but some were very slow to serve and usually warned us. Souvenirs are priced competitively. The lady in left luggage is very nice. It's about a five minute walk to Partizanskaya metro station. …
I stayed at the Delta Hotel on 3 occasions over a period of 3 weeks, for 7 nights in total. On every occasion there was an incident of some sort involving staff not speaking English, suggesting that foreigners are not welcome at this place. This place is at the standard of a youth hostel and not a 4 star hotel it claims to be. Luggage room: I had dealings with them on 4 occasions (dropping off and picking up luggage twice). This service is meant to be 24 hours but 3 times out of 4 the door was locked without any sign whatsoever to say what was going on. All the receptionists could say was to wait 10-15 minutes and the attendant shall be back, i.e. he might wake up because where on earth he might have gone at 3.30am. Needless to say, waiting was not an option when I had an early morning flight to catch and I carefully timed my departure. The attendants didn't speak English and lacked the skills to correctly count the number of days in a calendar so the correct fee could be charged. I was also wondering why I was charged at all when the luggage room was supposed to be free if people left luggage there before checking in. I always had an upcoming booking so technically I was before checking in but nobody understood or cared to listen to my point. Safety deposit box: During my first stay, it was locked when I checked in to my room so I had to arrange it to be opened. Not something I expect to be doing in a 4 star hotel. Second time, all good. Third time, the battery was flat meaning sometimes I couldn't operate it at all. I had to call somebody to open it because part of the keypad stopped working. It was then opened using a 6 digit code (which I have seen so now I could open the safe in any of the rooms). Breakfast: Since all my cash and cards were locked away in the faulty safe which I couldn't open, I requested to pay for breakfast upon check out. What was I even thinking?! Quite abruptly I was told, "Money now!" and the hostess started to make a scene. I asked to see her manager which she didn't understand only after using Google translate. Dina the manager had the same awful customer service and language skills and all she could say was "Go to Reception" which I did. Do you think I cannot afford to pay 700 RUB and I will abscond without paying?! Again, these are hostel standards, paying incurred fees at check out is unheard of in this "4 star" "hotel". Housekeeping: Due to the 3 spells of my stay I could compare the standard of housekeeping. During my second stay, there was no chocolate in the room, the water and the toiletries didn't get replenished at all. During my third stay the room was cleaned quite late, at around 5.45pm, just when I wanted to have a shower before going out for dinner (you are having a laugh if you think I wanted to try their inhouse restaurant after my dreadful experience with breakfast). Room: Rooms were upto different standards. One of them had a shower cabin. The other one had a portable radiator because (surprise, surprise) the air con/heating wasn't working.…
This huge hotel have more than 2000 rooms. Rooms are cleaned every day but not really setup up such as drinking water, bath soap, and some small items they didn't provide newly if you stay for more than 1 night. But, overall breakfast is good, public facility is OK, location is just fine near to traditional / souvenir market, supermarket, food restaurant, metro station (underground train) and many more.
There are actually TWO separate hotels. Gamma is 3 stars. Delta is 4 stars. Don't get mixed up. We stay at Delta and find the room to be satisfactory. AC doesn't work too well so we just open the window to let some fresh air in (early autumn). Basic toiletteries so use your own. The best part is that they provide hot/cold water dispenser on every floor. Also an ironing facility if you need one. The included breakfast is quite good. Plenty of choices but menu mainly repeats daily. Some eateries in the hotel building and also in nearby buildings. The Ismailovo market is within walking distance so you can buy some souvenirs. Good photo opt too. Lobby and elevators can be crowded as this hotel caters to tour groups.
