Apart from the somewhat Soviet monolithic style of architecture, this is a truly excellent hotel. The receptionists were super and spoke excellent English, the room was both well equipped and extremely comfortable, and the breakfast likewise excellent. While admittedly not hugely cheap, by Moscow standards it is hardly expensive, and, for a hotel that good and that well situated, worth...

We stayed for three nights at the Arbat Hotel in Moscow. Booking was easy, Visa Support was very quick (2000 rubles). Even a rebooking due to a change of travel date was no problem. Room (Deluxe) was absolutely fine, quite big, bathroom good equipped, showering can cause some flooding though, needs probably more practice. Room had safe, frige, TV. Arbat...

the best part of this hotel is its location. This hotel is located within 5minutes walk from Arbat Street (old) and lot of restaurants, cafes etc are around in this area. Metro station is at the end of Arbat street, after which is Kremlin and red square (30 min walk perhaps). This hotel is expensive but so is moscow. Breakfast...

This is a comfortable and clean hotel located within a couple of blocks to the Arbat pedestrian street. Also nearby is a small convenient store and the Metro station. This hotel does not have the most friendly service staff. The waiters in the restaurant were a bit surly.

Ok...May I diffuse the last review...another reviewer may not have experienced a "real" gypsy cab...like the one legged driver in a broken down Fiat that wanted to take us to the Arbat (!) from the Train station. We took another gypsy who did take us in a Van but way over charged us. He wanted 60$ but we managed to...

I had the most unpleasant experience when I asked the reception to order a taxi to take me to the train station for the express train to the airport. The message was clear: a TAXI to the TRAIN STATION. When the car arrived, it was NOT a TAXI, but a private car (also called "pirate taxi) without a meter. That...

The hotel is located in a nice area, in the Arbat district. Staff is OK (although not everyone speak English) and breakfast too. However the hotel needs to go through some renovation. Everything looks old and the mattress are terrible! I got backache every morning after sleeping on that bed. Prices are very high, but everything in Moscow is... Anyway,...

I have stayed at this hotel several times over the past 4 years on business. Each time I have had an excellent experience, stayed in beautifully renovated rooms and enjoyed the wide range of breakfast offerings. The staff is very professional, competent and helpful. This hotel is primarily a diplomatic and business hotel used by the office of the president...

Staying in Khamovniki

Neighbourhood Profile
Khamovniki
Khamovniki could be considered a city of its own – here it’s possible to find some of Moscow’s most important cultural institutions such as the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, the Novodevichy Convent and Trubetskikh Estate, great sport locations such as Luzhniki stadium and aqua complex, and long and beautiful Luzhniki embankment. Pick your preferred form of transport to explore the area – bicycle or river cruise during the summer and taxi in winter as many of the great places are situated beyond a short walk.
