This hotel used to belong to Alrosa, the important Russian diamond company. It still feels very much like a private company hotel rather than a commercial one. The staff are extremely friendly but not trained to a professional level. Breakfast you fill out your order form and the whole process takes time. Its a bit more efficient if you go...

I've been underwhelmed with experiences with hotels in Moscow, so I wanted to try something a little different. This hotel is small (in terms of number of rooms), with a large open reception area. It also has a nice pool and sauna. The price you pay compares very well with prices of typical chain hotels, but it struck me as...

While the room i was in was large, the decor is very old fashioned (1980s if not before) The worst thing was the charmless staff behind the reception desk. When I checked out, the lady there, Anastasia was actually very sweet. But the 2 young girls I'd dealt with before were surly, rude & unhelpful. For example, when I asked...

Nice hotel, full of charm and an attractive antidote to soulless business travel. I got a big suite on the first floor for the price of a regular room, free Wifi, comfortable big bed and nice views of snow capped 19th century Moscow buildings all around (this was February). Friendly staff too and good value. It's a 30 minute walk...

The hotel is in a central location of the city, I had the Room number 308, a very big room, 10000 RUB / night. Room and bathroom was very clean, the hotel is older and has a charm like an old Russian hotel with big leather chairs in the restaurant and bar. In the room the climatic system can't switch...

This hotel is situed at 1 km at the south of the Kremlin, in a quiet little street. We had a big big room, like a suite and apparently all the 16 rooms are like that: entry with guest Wc, living room, room and bathroom. And 2 balconies The design is typically russian with dark wook everywhere, the bed is...

Small hotel, only 16, rooms in a quiet district of Moscow. Friendly staff with good English. Business lunch is very good value. Excellent room, spacious, well equipped. Overall the prices are very good by Moscow standards, particularly if you can negotiate a better room rate. Stayed here for four nights on a business trip, and enjoyed the stay very much.

The only reason of not putting the hotel 5 star rating is its location, which is convenient enough in terms of distance to subway (5 minutes walk), but the district does not represent anything worth seing or experiencing. I do know some restaurants in this district but they are further away from hotel. It's a good safe district though, .with...

Good hotel. Nice friendly staff. Receptionists are very friendly with excellent English. The Rooms are quite large and are heated well. Ideal for business trips. Only downside: Food in the hotel is a little pricey for the quality and portions.

This is a mini hotel with only 16 rooms, so there was not to crowded, reception was friendly and efficient, rooms are larger than usual and pretty clean. Breakfast was very good (combined small buffet with omelet delivered by a waitress) Located very close to the center but in the very quite district, no disturbing noise during the night, but...

Neighbourhood Profile
It wouldn’t be a mistake to call Pyatnitskaya street the main axis of this neighborhood – turn one direction and you’ll find the Tretyakov Gallery in Lavrushinsky Lane, turn another – a hip Scandinavian restaurant. Old churches now embrace contemporary life with style and grace. Going to Zamoskvorechye is like visiting during the times when it was a medieval Russian quarter, but with a modern twist of 20th century buildings pushing themselves into the 21st century with new businesses opening weekly. Stroll down Pyatnitskaya to taste dozens of global cuisines – from Ukrainian and Georgian to Thai and American.

“Some building work in adjacent building (Oct 2011) looks likely to be ongoing for some time. Best to avoid rooms on this side of the hotel if you are a late riser.”
