After a failed pick up from the train station we arrived late but the welcome was good and apologetic. Room was comfortable but on road side and very noisy especially when rubbish collection occured at 3.00am. Woke us each morning. Breakfast basic but adequate. Suggest...More
I went to Moscow with one week notice and had to find an hotel. Looking through the results from search engines, I only find expensive and not so highly rated hotels until I saw Assembleya. At first, I was a bit skeptic due to the...More
Stayed at Assambleya Nikitskaya in Sept 2013 during a major international exhibition week. All the hotels in Moscow were ridiculously expensive that week. Anything in a decent location that were 3.5 stars and above were more than 300USD a night. So thank god we found...More
We recently stayed one night in Moscow, before beginning a river cruise. The Assambleya Nikitskaya was perfect! Great location, just a few blocks from the Kremlin, shopping and restaurants. Also, close to the Metro which is really the only way to get around in Moscow....More
Stayed for three nights at this hotel in September when we were shown to our room I thought we were being ripped off. Very small for $400 a night and tucked at the back with curtains that were more decorative than functional. However I realised...More
Tverskaya can’t be discovered with just a first glance, the neighborhood is shaped around a long street populated with well-known shops and brands. But it’s more than shopping that makes this place interesting. Take a few steps into the streets running parallel to the main artery to discover the charm just behind the mighty Stalinist style architecture. Comfy European pedestrian streets Bolshaya Dmitrovka or
Stoleshnikov lane are a great place to start. Locals can be found here working, eating, shopping, resting and going to the Bolshoi Theatre in the evening.

We booked on line with Angel-taxi Moscow. They were excellent. English speaking drivers, you get a text message with the drivers name and car details and contact numbers if there is a problem. They also do tours of the city and various museums if you are interested. Regular Russian taxi drivers don\t speak English. Metro is very good for getting around the city and very cheap, but would not recommend it with luggage. Hope this helps.
