I have stayed at Villa Escala twice on business trips, most recently in October 2016. The hotel is small, more like a bed and breakfast. Many of the rooms are furnished with beautiful antiques and the entire hotel is impeccably clean. There is a wonderful sitting area that opens to a lovely back garden. The hotel is run by a...

I stayed for two nights in October. From the minute I arrived I knew this stay would be something special. I arrived from the airport by taxi and the taxi driver didn't have change. Without blinking an eye the owner offered to lay out the fare and I would pay her later. The owners were extremely nice and helpful. Going...

A personal residence converted into a hotel. Not easy for us to find, with the traffic in Cluj and the one way very narrow streets. When we finally found it, the door was locked. We were tired, and that really didn't sit well, we weren't even sure we were in the right place. We understood the rationale, but still... the...

We started by placing a phone call to see if they allowed dogs on premises and we book the room after. We had a nice welcome, we were explained everything by the host about our location, we were helped with the luggage and the room was pleasantly presented to us. A fresh fruit basket was in the room as advertised...

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at this family run hotel which was most enjoyable. We arrived and were shown our rooms by the affable host, Adrian. It seems there was a mis communication about the number of beds we needed but they could not have been more helpful in ushering us out to dinner, with our...

We had a short stay here as part of a longer trip to Romania. Adrian, Claudia and Veronica went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to provide us with information so that we could make the most of our short stay. It's more like staying at your mum's long lost cousin's house than a hotel. (You...
