Detailed Reviews
We stayed at the Rowland House for 2 nights and had a good experience there. Innkeepers were friendly and helpful, but overall, it does not justify the $700/night price we paid. It is a glorified Bed and Breakfast, but without the breakfast. The home is restored beautifully, but the room, while having a great view of Lake Cayuga, was nicely furnished, but small and not $700 a night nice. Small Bathroom but the room had the comfiest bed. The town is in the middle of nowhere with nothing but the inns, their restaurant (which was excellent) and their bar (which was closed due to covid, leaving us to microwave a precooked meal from their general store for dinner (which happened to have been very good food!).All in all, if money is no object then go for it. Otherwise, it was nowhere near worth the premium price.

My husband and I stayed two nights in early October, 2020. Everything about the Inn is special. The decor is gorgeous and every public space is comfortable and welcoming. The amenities and service make this a truly special experience. The innkeeper, Renee, was top notch, always available with information, a glass of wine or smores for the firepit! One of the very best thing about the Inn were all of the gorgeous outdoor spaces. There are lovely areas to sit on the porch, on the lawn, by the lakeside firepit and on the upper deck of the boathouse. Our room had a lovely lake view, was spacious and comfortable. We will be back!

My husband I spent two lovely nights at The Rowland Hose. It is a beautiful property located on Cayuga Lake. We loved relaxing on the porch enjoying the lake view, coffee in the AM and wine and cheese in the afternoon. The Inn is beautifully appointed and very comfortable. Carolyn the Inn keeper was very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and plan to return.

Rented the whole house for a surprise birthday weekend. Fabulous from beginning to end - the rooms, the house, the food, the furnishings, Renee the innkeeper. Cannot recommend enough! Everyone was raving about it.

This is a very special place. Everything inside is so tasteful, well designed with beauty and comfort in mind, and every need you may have is met. Anna is a very special innkeeper. Our rooms were excellent. The back porch is a lovely place for a glass of wine. I loved every minute of being there.

From the moment we drove up to this magically beautiful place and met the most delightful and innkeeper, Renee, we were in heaven, including MacKenzie-Childs heaven. I was like a kid in a candy store with our beautifully appointed MacKenzie-Childs room on the top floor overlooking the lake. I felt like a princess. Very good air conditioning, comfy linens and pillows, very nice toiletries, turn-down service, good coffee and delish breakfast bars. Loved just sitting on the porch with wine and cheese. Lovely, absolutely lovely, with Renee taking excellent care of us.

We wanted a quick getaway for the 4th. We had always heard about the Inns of Aurora. We stayed at Rowland House. It was fantastic! Anna did everything to make our stay wonderful! She even brought my wife’s top to our next destination as it was left in our room!
We will definitely be back!

This was our first trip to Aurora and the Rowland House far and away exceeded our expectations! The Inn is right on Main Street in Aurora and a very easy walk to the two restaurants downtown. Aurora is a charming little lakeside town which is very clean and a pleasure to walk down main street and enjoy the charming little shops.
Cody and Jonathan were excellent hosts. Upon arrival Cody gave us a tour of the Inn along with recommendations for dinner and things to do in the Cayuaga Lake region. She topped it off by serving us wine and cheese on the huge wrap around porch. The room was spacious with a meticulously clean bathroom and a very comfortable bed.
The Inn offers a superb view of the lake and they have Adirondack chairs at lakeside where you can just relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Cody will set up a fire and provide you with s'mores if you so choose. We decided just to sip wine and soak up the view.
On our final night Jonathan was a great host and when we told him we were going to enjoy sitting on the porch before our dinner reservation he promptly served us wine and cheese to enjoy.
Although this was our first time to the Rowland House it will not be our last. This has quickly climbed up the list to one of our favorite places. The only advice I can give to the staff is-don't change a thing!

They are on three floors, but I feel sure you can get rooms beside one another if they are available. My room was on the first floors and my friends were on the second. There was no problem for us. There's also an elevator. I did not see the rooms on the third floor. It's a wonderful place and there are plenty of rooms to meet.
Absolutely! There are three lovely parlors with fireplaces for having coffee or wine. There is also a small bar at the restaurant at the Aurora Inn. Believe me, you will love it!! I can’t think of a nicer spot for a girls’ party.
I rented the whole house with a group of friends and we could have breakfast at the Aurora Inn or Dorie's as part of our stay. I believe there was coffee, tea, and muffins at Rowland House as well. Not sure if this was an opening special offer.
