Hotel's Favourite
Aurora, New York is like a town from a beautiful dream. Wallcourt Hall is a delightful place to stay. This historic building has been beautifully updated for modern comforts, while retaining enough of the original beauty of the architecture and craftsmanship to feel special. Our guest room was very comfortable. I enjoyed being able to see Cayuga Lake from our top floor window. The in-room mini refrigerator was just right for holding drinks and leftovers. The common spaces in the hotel, especially the sofas around the fireplace are cozy and welcoming. The staff and round-the-clock innkeepers went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We also very much appreciated the convenience of being able to walk to the Village Market for snacks and drinks, or to Fargo (the pub) for a meal or a drink. Big umbrellas are thoughtfully provided by the front door for guests. Homemade granola bars, fruit, coffee and tea are offered at breakfast time. Wine, beer, fizzy water and cheese are offered at late afternoon happy hour. Our whole experience in Aurora was excellent.

Margie was a wonderful host and made sure we had everything we needed. The room was fabulous. We stayed on the 3rd floor and just about managed a view of the lake, but the view wasn't as important to us. The room was clean and comfortable. Bedding was luxe and pillows were comfy. The common space was very nice, and if it was bad weather or winter, we would have enjoyed the living room and fireplace, but considering the time of year, we enjoyed all the lake had to offer. Even though we didn't stay in the "main" Inn, we enjoyed all it had to offer. Dinner and brunch at 1833 Restaurant was very nice. Food was good and the view of the lake beautiful. During the day you could help yourself to a kayak or just hang out on the great lawn and enjoy the lake. Everyone was extremely warm, friendly, and helpful. We visited several of the local wineries and drove the 45 minutes to nearby hiking trails. Due to COVID, its advisable to book all meals you want prior to your arrival. We only booked one, and the staff was very good at helping to accommodate us on the other nights, but it would have been ideal for us to book in advance. Also, if you're thinking about doing any of the boat rides, booking in advance is the only way. Aurora is a quaint town. If you're hoping for late nights and lots of action, look elsewhere. If you want to slow down, unplug, and enjoy nature, this is the place.

Spent two nights here on a trip through upstate NY. It is an amazing Inn and property lcated in a picture perfect small upstate town. Located right in town so everything is walkable. It's part of the Inns of Aurora collection of about five inns in town and all look beautiful. Inn was very modern in appearance and style. The rooms were large very clean and well kept. Perhaps one of the nicest Inns we have ever stay at. Well trained and professional staff were very helpful. Jasmine at the front desk especially pleasant and Dale was also very helpful. Breakfast was adequate with coffee, juice, fruit, yogart and very good home made granola bars. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. Would love to know what brand they use. A very nice place to stay if in the area. It's on the expensive side but worth the price. We would definetly stay again if in the area.

We recently stayed at the Wallcourt Hall for 2 nights. It is a beautiful hotel and we enjoyed our stay. The innkeeper was very friendly and informative. This hotel is part of the Inns of Aurora so we had access to the beach on Cayuga Lake (which is just across the street). The weather was perfect for using the paddleboards and kayaks. We had an amazing dinner at the 1833 Kitchen & Bar which is located in the Aurora Inn. Looking forward to a return trip in the future.

Margie met us at front door and was quick to give us all the information we would need. She then proceeded to show us the common areas of the hotel , a well stocked butlers pantry, cozy lounge with a nice fireplace. Then she led us to our room and pointed out all the amenities within. Great Service !! The rooms are very tastefully decorated and the bed was very comfy. Nice touch was a complimentary glass of wine or beer across the road at the main inn. There just happened to be an open house going on at there newest inn located right beside ours as well. Stunningly decorated as well. These inns are true gems and we will be back for sure.

We stayed at Walcott Hall for three nights for our honeymoon. We loved the inn! Our room was spacious with modern decor and a super comfy bed. Great designer toiletries and robes in the room. Room was super quiet at night.
The common areas are beautiful, a fabulous lounge with working fireplace for guests to relax. We enjoyed chatting to the other guests and the inn keepers. Complimentary tea and coffee all day and granola bars in the morning are delicious. There is plenty of parking at the inn. We arrived super late as we travelled from NYC, they were super accommodating and checked us in swiftly at 10pm.
The innkeepers were all super friendly and knowledgeable about the area, they recommended a great wine tour by boat and helped us book it. We also visited the Mackenzie Child’s house - worth a look. Would recommend all the winery’s in the area, 5 samples for around $5.
The facilities at the inns are exceptional. We used bikes to go to the state park, canoed on the lake and used the paddle boards at Aurora Inn - all were included in the price of the room. There is a fitness centre available for all residents of the inns, yoga classes were also available. The inns offer various activities so worth checking the schedule, such as pairing classes and wine tasting.
The locations is beautiful, right near the lake and in the centre of aurora. The only dining options locally are Fargo (bar food) and the Aurora Inn (fine dining). We are at Aurora for breakfast each morning, food was great, as was the service. We are at Fargo twice, again very good and service was friendly and quick.
Thank you so much for an incredible stay. Would highly recommend.

For starters, Rene, the hotelier, concierge, and most personable host of this great old place is warm in her personality and welcoming to every guest.
Walllcourt Hall is rich in history and its renovation is worthy of the beautiful old dame she is.
No expense was spared nor any detail overlooked.
The decor is contemporary and knockout.
Room was comfortable and all one could ask for.
Cannot wait to return for another visit.

We journeyed to Aurora in The Finger Lakes, because of what appeared to be stunning and unusual accommodation. The reality was far more stunning and unusual - a cluster of palaces in a beautiful village on the edge of Lake Cayuga. The “Inns of Aurora” is a collection of stately homes and buildings repurposed into luxury accommodation.
Our “inn”, Wallcourt Hall, was beautifully presented and decorated and hosted by the congenial, friendly and knowledgeable Sean. Our room was large and beautifully decorated, clean and well provided and comfortable for both sleeping and general hanging about.
The public rooms were spacious, comfortable and decorated with stunning modern art.
There were many other services across the inns. I even managed to relax with an art class in the nearby school house!
We will be returning!

The Inns of Aurora are gorgeous. My husband and I have previously stayed at EB Morgan (still my favorite) Rowland; Aurora Inn many times This was my first time at Walcourt Hall.
I booked 3 rooms (4 of my girlfriends shared 2 rooms - all of the other Inns of Aurora have only kings or queens,) and although I was surprised that their rooms were on the lower level, they didn’t seem to mind.
Geri (Innkeeper) was terrific and we had a great time!
My only critique would be the new policy of no longer allowing guests to visit the other Inns, without going on the Walking Tour. Apparently, some guests at one of the other Inns took advantage and “hung out” at EB and Rowland when the entire Inn was secured by a group. (Why not place a sign during those occasions that the Inn is closed for a private party?) If said policy would have been the case on our first visit to the Aurora Inn, we probably would not have stayed at EB or Rowland as the website doesn’t show the beauty of either.
I look forward to staying at Zabriskie House, in 2020!

We spent 4 nights at Wallcourt Hall and had a great time. Margie took great care of us. The room had all the conveniences you'd expect and were well-decorated. The granola bars and coffee in the morning were nice as was the fireplace in the evening. We enjoyed taking our free happy hour drink to the adirondack chairs by the lake. We were able to take advantage of most of the many amenities: the walking tour (Dale was awesome), gym, bikes, kayaks, sunset boat ride (we loved Matt), Aurora Cooks (Patrick was amazing), and both the casual (Fargo) and upscale (1833 Inn) restaurants. Looking forward to returning.
