This hotel is found in the outskirts of Davao City, but located at a walking distance from all the important places downtown like banks, restaurants, convenient stores, etc.

The staff is efficient and accomodating. The hotel lobby is spacious and inviting.

Rooms are quite large, kept clean and cosy. There is aircondition, TV and a fridge. Plumbing is good and housekeeping is also efficient.

Besides the restaurant, you find a poolside grill. The included Breakfast buffet has plenty of choices. In the afternoon, they also have a "meriyenda"-buffet (i.e. tea-time/afternoon-snack).

This hotel is more affordable and better than e.g. the renowned Marco Polo.

The Buffet for breakfast was ok, nothing special. Rooms were fairly clean, but no safe. Furnishings rather old. Lobby makes a nice impression, but the rooms don't live up to that promise. Only smoking area is out by the pool. Restaurant food was plain and uninspired. I'll be trying someplace else when I go back.

Our compadres stayed here one night and we hung out with them most of it. This downtown hotel is not far from San Pedro, Rizal and the government offices. Its on a crowded busy street, but with no lack of places to eat or get a massage nearby. The front desk staff were always very friendly. There is a big lobby area, with sort of an old majestic feel to it with a restaurant. The rates include a double which is P2500 per night, but on weekends they are cheaper.

Rooms are okay and carpeted. This presents special problems as the carpets were not as clean as I would like walking barefoot. The room had a musty smell to it, as if the carpets had been wet then dried. This is a big turn off for me as it means bacteria and anyone with an allergy may have an issue. Once the AC was on for awhile, you could not smell the rug. The rooms are big, but oddly, it has a small TV for such a room and the room that we were in, the TV was not aligned with the bed.

It’s an okay place, but I think for the price, you can do better nearby and pay half as much or even a third as much around the corner for a nice basic clean place.

I visited Davao City with my Mom,sister, and sister-in- law for 4 days. We were booked by the travel agent at this hotel for 3 nights. The room was spacious and clean. The service at the reception was polite and helpful.
Being in one of the rooms at the very end of the corridor I decided to check out the fire exits.I was shocked to find the fire exit door locked and the only window padlocked.
I immediately contacted reception and asked them to unlock the fire exits and threatened them that I will go to Fire department of their city and let them know that the hotel is in breach of a very important law that safeguards the lives of guests like me.
They sent somebody from housekeeping to me to show me how to unlock the fire exit door from the outside by putting my hand through a hole in the door. It was rediculous as who would think of doing that in the case of a fire?
To complicate things even more, I was dismayed to find the landing of the fire exit stairs stacked with 14 double mattresses. I have taken pictures of the stairs and can prove how negligent they been.
The mattresses were gone the next day after I've warned the housekeeping staff of what danger they pose in case of fire. I'm not sure though whether they were removed until I checked out only to be returned when I'm gone.
When checking into a Phil. hotel always check that they comply with fire exit regulations as we know now that this one doesn't.

I stayed at the Grand Men Seng Hotel last year. It was an okay place to stay. Nothing as spectacular as described in tonywinky's review. I just want to point that out. It's the reason why I'm writing my review.

The condition of the room was average, however, the size of the room was pretty big. Aircon didn't work so well during the day time. I was only able to get the room to be cool instead of cold during the day. The free breakfast was nothing to brag about. It's pretty much what you would expect from any average hotel in the Philippines. It's nothing like what you would get from Shangri-La or Discovery Suites (5th floor).

Overall, the Grand men Seng is not a bad place to stay, but it's not as described by tonywinky. I would stay there again if the price is $45 USD or below.

It is always a comfort to be back on a hotel where you can feel you are at "home". Staying on a spacious room and a morning buffet awaiting you every morning proved to be a homey experience. Grand Menseng offers a free shuttle from the airport and back...an offer even a five star hotel in the area cannot give...Look for Girlie an the front desk...she and her staff will give the comfort you need.

We have stayed for one night for my whole family as they are from the province and will attend my cousin's debut.

I commend the hotel for very neat rooms they have. We booked 2 rooms and each could occupy up to 3 beds. The beds were nice and it shows that the hotel really keen in maintaining the cleanliness of the room. The lighting of the room and the ambiance were relaxing and it is really suitable for sleepy guest.

Another thing that amaze me is the bathroom is very clean. I can attest it due to the cleanliness of the water faucet for both the bathroon sink and bathtub. No bad stink and the floor is dry. They have free toiletries included as well. Good job.

Only thing that needs to improve is their wifi connection. Though, each guestroom has an assign wifi routers but it seems the connection is really slow. I hope they could do something on it.

Well. The hotel is good to stay for families or for group of people of 3 to 6 since they have big rooms to accomodate. The hotel is located at the central business district of the city and a walking distance to City Hall. The staffs were friendly and helpful. The rates are not that expensive compare with other hotels. So, its a best deal for me for a luxury hotel stay.

I booked this hotel during the Kadayawan festival in Davao City last August 17 - 25, 2016. The room is huge, with two double bed, very clean and it's right in the heart of the City. Very convenient and walking distance to City Hall, catholic church and shopping strips. The staffs are very courteous and very accommodating. The free breakfast buffet has great and yummy food! I love this hotel and been coming back in this hotel every time I visit Davao City.
