We stayed there for two nights. I stayed in their 3-bed room and 5-bed room. The big room was spacious enough. It was clean and had a decent cable tv. They only have two electric plugs, which was of course not enough for the five of us so it was a good thing that I brought an extension cord.

The room also had nice lighting which you can adjust the brightness or dimness. The light in the bathroom had motion sensor and we were quite surprised about it. It switches off when you close the bathroom door! The bathroom had a decent hot and cold shower and an exhaust fan, but it wasn't super clean. The water in the toilet was yellowish even after flushing it many times. They provide clean microfibre towels, soap bars, and shampoo as well.

The location of the pension house was good because it's along the main road, it's accessible to affordable restaurants, and it's right in front of Gaisano Mall. Along the road where Alta is located, there is also a very cheap canteen called G-Noks where you can have a relatively big fried chicken worth Php22 and add Php6 for a cup of rice. It's that cheap!

Alta also has a Php5 coffee vending machine on its corners and you can refill your water bottles for free. They have this old school water purifier in their mini kitchen beside the lobby. They also have a parking lot on the first floor which can fit i think 8 big cars. The area is not that big though, but they'll make it fit :)))

The establishment has a cheaper rate compared to others. I am not a choosy person and the room was okay for me. The AC is good and the twin room can accommodate upto maybe about 4 persons without additional bed. Friendly reminder, the lights on the bathroom will automatically turns off after a few minutes but it will be back eventually, so no worries about ghosts hanging around the place. What I really liked about this place was its location, having it just in front of Gmall is 👍👍.

You get what you pay for really. It is cheap and it has breakfast included but the rooms are so so. It is enough for travelers like us who just want to rest and clean up after a long day of touring the city. If you are looking for a relaxing accommodation though or you are a bit picky, this pension house is not for you.

An affordable inn for budget travelers.
The rooms with the common bathroom are sleazy enough for me to not try them again. I’d rather pay a few hundred more pesos for the rooms with private bathrooms. Though the price is the same, some rooms are better than others (in terms of cleanliness, ambience, and proximity to the frontdesk). The frontdesk officers seem bored out of their minds.
But if you’re looking for a place to stay in the metro that is super easy on the pocket, then this is for you.

We liked the Alta Pension House so much we changed our plans when we returned to Davao on a second leg of our trip.

We booked online in advance and it was so easy. The room was just fine and I like the water heater on the wall of the shower so I can easily adjust the temperature. The toilet also had a water spray to go paperless if that's your preference. I also liked the fact they had a bucket to wash small things like underwear or T-shirts if needed. Another nice thing about the room is the small refrigerator for keeping things chilled in the room. The AC was fine and the room had chairs and a place to sit if you needed. Great deal.

Affordable hotel but may not be good for everyone due to the limited facilities. The staff was not really friendly except for Dodong. So look for him when you visit the place. If you will staying Davao for a couple of days and you don't have enough bucks, try this place.
