Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A small hotel accessible to Malls. One ride going SM City, one ride going Abreeza., Victoria and Gaisano Mall. Walking distance going San Pedro Church.

The price is worth 1,000 per night which on my part is already expensive. But the room is worth it. Big comfortable bed. Aircondition and with cabled tv. Hot and Cold water plus you can also iron your clothes since there is one provided in the room. There is also a personal refrigerator inside the room and free breakfast.

There are no complimentary soap and shampoo. And the room i got is on the fourth floor you have to take a stair since no elavator. and it seems the room is newly painted since i can still smell the paint. I also notice one of the sliding window can't be locked.

The Hotel is good for a vacation rest.

I recently visited Davao with my girlfriend who has family there.I cannot recommend this hotel more highly I stayed there for a total of four weeks in all, indeed returning twice from short trips to other locations where I hasten to add the hotels were not a patch on the Tin Hat.I stayed on the second floor in room 308 which I recommend highly if it is available,Clean and spacious with excellent air con spacious shower, fridge, 32inch led tv with several English Channels and and a couple of film channels. The bed is very comfortable with four plump pillows, continental quilt and crisp white undersheet. All the staff at the hotel are very friendly and courteous and nothing is too much trouble from a glass of water to hailing a cab.The Tin Hat is a short taxi ride away from the hustle and bustle of City life, taxis are cheap and plentiful. The food is good value for money and freshly cooked, Menu could do with a few more additions for western taste but on the whole is acceptable bearing in mind the hotel is relatively small but still adding the family feel. The price per night includes a free breakfast offering excellent value for money.I will be returning to Davao again this year and will definetley be staying at The Tin Hat as we were well looked after by the staff indeed making friends with several of them who I look forward to seeing again in 2014...

The Tin Hat Boutique Hotel is the perfect place for travelers who are on a budget but who don't want to sacrifice nice amenities and location. The hotel is fairly centrally located within the city and traveling to and from most of the sights is pretty easy. Many of the taxi drivers aren't aware of the hotel, so it is advisable to write down the actual address to give to them, especially if you don't speak Tagalog or Visayan. Most taxi rides won't cost more than around P100 to P150 (US $2.50 to $3). The taxi drivers here in Davao are known for their honesty so you don't have to worry about getting gouged.

The rooms are small but extremely comfortable and modern. There's free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel and cable TV with brand new flat screen TV's. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom and shower were adequate. The water pressure is really good too which, if you've traveled here in the Philippines before, you know can sometimes be a problem even in the best hotels.

The food is OK but the menu isn't that extensive but I'd recommend at least having the free breakfast that comes with the price of the room. Be advised that this is a Muslim owned hotel so there is no pork or alcohol available anywhere inside.

If you book online, you can find single rooms for around P1000 (roughly US $23) a night. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs a great place to stay for a great place. We'll definitely be returning here on our next trip to Davao.

Never in my life have I gone to a place to stay and seen such a disaster in the bathroom. The sink had old dirt, the kind you have to scrub off. The shower had a ball of hair on the wall! The soap holder had hair from someone who shaved previously.
When I called the front desk she said "I will go see". She didn't seem very pleased with it and went ahead and swept the shower. SWEPT. We showered with flip flops on. The cracks in the shower were really dirty and even the showel hoes (where the water comes out) had some kind of mold.
The room's floor was dirty as well. The bed had a pubic hair. Where the TV cable was connected, apparently was previously tapped and it was haging out of the wall.
I stayed there only because a friend payed for me and I disn't want to be rude. But these people need to step it up. I feel so sorry for my friend who payed for this crapy hotel.

This hovel is the kind of place junkies go to die!! It is dirty, dingy, rundown and in a very bad location. We only stayed one night and didn't even bother with the breakfast. Renovations were taking place and that started at 07.00am. The room was small and worn out and the shower was cold water only. I chose to stay here after reading reviews, here on Tripadvisor and I can only assume that the reviews are fake or from people who are friends of the owners as they are nothing but a pack of lies. This would have to be the worst hotel in Davao and I am not exaggerating!! Stay here at your own risk but you have been warned,

Extended my stay here due to the comfort provided by both the staff and the environment. The food is good and the overall atmosphere is relaxing and ambient - which is a welcome relief from the chaotic Philippine streets at times. Would recommend staying here if visiting Davao.

This hotel is a lovely decorated place with comfortable little rooms. Exactly what you look for when spending a few nights in Davao City. Prices are about 1300 Php.
In the centre of the Chinese quarter, it is close to the St Ana wharf, but a good distance from the airport. Taxi drivers do not know it usually, so have the exact address ready when hiring a cab.
The food at the restaurant is so-so, but the staff is very courteous and friendly. Be aware the owner is Muslim, so no alcohol or pork is available.

Dropped by this place to take dinner before my evening cardio exercise..I was amazed with the serving and prices of their food, its generous and affordable. Wait staff are very attentive to my orders. I also observed the owners who are mandating the operations of the hotel and restaurant to see to it that there's smooth flow of transactions.
