I stayed here for 2 nights with my parents. The rooms were clean. Staff were friendly and the rates were affordable. The bathroom though is small and not well lit and the food they served for breakfast were not so good. It was plated breakfast, small servings which made us hungry after just a couple of hours of some touring around the city. No refrigerator / mini bar inside the room. Home Crest is recommended for budget travelers, but if you have extra cash to burn, try other luxury hotels like Marco Polo.

our room, junior suite, was spacious enough for the three of us, w/ my husband & teen aged daughter. the bed & pillows were so comfortable that I didn't have a hard time to fall asleep. it also had a flat screen tv.

Though the bathroom is clean, it becomes messy because of the wash basin. the hotel might want to consider a bigger one, coz even if I was careful in washing my face or even brushing my teeth, water still splashes over, getting the whole bathroom messy. See pictures attached.

One thing I appreciate is in the absence of a bidet, there was "tabo" for us Filipinos...

The staff were generally nice & courteous...

Downside is the limited breakfast choices. I must say that the Filipino breakfast corn beef is not good. You might want to expand the choices for the other meals, so that the guests don't have to come out. Hey, I am a Kapampangan, I can be choosy in terms of menu...

I recently stayed one night at Home Crest. I moved here from another hotel downtown, since I needed to be near the Ecoland bus station for my next-day travel to General Santos City. I booked the Junior Suite by phone, did not encounter any problems. I arrived at the hotel early. The place was fully booked that time, so they told me that I can only check in at 2 PM. They kept my luggage. Not really a bummer, since I can just literally cross the street to the SM City annex, which is just a minute's walk away. It's very convenient for those who need to get groceries or for last-minute shopping.

The Junior suite itself is a fairly large room, with a very comfortable king-size bed and lots of pillows - which I really appreciate. The room is clean, and is quiet, since it is away from the street.

I bathroom is smallish, but has a rainshower installed. My only gripe is that the shower cubicle is half-separated by glass, with no curtains, so the whole bathroom can get wet pretty quickly. They also did not provide any floor mats, which made it a soggy trip from bathroom to bedroom.
There's a large LCD TV with lots of channels, a well-stocked fridge and different glasses and mugs for cold and hot drinks. There's a water dispenser on the hall in every floor. Breakfast is included. It's the simple usual Pinoy breakfast fare. The waiters are friendly, but the coffee shop is quite small and can get filled up quickly.

Overall, the hotel staff are friendly, quick to attend to your questions and needs, and the property is clean. Being next to a mall is a big plus - although far from the airport. But if you need to travel around Mindanao by bus, this hotel is just 3 minutes away by cab.

Room is good its quiet spacious with dining and receiving area.

Location is accessible very close to Sm mall.

Its clean but toilet is not properly clean enough, every time i ask for room make up they never include the shower nor refill the shampoo. Water current is very slow. The electricity always on and off. Staff is okay.
Lobby is quiet smelly because no proper ventilation nor ac, and so dark at night as they always turn off the lights.

Lastly, so strange For all the hotel I’ve been, its weird that they wont let u borrow iron and iron board cause they prefer for you to take their service and pay for it.

My family and I booked two rooms at Home Crest for two nights last month. The hotel, though small, has several positive things going for it, namely: location, friendly staff, good rooms, free wifi and efficient layout. The hotel's location allowed us to use it as a practical base for going around the different sights in Davao. The SM Mall was right across the hotel so last minute "pasalubong" purchases and wide dining options were easy. Rooms were a good size and had what we needed - comfortable beds, wide screen TV, good shower, strong aircon. Plated breakfast was delicious and filling. A spa (separate business) can be found on the ground floor where I enjoyed a very relaxing massage. The hotel had a small but cozy lobby. Front desk staff as well as security guard were friendly and helpful - check-in/check-out was no fuss.

I stayed at Home Crest Residences for three nights in an executive suite, which realistically is only a standard room. This is quite typical of Davao City hotels that regard their rooms as suites even if they are not comprised of multiple rooms, a key feature in a real hotel suite.

Hotel is in a good location, only a stone's throw away from SM City Mall. The room was new and clean, free Wi-Fi facility in the lobby was good, and reception was friendly and efficient. The queen size bed was exceptionally comfortable.

On the downside, toiletries were stocked to a minimal level, no floor/hand towels were provided until housekeeping was asked, coffee/tea sachets were not stocked up, and water in the shower always took so long to heat up, if it gets hot all.

The room had two bedside lamps which both, to my surprise, did not have any bulb. A real nuisance when you read before retiring, only to stand up again to switch off the lights on the wall, just because your bedside lights were non-functional and were merely for display. Just before checking out, there was a heavy downpour and the room was flooded due leakage from the ceiling. This, however, was acted upon promptly.

All in all, it was a good stay although I reckon it is a bit overvalued for what a premium room should offer. Focus on functionality over aesthetics, and attention to detail will go a long way.

We were glad that our travel agency booked us here because it is just beside SM Davao, convenient if we need to buy anything...

The rooms are clean, but the bathroom, uh-oh... there's a weird smell, & our sink is clogged, the bathroom door won't shut close... this can be just in one room.. i dunno... but I'm glad to find out that they have a little bit warm water from the shower... fair enough to fight the cold weather.. ughh...

We left our room for our city tour, & when we came back, our door is unlocked & our keycard not working, which btw stopped working for about 3 times during our stay.. Accdg to the receptionist, door was left unlocked by the cleaner. I don't understand why someone would enter your room with you not there & your belongings still there & will clean it, not unless we hung a 'Please clean, room service' on the door knob' which is why you have those available in the rooms... just those...

other than that service, rooms & the bar on the lobby are all ok...

This review is a little bit late since we've been to Davao last November...We stayed at home crest for 3 days and its our first time in Davao..The Hotels location from Airport is a little bit far in my opinion but its much closer to Malls and Infact the Sm mall is just a stone throw away, just a few meters...and it's nice if you like to shop and eat out..the staffs are very welcoming, very helpful considering we bought a couple of boxes of Pomelo and its very heavy..hehe..the rooms are nice, clean and cozy since we stayed on a family suite and we have free breakfast for our room., we have free wifi access..The only thing we slightly didn't like about with the place is we can hear the noise from the hallway, the bathroom lock is broken and no floor rug in the bathroom of our room.
Home crest is a nice place to stay if your looking for pleasant stay and near a shopping center.. Well be back if we go to Davao in the future..

I got this hotel because of tripadvisor reviews. I agree with most of them. Airport transfer is much better done via taxi. They do provide airport pickup but for 350 per pax per way. Taxi will only cost you not more than 250 pesos per ride. You do the math. Their contact numbers on their website isn't working, they do not reply via email. Best to SMS them. They do reply via SMS for inquiries. Check-in was fast. Rooms are cozy. Only bathroom ammenities are toilet paper and 2 bath soaps and shampoo. No toothbrush etc. Bath towels are provided. Refrigerator has a lock! You can't use it to for storage of outside food/drinks I guess. Drinking water is available along the hallway.

Breakfast was so-so. BEWARE, their extra rice is 30php per cup. Price of a kilo or rice for cooking.

All in all, my stay was ok for the price I paid and the accessibility to SM Davao where you have lots of choices for other activities.

Check-out was smooth, staff were friendly and helpful. Wi-fi is ok as well.

We have stayed in this boutique hotel for four times. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful...you feel recognized and welcomed because they address you by your name. Rooms are pretty cool...the bed, the pillows, bed-side lamps, television, etc...are almost perfectly designed to suit the comfort that you need. The blue hub cafe is just a perfect place (small but cozy) for a short chitchat. I love their cappucino....

I am also a seasoned hotelier and I should know what a good hotel is like. Home Crest is really my "home away from home".

My only comment is to maintain the building well...to attend to the little touch ups. Otherwise, like other boutique hotels, it will fall out of shape at no time.
