I had to stay in Manila for a night before my flight out - a room here was available on Agoda for USD19 so that was it. It's in a back street called Santillan Street - a bit out of the way. I checked in and was shown to my room - a single room with a lockable door, single bed, table and chair - one of five sharing a shower, toilet and sink. What I didn't realise was that the walls extend up only until the final half-metre - and then it's a metal grill. So any light or sound from any other room can be seen or heard in yours! The snoring was ridiculous as were the lights. And when someone woke up and showered at 5am - we were all awake. The room looked a bit like a prison cell! But with an eye-shade, sleeping tablets and ear- plugs, it'd be fine! There's (very weak) wi-fi in rooms but it's stronger in reception and the breakfast (served from 7am -9am) includes sausage, egg, rice and coffee - reasonably good. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. It's a ten minute walk to the greenbelt area of Makati city centre and a metered taxi to airport terminal 1 is Php150. A beer from the cafe area is Php40 per 330ml can.

When looking for a budget accommodation in Makati, this is a good choice. Location is accessible, nearby Pasong Tamo corner Buendia. They have a studio-type room which is away from their main building. It is a condo room in Oriental Place, just along the road of Pasong Tamo corner Herrera St.

The Studio room at 1,600 per night has the usual amenities - kitchenette, small living room with LCD TV, hot & cold shower, and Wifi connection inside the room. It can accommodate 2 persons maximum as the bed is only one (1) double.

Breakfast is not offered in this type as the breakfast is served only at the main building of the pension house, which is at least 5-10 minutes walk.

For entrance/exit, it is accessible thru the condominium entrance facing the Shell gasoline station. A short walk to Waltermart Pasong Tamo and Makati Cinema Square.

I would say thank you amax inn for accommodating me. I gave 4 only because of the staff and room but the common washroom i will give “1” it is incredibly dirty. They should take action to those abuser chinese using female washroom when they are men, aside from that they are smoking in female washroom. That i need to call the front desk 4x to clean and remove the awful smell. They should implement and take action to NO SMOKING POLICY even if they are chinese they should be strict to that, so that the other tenant will not be irritate, upset to use the facilities.

Because we had an awkward layover we were simply looking for a place to sleep, not too pricey and could sleep a family of 3 without booking an additional room. Amax Inn ticked all the boxes.

We booked an airport pickup, pick up was a no show. Rang the hotel and they came and got us.

Our room was very run down and breakfast was not great at all.

Staff were nice.

Certainly wouldn't stay there again, simply because of the state of the hotel. I am sure for the same money we could get something not so run down???? Having said that, they do appear to be building a new hotel adjoining the current one, so you never know.....

The room was big and comfortable. After a day of frolicking in the metro we enjoy coming home to our comfortable beds. Warm shower and soft pillows guaranteed a good rest. The staff were accomodating and even when we got up late we still had breakfast available.

This Inn is nice but a little bit un-organized. There were no issues from booking (discounted through Agoda) up to check in. I just hoped they responded to my early check in request message that was included on my booking, instead I had to call them for confirmation.

The room assiged to us was on the third floor of the 4 storey building, note that there are no elevators so you have to carry your things up the stairs. (Not recommended for families checking in with elderly)

The room itself was clean, we got a Premier Room that included a bath tub. (The only difference from standard room) the bed was firm, no frills. Pillows were okay, no foul smell from linens as well.

The was an LCD TV but had no remote control. What?? We asked for one but we were told that there's none available.

The AC took forever to cool the room, also had a brand that's not known to most people. We still had a good sleep, the comforter was comfortable enough. Lol

Overall 5/10

booked a room for 3 with 3 single beds online via agoda. After few mins agoda called me telling me that the room is not available. Instead they offer a family room with 2 double beds. I said its okay. As long as there are 2 beds.

Ive been working with hospitality industry for 2 years now, so I know what is going on. My friends arrived and were given a standard room with extra mattress. I immediately talked to to the front desk asking what happend to the promise room. She just said “Sira po kasi yung AC” I said, sana sinabi mo sa agoda na sira pala yung room na ibibigay mo. If you just told agoda that there is no room to comfortably accomodate 3pax. Agoda can look for a a different hotel for me. Instead, you just let my friends arrive at the hotel and thinking na okay lang na ibigay sila sa ganung room with that kind of set up.

So kung walang available na room, we will just settle with this type dahil late na, In fact I can call agoda tonight to transfer me to different hotel pero dahil may matanda na kasama we will just accept this kasi wala kaming choice.

Next time, if alam mong hindi available yung room. Sabihin mo agad, because we are expecting what you promise. I will never book or refer this place to anyone.

For the amount, I paid, it was just right. I just needed a place to spend the night as I finished late and needed to come back in early the next day.

The aircon unit was sufficient but a little noisy, not good for people who find it hard sleeping with buzzing sound.

There is an airvent so you can actually hear movements outside the room but what bothered me most was the light in the hallway that comes in thru the vent and provides unnecessary light for sleeping.

Whenever I changed position, the bed would make small movements which caused squeaking sounds on the floor.

I wasn't able to get my free buffet breakfast because I had to leave before breakfast started at 630. I asked if there's an option for packed breakfast but there was none. It would have been great if this service was available even with extra charge for the packaging.

Shower was sufficient, with hot and cold. The bath soap smelled nice.

At night, the street where it is located closes which transforms it to an eating place. I think the food are affordable and within the budget of people who would book in this hotel. I guess it's a win-win. Plus, it is a short walk to public transportation: jeepneys along Pasong Tamo which can take one to MRT Magallanes Station and buses which can take one to Quezon City or to Baclaran.

There's a small flat screen TV in the room but I never got to check if it was working because I checked in very late already and I only had time to sleep.

The room they called studio was really small- only beds, TV, fridge, closet. No table and chairs. Poor breakfast, cockroaches. The room smelled really bad. No upper sheets, only blanket. Pillows are really uncomfortable. For 2000 PHP you can find better place to stay.
