It’s a budget hotel, very competitive price and good location. The room is small and basic but clean. Bathroom nice. Steps from Greenbelt. Staff helpful and hospitable. Ideal for quick visit to Manila

The place is good enough for conventions. The room is business like but there is a need to enhance the internet service. Maybe the lightings too. But overall the room is good enough for a three day stay. Meanwhile, the AIM convention center training function room is excellent. This includes tech facilities and amenities.

The family of my youngest sister came home from Florida for a short vacation. Three days before their flight back, I planned to bring them around Makati and Global City. AIM Conference Center was the right place to stay. We stayed in rooms 905, 906 and 909. The rooms were quite spacious, clean, with 2 big beds. The bathrooms were with clean towels and toiletries. Buddy ref was filled with drinks and complementary bottled drinking water, coffee, creamer and sugar were readily available. Greenbelt is just across and other shopping malls are within a distance. BGC is a few kilometers away and it took us 30mins to reach the place (with no traffic). Parking spaces are available in the basement. Wifi connection was good in room 906, but poor in rooms 905 and 909. One of the personnel called me up after check out informing me that a bag of native cake was left in room 906; such a nice gesture. We were very satisfied with AIM Conference Center.

AIM has no fancy frills BUT clean and has very comfortable beds, and regular housekeeping. We got everything we needed in our room for a short stay in Makati. Banks, shops, grocery, and food options are a plenty. Location is also ideal for a short drive to the airport via Skyway. Definitely, I’d stay here again,

Just be practical and bring toiletries if you have specific needs but AIM Conference Center has their own branded toiletries.

Didn’t really get a warm shower but this did not bother me at all.

I booked into the hotel because of the cost and location. Also since it is attached to a business conference and study center I was expecting something modest and functional so I had no illusions.

The room was worn but serviceable. The bathroom was dank but usable. The furniture was creaky. The aircon was dusty and there was a lot of construction work going on down the street. Nevertheless I felt I could live with this since I was out for most of the day.

My problems began at night. I awoke in the middle of the night because of a strange smell. I thought it was the aircon so I turned it off but the smell - at turns toxic and like cheap perfume kept me awake. I finally got a couple more hours sleep as dawn broke. Despite showering etc I had this strange smell whiffing throughout the day. I realized that this awful, cough-inducing scent had permeated my hair and clothes.

In the late morning I returned to the room to find the attendant cleaning up. He was nice and polite. I looked at his cleaning cart and he had unmarked bottles of industrial strength cleaner and "room freshener". He was spraying the room freshener all over the place - carpet, bed etc. I asked him to stop - he did not understand me and sprayed more. Finally he understood. I realized that this was the source of the scent. I could not determine the chemical composition of the spray because of the unmarked bottle.

That night was even worse. I started to cough, and my nose and throat felt very dry - I kept drinking water but there was some kind of toxicity in the spray that was affecting my oncological tissues (I'm not a doctor but I can certainly tell when something is wrong with my body!). I found it very difficult to sleep - I opened the window since the aircon made my condition worse. However the construction work down the street was a 24 hour operation and although the workmen were not too noisy, they played a radio all night and it drifted way down the street.

I had a night of intermittent sleep. The next morning I felt occasional nausea but more than anything, an overwhelming dryness and a developing cough. Although I had paid some $450 or so for the stay (I think I'd booked in for about a week), I decided that my health and wellbeing was more important. I asked for a refund but because I had pre-booked on the internet, they would not refund, even for health reasons which they did not accept. Actually the registration counter staff and manager are awful people who would prefer to bat you away like a mosquito. The most helpful person in the "hotel" was the doorman/porter who seemed to understand my predicament but of course, as a junior member of staff, could not do anything.

Anyway I bit the bullet and checked into another hotel even though I had about five days left on my booking. I'm sure the AIM gougers rented out my room and made double the amount. However I just put the wasted money down to a learning experience which I am now happy to share with you.

The location may be good but if you value your health, or if you already have some health conditions that could be exacerbated by exposure to toxic or semi-toxic chemicals, then I would advise you to avoid this place like the plague. It is a shameful establishment with uncaring and indifferent management staff. This is made all the more worse because in my experience (I go to Manila once or twice a year) staff and accommodations in upmarket tourist areas like Makati have been generally very good.

By the way, the "swimming pool" is like a fish pond and looked just as murky and dirty. If the toxicity of the room is any kind of guide, I would think twice before venturing into this puddle of "water."

We had expectation, what a mistake. One should come with no preconceived expectations from a place that runs on the AIM brand. The few good points (1) location is the sole great thing about it (2) friendly staff (3) AC works (4) nice firm mattresses (5) safe location.
Now for the longer faults list ; the place seriously in the '70s and needs major upgrading. The towels are threadbare, sheets must have been white once upon a decade ago but NOT white anymore pillows old and lumpy. The furniture and bathroom fixtures shabby and drab. The internet is a joke. One can watch paint dry faster. The TV has many channels but the actual set is of poir quality one needs to sit right in front to see clearly. The restaurant on the 5th flr serves crappy food at a high price. We tried it once for breakfast and swore never again. There are other places (ground flr of the same building) McD across the road and nearby cafes which serve better and cheaper. The shower head needs serious cleaning if not total replacement. Si unless you are desperate, i would say "buyer beware".

I stayed twice at the AIM Conference center twice between November and December 2011. I usually stay at the Somerset Olympia but was forced to stay here since Somerset was full on both occasions.

LOCATION:
The location is heard to beat. The hotel is opposite Greenbelt mall - the biggest and perhaps the best mall in Makati. The mall has plenty of good restaurants catering to all tastes and wallets. Plenty of pubs, bars and night spots within 10 minutes walking distance. For business travelers, most businesses within Makati City will either be walking distance or 10-15 minute cab ride.

EXECUTIVE ROOMS:
1st Stay / Deluxe (executive) Room: Stayed at room 1102 for 12 nights which is a "Deluxe Room". It was relatively clean and newly renovated. Room was centrally airconditioned, which worked well. Bathroom was decent-sized with a clean shower cubicle. Weird part was that the room had a cheap single bed.. but it was still fairly comfirtable. Neat linen.. decent in-room amenities including a mini bar, hot water jug etc. Wifi and wired LAN internet available on this floor. Decent speed.

STANDARD ROOMS:
These rooms are older and tackier. The bathroom was fairly clean but still looked a little dated. The shower worked OK but the water in the shower cubicle wouldn't drain as quickly. Bed and bath linen is inferior compared to the deluxe rooms. There was no wifi on the floor. Just a wired LAN next to the bed which forced you to sit on the bed all the time.. very irritating. Room amenities were more tacky.. Furniture was rickety and all scratched. Poor quality television albeit with a number of channels.

SHOULD YOU STAY HERE?
- The location is what makes this place worth it. If you must stay here, i recommend upgrading to the deluxe / executive or whatever it is that they call it. It is money well spent.
- If you are going to be mostly out the whole day, the sleep quality is fairly good.
- The hotel is safe and convenient.
- Hotel has no swimming pool, no gym and absolutely nothing for families. If you are going to be spending a lot of time in the hotel, then this is most certainly not for you.

We picked this hotel mainly because of the price, roughly USD54 a night, and the location (a stone’s throw from Greenbelt 1) can’t be beat. However, the advantages of this hotel stops right there!

The rooms were tiny which could be excused if it was clean. It was not. The carpets were sticky and in dire need of steam cleaning. It was dirty enough that the soles of your white socks would turn gray. The curtains were grimy and crying for washing. The a/c also smelled musty and made a grinding/grunting noise. Also, the wallpaper was peeling, and the bathrooms had mildew on some of the grout. Overall, this hotel is poorly maintained. I guess I got what I paid for.

If you ignore my warning and decide to stay at this hotel, lower your expectations considerably. If you’re grease-intolerant, do not eat at the 5th floor restaurant. They have no conception of healthy eating. Even an otherwise healthy side dish of vegetables is slathered with grease.

During my passage through the airport immigration in Manila , my Indian visa travel document (PIO) was misplaced by the immigration staff. I realized the card was missing in AIM hotel .
The duty manager was very helpful ( sorry, didn't get her name) in contacting the immigration and making arrangements collecting the document.
To the staff and management of AIM - A BIG THANK YOU.

Stayed for three nights on this hotel and service is good with friendly and accommodating staff. The rooms were clean and quiet. Stewards make sure every room is cleaned everyday and linens were changed. It is situated just a few steps to shopping areas so theres no way on spending another cash for transportation. Foods are everywhere.

Is there a gym? Or does the nearby mall have a gym? Or, is it safe to walk/run in the neighborhood?

Hi, I don't know if there's a gym in hotel or mall. It has an outdoor pool. Yes, it's safe to walk/run in neighborhood.

Sorry about the answer, trip advisor does not allow me to delete the answer which is meant for another property. You will find AIM convenience as a traveller. You need not be a conference user to stay at Aim. Very convenient to go to the green belts and one of the cheapest yet nearest and most convenient one can find. However if you have a few to traveller together, there are apartments around like Somerset that will be economical if cost is divided among 4 pax with 2 bedrooms.
