Stayed here while spending a few days in the Auburn area on business. Motel was immaculately clean and comfortable. Price is very reasonable as well. Have stayed in many much more expensive hotel/motels that had a lot less to offer. Should also mention the shower had very good water pressure (which is a must). Was also impressed by the fact that there are mini-fridges available in all the rooms (as well as microwaves on request). The most important thing to mention is the hospitality of the owners. This is not run like a large chain hotel, the owners are very welcoming and extremely helpful. They went above and beyond for us in an extreme situation.
Would highly recommend this motel.

We spent 4 nights here recently. The motel is clean, clean, clean and the room was quite cute. The bedding was comfortable and linens were changed every day. TV was excellent, coffee maker in room. We called ahead for an iron and board, and it was in our room upon arrival, that was impressive. Conveniently located near all the lakes, half way between Auburn and Skaneateles. The owner was very friendly and helpful. There is a great little restaurant just 10 mins. east on Rte. 20 where we had breakfast every morning and had 2 of our dinners there. We traveled by bike and they were very accommodating to us. It rained one evening and he let us bring the bike up on the sidewalk under the roof, and we appreciated that. Sleepy Hollow fits right into the area, quiet and clean. We would stay again.

Dear Margaret and Dale, it was our sincere pleasure to serve your lodging needs. Our goal's are plain and simple; friendly and welcoming hospitality with efficient service, in a calm, clean, and cordial environment. While we may not always have everything that some people want, we usually can provide what most folks need. We truly appreciate your kind patronage, and will look forward to seeing you again in the near future. Until then, Happy Trails !

We were in the area for a funeral and needed 2 rooms for one night. This was the only place that had vacancy (now I know why) so I was forced to pay $160 per room for this horrible motel! The place was built in the 1960's and has not been touched since! The mattresses were hard, towels scratchy, water ran from both the shower and faucet all night. I had reserved 2 rooms for my family of 5 and couldn't believe that when I filled out the paperwork the owner forced me to pay an additional $20 for more than 4 people!!! When you walk in the room there's a huge list next to the door of all the things you can't do (make noise, keep your lights on too long, etc) with their corresponding fines! We were in a panic the next morning when we got delayed returning from the village that we'd be late for check out time and he'd force us to pay another room night! Clearly NO hospitality whatsoever. We will NEVER stay there again!

Response from Ernest K, Guest Relations Manager at Sleepy Hollow Motel

Dear Julie from Orlando, it seems you may have some of your information contrived here, and you certainly were not "forced" to pay anything; [in fact your card was at first declined while reserving], and you could have paid much more elsewhere as other more expensive place's did in fact have vacancies. Also, You actually under booked your reservations and arrived with more people than originally reserved online; and we certainly do have safety and quality control's in effect but no place at all does anything speak about leaving lights on [that's just another bogus remark]. Additionally, I cannot understand why you were in any kind of panic as you and your family were all relaxing and smoking under the weeping willow tree all morning, and then you took a drive at 10:30am, and of course our check out time is 11:00 am, as you could see that on our "courtesy reminder sign" [put there so you won't incur any unnecessary cost's]. If any water was leaking it was due to you not closing the faucet completely. As far as the bedding that's a matter of opinion as many guest's tell us they have had the best sleep ever ! My best advise to you is to be honest when you make your reservations and maybe you won't be in a panic next time. ~ That being said we are so sorry to hear you won't be returning in the future.

Stayed here one night over September long wkd. Room was very nice and clean. Unlike some hotels, it actually had character. Bed was comfortable, tv good quality, and a nice pull out couch. AC kept room cool, and we kept our food and water in the fridge. Owner was helpful in tips of area and was kind. Was great we could bring our dog too. I usually cringe when I hear "motel", but this was a very pleasant experience. Good price. Couldn't ask for anything more.

A classic American roadside motel. Just like you remember, where you can park right in front of your room, unload your bags at your door. Very friendly and helpful owner / manager. Clean, well maintained beautiful interior that looks like it has been carefully tended to since 1959. If you like classic motels this is one of the best.

My husband and I were looking for a local motel to spend the night while in the Finger Lake region of NY. The Sleepy Hollow Motel was perfect. We enjoy staying in small local motels while traveling and this little place was neat, clean, cozy and comfortable. The wifi was great. The room came with a mini-fridge and coffee maker which we appreciated very much. This motel must be a favorite of professional bass fishermen as the parking lot was filled with some of the most amazing bass boats my husband has ever seen! Apparently we were there during a fishing tournament! These fishermen know how to pick a quiet spot to rest and they also know how to leave very early in the morning with not a sound. We would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Owners are very helpful and friendly. It has a heat and air pump that made the room very comfortable no matter what the temperature outside I use a blanket at night and was given a light warm blanket. It felt so good as we like our room cool at night.
Looking forward to staying there again.

Clean, safe and adorably vintage. Would I have liked to pay less? Well yes, but Sleepy Hollow Motel is a wonderful stop between Auburn and Skaneateles. It doesn't have the luxury items (or stale feel) of big chain hotels, but the wifi, AC, mini-frig, coffee pot & comfortable beds make for a relaxing & refreshing stay.

The Sleepy Hollow Motel was a GREAT find on our recent tour of the Finger Lakes. We wanted to frequent only local proprietors, and are glad we found this one. The room was very clean and neat, but also felt like a "home" atmosphere, unlike the large hotel chains which are clean but completely lacking in character. The proprietors were friendly, professional and accommodating. We will definitely be back!
