The Manor is not only distinguished by its impressive architecture and cozy interiors, but also blessed with an environment that truly sets it apart from other hotels in Baguio City. This four-storey structure, designed to blend neatly with towering pine trees, provides a magnificent view of the Cordillera mountain range. Here, one can literally open windows to cool, fresh air. For a distinct touch, a Baguio stone exterior finish, shingled roofing and tinted glass windows add warm accents to Camp John Hay Manor's cozy, relaxed and luxurious ambiance.

The Manor at Camp John Hay is often celebrated for its exceptional amenities, including clean, spacious rooms and diverse dining options. The inviting atmosphere is frequently described as cozy, contributing to a tranquil connection with nature. While the rooms are generally well-regarded, some guests find the decor outdated and miss the presence of air conditioning. The hotel's cleanliness and service receive high praise, with travelers noting the attentive staff. Nestled in a serene location, the property offers a peaceful retreat, although opinions on the value for money do show some divergence.

The Manor is the perfect accommodation for our return to Baguio after almost 3 years. It is our first time as we never had the luck in the past in booking as it was always fully booked. For this stay, we booked way in advance to be sure. I like that I got a call few days before our stay to confirm, ask for preferences and remind to register in Visita Baguio. I chose Forest Room with balcony because we want to spend time in appreciating the pine trees and it was a good choice. I requested for higher floor but we got a second floor room, rm 204 which is near the middle/front. It was not bad after all! For some, they may not like it as it near the 2nd flr common lobby area and just outside our door, overlooks the piano bar below but we love it because we can hear the performance even in our room. We have a toddler that we need to put to sleep first before lounging so it was great that it’s like we’re in the piano bar even if we’re still in our room. Since I added an extra person, they immediately asked if we want an extra bed during check in and it was setup immediately. We were also allowed to check in early as the room is already available, it was a few minutes before 3pm anyway. We requested for more towels, toiletries and it was provided immediately as well. We also requested for water and was provided when they cleaned the room.
It is nice that they have free wifi but during our stay, my daughter lagged several times as she was attending an online class. My recommendation is to have a password protected wifi for the exclusive use of booked guests.
We tried to have dinner buffet on a Saturday night, unfortunately, it was fully booked already and we’re #22 in waiting list that we decided to eat out even if it’s raining. Breakfast buffet is still superb! Tried it before even if we’re not billeted there.
Checkout was a breeze as they have checkout counter on each level, so great that there is no need to line up at the ground floor for central checkout.
Overall, we loved our stay at The Manor, a charming Baguio accommodation.

I and my friend stayed here for 2 nights in early Feb 2020. The first night, we stayed in a superior room, the second night in a 1 BR suite because all their superior rooms were already fully booked. The 1 BR suite, which is more than doubly expensive than the superior room, was not in great condition considering the rate, particularly the bathtub in the master BR (the surface seems to be chipping off).

Service was great, special mention to Issa at the reception, and Princess at the bar. Lounge entertainment was really nice, especially the trio who performed on Wednesday night was impressive.

Also did spa 2 nights in a row. Even though my massage was only for 1 hour, the masseuse spent a few minutes extra easing the tensions out of my tired shoulders.

The overall ambience is still great, the air seems fresher as compared to the rest of Baguio. I don't mind if they don't have a free shuttle service in Camp John Hay as the fresh air and scenic views are very conducive for walking. Speaking of, try doing a hike in the Forest Bathing Trail, a level 1 hiking trail in the middle of the woods in Camp John Hay. There are a lot of excellent restaurants in Baguio so here's a relaxing way to burn off those calories, and gives a good excuse to eat again.

It was indeed a home away from home. We got 2 rooms for a night to celebrate my Mami's birthday. The booking was a breeze and I really appreciate the reminders we got thru text, email and call before the day. Rooms are immaculately clean and very convenient since there are available food and snack at the pantry and ref, my kids were excited to see the jars of candies 😊
The place is quiet, peaceful and magical at night,
I commend each and every staff, everyone will make you feel at home and we rest in the assurance that we will be taken care of in case of any medical emergency because there's health personnel who are always visible at the lobby. Protocols were strictly followed at all times.
Best break we had since the pandemic within our City
Thank you❤️❤️❤️

My son enjoyed being out for a change. Rooms were clean though, i had to request for some toiletries which are often free from a 4 star hotel ( cotton buds) which we forgot to bring. It wasn’t delivered and we had to get from a nearby 711. Had a difficulty reaching front desk too though the line was just ringing. Not sure if they were short staffed but it was nit even midnight when i was calling (10pm). No bedroom slippers as well. Was thinking if they removed it because i got it for a cheaper price, but i think they shouldn’t remove those if they put up a promo. I was surprised that the playground was not well maintained and may not be very safe for kids since the mats were already uneven. A kid playing there when we arrived even tripped. Had to stay with my son to make sure he won’t trip on the mat. Since it’s a good hotel for families the playground should be well maintained. With the pandemic, there should also be safety signs and even sanitizers there for kids and probably more chairs for the parents or guardians. Since i am with family, we still enjoyed the stay and food at Le chef was great!

We booked a room for two people that means we got two beds in our room. Upon checking-in I was requesting if we could have two key cards since we are two and we have separate plans in Baguio and we will only see each other when we are back in the hotel. The receptionist said we can only have one. I am not sure if its a company policy but eventually my friend got his own key card when the security officer got his attention to wear his face shield but he left it inside our room so the receptionist gave him his own card. So it's doable pala...

Since there are two people occupying the room, I was expecting that there would be two soaps in the room just like in other hotel. (Not to mention that the room is 6k+/ night).

My friends bragged Manor all the time because their experience was good. It's true! The experience was great (e.g ambience, welcoming staff, and etc) but because of small details (key card and soap) I was not fully sold out.

Would I recommend Manor to my friends?

Yes, but with discretion. I would advise them to bring extra toiletries because Manor will only give them one small soap.

Booked the 1 bedroom suite and got room 222. It’s definitely beautiful but a big disappointment. We can hear the band playing till 2am and the cars revving from the parking and entrance driveway of the hotel. Part of the reason why we booked in the Manor is their Bonfire. We really thought that it was available every night only to find out that it was by appointment for 5k.
Since we have 2 kids with us, we looked forward to the amenities for them. I asked them where the Playhouse is but they said that it has been closed since Christmas. One guy said it was under renovation the other staff said it was already closed, permanently. Oh well, at least there’s a playground in the Garden? After our breakfast, we went to the playground so the kids can finally play. And guess what? It was closed as well. They put a rope line so nobody can go through it. I’m this closed to checking out and moving to another hotel.
We had our dinner and got the chef’s course of the night. Came to the Resto at 7:30pm and finished 9:17pm. The service was slow that we had asked them to serve the main course and the dessert together. And we had to eat fast because it’s past the kid’s bedtime and we have an early scheduled tour the next day. Part of the course was coffee and hot tea... I asked if I can get the hot chocolate instead, without a blink or even pretending to check, the staff said “no”.

And they don’t have shuttle service to go around Camp John Hay!

And their check out time is 11pm. Earlier compare to other hotels.

I’m giving 1 star to the staff of the hotel, specifically at the entrance and reception area. They were really accommodating and friendly. Another star for Hilda for assisting us when we accidentally locked the bedroom door and another star for the breakfast buffet because I think they have the best bacon.

This is the worst hotel we've been to. The place is okay, the view is okay but the service is the worst!! We stayed there for 2 nights. They gave us 1 small bottle of shampoo when we asked for another bottle (since we are staying for 3days 2nights) it took us 7 phone calls before they give it. Its like they dont care about their guests.

Second is when we asked for another bottle of water. They questioned us why we are asking for a bottle of water. Like whuttt? We are staying for 2 nights for just 2 bottles of water?srsly? They even want to charge us for a bottle of water?

Third is their sauna and jaccuzzi. Their jacuzzi is disgusting even smells like cockroach specially their showers.

Fourth is their hotel phone assistant (when you dialed 0) . They dont let us finish our words they immediately put down the phone. The way they speak is very rude. They are only friendly when you check in after that they don't care about you.

Lastly, you dont get any perks of being guest here. You cannot even eat at their restaurant because they are always fully booked they dont give priorities to those who are checked in , We tried for food room service but no one answered our call. Take note it was only 6pm that night. Thats why we end up ordering at Foodpanda.

Reservations and Front Office is a disaster. Rooms are dirty.

I booked a month before arrival and the hotel dropped their rates by more than 50% when i checked 5 days before my arrival. When i reached out to them to match the rates since they dropped the rates by 50% the excuse given to me is it’s only in their website and when i said they’re lying and sent the screenshot that it’s the same low rate as the Ctrip rate & asked them to raise to their General Manager that’s the only time they agreed to match the rates and the balance of Phil pesos 11K be used for Food and Beverage.

When I checked in, they were trying to get more money from me but there’s already a balance of 11K and the check in lady said she didn’t see it and I asked how come so many mistakes in Reservations and Front Office.

When I check in the room is dirty- please see photos & i had to ask them to clean the room well

At check out there’s a lot of Front Desk agents running around but the efficiency is very low they can save money by increasing training and making things faster to save time.

On the whole the service standards went down versus 4 years ago even though they have a lot of staff. When I asked if the General Manager is new, they said he’s the same ones. I said the Hotel Manager? They said the same. I said maybe they’re tired already that’s why the service in Reservations/ Front Office & Housekeeping went down dramatically.

Will not recommend this hotel. If you position your hotel as the best in Baguio you need to clean the rooms at the very least & deliver efficient service (hundreds of sorry means NOTHING) and be honest if you drop your rates rather than lying about it. Please improve your training standards it’s horrible and a disaster.

It was my moms bday.. it was great however as we opt to celebrate new year for dec 31 2019 front desk told me it was full booked. I booked at forest lodge instead. Fast forward upon checking out Jan 1 2020 i headed straight to The manor from their connecting pathway. I spoke to the front desk, to book for Dec 31 2020, i fill out forms and advised that i would receive email confirmation. FEBRUARY this year i called to inquire about the reservation, to my dismay they told me that it was already fully booked!!! So the the time and effort spent reserving as early as January 1 1pm was a total waste! I booked several times before with unaccomodating experience with the reservation team. Im now convinced that the management or reservation team is somewhat unfair or bias with their customer service and treatment. No such thing as first come first serve!!! You might wanna try reserving for Dec 31 even reserving it as ealry as Jan 1 and see it for yourselves!! Very disappointing! Either they tell u that calendar is not yet out or its already fully booked!!!🤨
