I am really surprised that this hotel received so many good reviews. This hotel is really basic. The rooms were freezing when we arrived and there is only a tiny space heater. We had to ask for more blankets to stay warm . It really was too cold to take a shower. The windows let lots of cold air seep...

Arrived in Puno on the Andean Express and was glad to find a warm clean room close to the Plaza de Armas and eating places. The staff were friendly and helpful event though there was a bit of communication problem occasionly. The buffet breakfast was adequate and the fruit was very welcome. To get to the restaurant area, just leave...

My brother and I stayed here one night. The hotel felt very safe and was in a really great location right near Plaza de Armas. Yes, the rooms are averages with thinner walls and service is inconsistent but this is to be expected in Peru (and in many other countries). It was clean, safe, relatively comfortable, and offered a nice...

This is a very good hotel, with friendly helpful staff. It is right on the city centre square, so it is easy to get to restaurants. Wonderful bed and pillows and lots of hot water.

Keep in mind that the star-system in Peru does not remotely coincide with the international system. Their rooms are below average (and a bit dirty). This is closer to your 2-star hotels. The staff is stretched thin, the TVs are barely audible, and I could hear everyone walking upstairs from my room. If it wasn't a part of Gate1 package...

La Hacienda Puno is a centrally located, very comfortable hotel, where we stayed for 2 nights. The rates included a very good buffet breakfast, and while it was particularly noisy where we were,I don't think it can be termed a downside simply because most hotels in Puno are in the same situation. There is only one elevator though, which is...

but it quiets down before midnight. Nice restaurant on the 6th (top) floor. Hotel has a great, central location. Good service, nice people. Not sure of the cost, as it was included in a tour. But I would not hesitate to return on my own, or recommend it.

Desk staff not friendly and most unhelpful even thou we had a Spanish speaker talking to them. They put us in a room on the fifth floor but the noise from the street was loud and went on most of the night.(Not the hotels fault ) Breakfast was okay. Glad to stay one night.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. We had a reasonable sized clean room. The breakfast was great with plenty of choice. My only small complaint was we could hear the lift operating during the night but other than that we were happy.
