Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion is celebrated by guests for providing a tranquil escape with its comfortable lodgings and immersive nature experiences. While some visitors note the hotel's price as steep, particularly when it comes to drinks and extra services, the clean and unique cabana accommodations nestled in the surroundings often compensate.
The hotel's diverse dining options and engaging tours, along with the attentive staff and serene atmosphere, consistently earn praise, despite occasional minor service glitches and limited Wi-Fi connectivity.

Beautiful location , we were in a main lodge room . ( not by choice just allocated this room ) clean comfortable room , some noise heard from next door & below at 6am breakfast time for the early groups out .The rooms advantages - close to restaurants & bar , close to eco centre , amazing views of surrounding vegetation & treetops with birds & monkeys . Great breakfast , lunch & evening meals ( could not fault ) drinks very expensive. Ignore programmes online as the days / timing does not correspond to your individual guides programme . The itinerary will be decided on your first day by your guide .we had some lovely river / lake trips , trip to the canopy walk , evening walks . My husband is a keen birdwatcher, what would have been wonderful was a bird walk for an hour or too . When enquiring was informed would be $1000 & minimum of four people ! I’m sure there were others who would have enjoyed tour specific to birds . Would have lovely to have seen a blackboard with ‘sightings ‘ for each day recorded . Lovely grounds but limited areas allowed to walk without a guide .Guides are great , our thanks to Freddie for his knowledge & kindness . Our thanks to the amazing restaurant & bar staff . Would recommend

We were so well looked after from the reception at the airport, through to the reception at the lodge and then throughout our stay. What a lovely, polite and attentive staff team. Loved chatting to the waiters at meal times, Jorge & Alias/Elias. Great guys. The room in the grounds was spacious and comfortable with mosquito net and some complimentary repellent provided. A tip: dependant on the time of year and mosquito activity take plenty of clothing that covers your arms and legs to allay the bites and note its humid, so more than 1 set. You had a real feel of being in the rain forest with some wonderful wildlife noises and the odd spotting. The lodge itself houses reception, a lounge/bar area, shop and dining. Whilst we did find some of the tables and chairs a little low and a little awkward for dining this did not detract away from the quality and quantity of the food on offer. Options for a cooked breakfast to go alongside the buffet and 3 courses at both lunch and dinner. We certainly did get well fed. The activities were good overall. We particular enjoyed the boat rides up and down river, the early morning walk and boat ride on Lake Sandoval and the canopy walkway excursions. The rest of our group stayed for 2 nights before flying out to Cusco and the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. We'd booked for 3 nights. On reflection 2 nights would have been enough had we known the activities on our itinerary on Day 3 weren't on offer locally unless we paid extra and we'd had enough mosquito bites by then after stupidly not researching that we needed more cover up light weight clothing. But this shouldn't detract away from a recommendation to stay at this place with its wonderful staff team and pleasant accommodation.

This place is magical and amazing. To get it out of the way: I have never been so hot in my life. The amazon is very hot and very humid. With that being said, I don't think you can get a more comfortable way to experience the jungle. We boated to the resort and the grounds were a beautiful nature reserves. Everyone had their own cabana that had an open view of the jungle. Each cabana was open air but enclosed with a very fine mesh. Each room also came with mosquito nets for over the beds. The generator turns off at certain quiet times but housekeeping leaves a lantern in the bathroom for overnight use. Falling asleep to the sounds of the rainforest is wonderful. The staff left us a note with a discounted spa treatment which was so sweet and special. We got "cooling" massages which were lovely - especially in the heat. All meals were provided in the main lodge and three course meals were included with the stay. Even though you can't leave the resort without a boat, you never go hungry with the amount of delicious food they feed you during breakfast, lunch, dinner and daily tea time. At the Eco Center, we learned about the project to preserve the rainforest and were offered enough free excursions to fill our days. We opted for an additional excursion (for a fee) of seeing birds migrate to a natural salt lick early in the morning and I would highly recommended it! Each cohort is assigned a guide and they all seem very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna. Alvaro was our guide and he was awesome. All the staff were kind and welcoming. We are still daydreaming of being back at this resort and exploring all it has to offer! Some notable things: Bring cash for tipping at the end of your stay. Bring a headlamp (flashlights are provided, if needed). Wi-Fi is limited to non-existent but it was nice to get away from the phones for a bit! Bring a lot of bug spray. There is a lot of cool wildlife to see!

The rooms are large cabins, a short walk from the main building. There's power only around mealtimes, and the Wi-Fi only works in the main building. We had a great guide for the organised excursions. There's a good range of options for breakfast, but only limited options for lunch and dinner options, although service was good. Drinks were expensive, and the pisco sours were poor, perhaps watered down a bit.

Five Star lodge in the Amazon. Stayed here for four days, three nights with my family. We got two bungalows and they were comfortable/equipped with mosquito nets and mosquito repellent (citronella oil). The water is the bathroom can get surprisingly hot and there are flashlights also provided.
It was a 20 minute shuttle ride from the airport and a 20 minute ride downriver to arrive at the hotel. They only allow one piece of luggage so any larger items can be left in their office by the airport, and then when they drop you back off at the airport, you can collect your bag then.
Some quick notes: Breakfast: 5:30am-9am Dinner: 7:30pm - 9pm No need to make a reservation. Electricity from 5:30am - 3pm and again from 5:30pm-around 11pm. There’s happy hour (2 for 1). There is WiFi only in the lounge.
Dining The menu did stay the same for lunch but alternated for dinner. Nevertheless, we had good variety. For example, in one meal, I ordered palmitos, chaufa, and flan and then for another I had quinoa cakes and chicken with broccoli and Brazil nut purée, and chocolate tart; then yet for another I got chicken tamal, chicken salad, and mango mousse. There are gluten-free and vegetarian friendly options. The drinks aren’t included in the price so I’d suggest taking advantage of happy hour. Overall, a good spot to stay if you’re looking to relax but see nature.

A three night stay with multiple excursions. On the plus side, for a "rainforest lodge", the level of comfort is relatively high despite the scheduled electricity outages and weak shower. And the cuisine is near gourmet standard. This is the knub of the problem. It is really more of a spa hotel on the edge of the Amazon because it is very close to Puerto Maldonado, a relatively large town. It was the site of a disused plantation and the forest has grown back up around all the post industrial wreckage. This means that staff can come and go without having to live and work in the same location for weeks on end. Proximity to civilisation means also, that in terms of wildlife, there really is not a lot to see. A few birds and very distant monkeys and that is your lot. The staff try very hard with multiple trips in the programme including two quite pointless night excursions that were frankly a waste of time and fuel for the boat. It pales in comparison to say Costa Rica or other much more isolated areas where nature has not hidden away from all that human presence. The canopy bridges were quite elaborate, but even these man made structures could not enliven a fairly turgid experience.

Response from Inkaterra Peru, Promocionar at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion

Dear guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. This property is located 25 minutes by boat from Puerto Maldonado, ideal for travelers looking for an Amazon experience with a comfy service. It is important to keep in mind when visiting the rainforest, that it is an open system where many species co-exist. The Amazon has abundant wildlife, but many of the animals like to hide in the dense vegetation. Part of the experience is to go with the explorer spirit awake. Thank you for your comments and feedback that will help us to keep improving. Best,

Good immersion in the Amazon, good quality of excursion (Sandoval Lake, canopy, night outings). Excellent service for meals (starter/main course/dessert). Drinks not included and rather expensive (50 soles for a pisco sour, 18 soles for a cusqueña and more than 150 soles for a bottle of wine). Please note, electricity (and therefore wifi) is available during fixed time slots. Prefer accommodation in a cabaña for a guaranteed change of scenery. I took off one star because the shower was cold during the 3 days…

What an amazing place, set on the river in the Amazon rainforest. The hotel meet you from airport, transport you to an office near river which took about 30 mins. You leave your luggage here for the duration of your stay and then head by boat into hotel with hand luggage which took 30 mins. Check-in was quick, and you hear about your planned adventures during your stay.
We stayed in a cabana room which was amazing waking up to all the sounds of the jungle. We stayed 3 nights and did a variety of excursions which we loved with our guide Uriel who was so knowledgeable. We saw so many amazing things and through or stay, howler monkeys, lots of birds, tarantula, caymen, turtle etc.
Food was great and big shout out to Jorge who was such an asset to hotel.
Leaving the staff (in our case the lovely helpful Grace) would check in your flight for you, provide boarding passes and help you check-in at airport 👏
What an amazing place would highly recommend.
Improvements 1. You are provided with a refillable drinking bottle, but there is no water in the restaurant. You have to buy water which comes in plastic bottles. Come on Inkantera, why not provide glass bottles of water for free on tables. 2. The only place you can fill up water is from activity centre, why not have machines by reception and in restaurant 3. We did one excursion at 6 am, so breakfast was at 6am then came back 10am starving but had to wait until 12:30 for lunch. When we did similar in Borneo, you had light breakfast at 5, then had proper breakfast at 10 which made much more sense. Also why not provide some snacks for guests during day. You couldn’t even buy them in gift shop.

This was an awesome experience. The main building was beautiful and spacious and we ate all our meals there like a fine dining restaurant. Breakfast was buffet style but we had your own table with a different meu for lunch and dinner all of which were three course meals. They also had a full bar. The service and food were excellent and had a good variety of vegetarian and non vegetarian selections.
We stayed in a spacious cabana a 2 minute walk away from the main house with three beds. It was all screened in and had mosquito nets, shower and and toilet. Everything was set in the middle of the jungle with only access by boat. It had ceiling fans and electricity and was very comfortable, just like a motel room except one with screens in the middle of the jungle.
We had several tours included in our package each of which were led by expert guides and we were able to take hikes, river boat excursions, canoe trips and see a lot of wildlife. We stayed with the same guide for all the tours which helped him to know what were needed and liked. It was a fantastic experience.

Our stay at the Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion was a highlight of our Peru tour. Our tour guide Saul not only had enormous knowledge of animals, plants and history of this place, but also a wonderful authentic and gracious way. He also answered private questions about (his) Peruvian life openly, honestly and at length. The atmosphere on the tours was both fun and very relaxing - Saul let us enjoy the peace and quiet of the jungle again and again between his stories and let it affect us, so that despite a lot of program offer you could really relax and unwind these days. The great tours were rounded off by a high-quality meal offering including courteous waiters. The food represented a large part of Peruvian cuisine and each was very delicious in its own right. All in all, we had a very nice stay in the Peruvian jungle not least through the efforts of the staff - thank you for that! We like to think back on it!

We were there 2 months ago, and if I remember correctly - the sockets are indeed the US flat pins. Do note, however, that there are only 2 available sockets in the room, and since you also need to charge the flashlights (used at night when there's no electricity) and may have a few devices of your own to charge - you may want to bring a power strip with multiple outlets.
