I came here for business trip last July and it was my first time here in Lae. I stayed at Deluxe room. The room was big and It had everything I needed.
Cleanliness of the room are well maintained.
The breakfast had lots of choices and the restaurant simply a relieve after a hectic day! Definitely will come back!

From the palazzo like entrance with cafe outside to the marble entranced foyer, to the mirrored elevator, the plush carpets to the rooms, the very very large leather reclining L Shaped lounge suite in front of the very large Flat Screen through to the very ultra large bathroom with 2 person size shower and more theres not much left to say. Superb value, very clean - very new of course and very comfortable.

Just this year so many colleagues of mine recommended this hotel for its price, simple building, and foods. Now I believe to stay in this new opened hotel need a definite reservation.... We were not even able to see the room for an observation because it was all occupied... next surprises? it is also fully booked until Christmas and New year... So we just enjoy the Restaurant and not able to spend the night in hotel, service in restaurant is good, cleanliness is good, location is perfectly in the heart of LAE city, the same value of food compare to other hotels but here we have more choices including INDONESIAN food which finally easy to understand after I meet two INDONESIANS: Donny-Hotel Manager and Tony - Executive Chef both graduated from NHI BANDUNG INDONESIA my home town. During dining hour is always crowded, as I experienced on other day. Security is good, parking is in inside of hotel's building, with an open air smoking area.

Stayed here while in Lae and was disappointed as I expected better reading the tripadvisor reviews. The hotel is relatively new but has a sterile atmosphere. The rooms are are average and overpriced. The wifi does not work in rooms and is frustratingly slow in the restuarant.
The in house phone system doesnt work either. The rates include a continental breakfast without coffee which you will have to pay for,
tes include a continental breakfast without coffee which you will need to pay for! The restuarant has an extensive menu which is the main feature of the hotel. Security parking is also a plus. The local staff are very nice. I briefly saw the Crossroads hot el which looked a lot better value and so will stay there next time.

This is a great hotel and I am a bit reluctant to rate it as everyone will want to stay there now!!
I think the big hotels in Port Moresby should send their managers to this hotel to see how a hotel should be run.
The restaurant is small but so popular that you have to book a table every night. The staff are excellent and friendly and can't do enough for you.

No need to ever stay anywhere else in Lae.

This was our 4th trip to Lae in the past 3 years and it’s great to see a hotel like the Lae City Hotel that is now seriously competing with the Melanesian and the Lae International Hotel which are definitely 3 star hotel charging 5 star prices. The deluxe rooms are quite large and comfortable with more than adequate space of you want to bring friends up for a visit. There is a large sectional sofa exactly like the photo on their website. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the City Café serves a wide range of Asian and Indonesian foods so there’s heaps of choices of you’re there for a few days. The one down side was frequent power outages which meant that when power came back you had to reset the air conditioner, as it seemed to clear all previous settings, which was a hassle at 3 am. The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance to the local business and just across from the post office. It’s an excellent addition to a rather tired run-down city, and we’ll definitely consider staying there again on future trips.

Great people. Excellent service. Cuisine is beautiful. Convenience as it's right in the centre of town. Its sister hotel close by has the best Asian Cuisine in Lae City. Recommended for business and holiday travelers

I stayed overnight at the hotel. Check in was a bit slow however staff was friendly. The hotel was busy. Deluxe rooms where fully booked out.I had a suite at the hotel room 215.
Large day room with a large sofa TV and fridge. Complimentry tea and coffee.
A large bedroom with 2 x double beds.
The walk in shower and toilet.
The hotel has a cafe and I was pleasantly suprised. The choice on the menu was good and the food was very good.

Travelled to Lae for a business trip. Didn't realize how large the rooms where until my trip got postponed for another couple of days and I got rebooked into another hotel.
Compared to this other hotel, Lea City Hotel has very large rooms, large flat screen TV with way more channel options to flick through. The most pleasant surprise was the complimentary continental breakfast vouchers given at the time of check-in plus wifi access code ( at the other hotel, I had to pay for wifi), and friendly staffs

I had to work in Lae for a weekend (Fri to Mon) and decided to try somewhere a little more "up-market" than the usual Motel. Couldn't be happier. Very large rooms (views can be a tad ordinary, but who needs a view ?) Beds very comfy, everything works as it should, and the service levels are excellent. Food at the Cafe is great with plenty of it and great value for money. I think I will make sure I always stay here for future visits.
