We stayed at the Sheraton hotel for 6 nights, half board and on arrival were given a free upgrade. Our room was on the 9th floor and we had a lovely view of Ruwi and the mountains. I cannot recommend the restaurant/s enough with the option of dining outside. The breakfast was a buffet with plenty of options and the chefs/waiters were lovely and they went out of their way to provide us with sumptuous Indian dishes both for breakfast and dinner (my husband was in food heaven!). A special mention to: Adil, Executive Chef, Chef Poojary, Anita and Babith who made our stay extra special. Our room was a good size and lovely and clean thanks to Suresh and Sagar. Taxis are available at the hotel foyer, and the bus station is only a 10 minute walk with the Big Bus Tour stop a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Travelling by taxi can be quite expensive so I would recommend travelling by bus as this is much cheaper. Muscat is absolutely beautiful with lots to see, it's clean and the locals are really friendly and hospitable. I would definitely recommend it!

I stayed at the hotel for one night before joining a tour.
I selected this as I needed to be in the Ruwi area and wanted somewhere with good facilities and high standards.
Swift check in and received with a welcome drink too. Straight to my room which was lovely. Really well appointed with high standards of fit and fixture and lovely fabrics on the bedding. Really felt luxurious and homely.
The room had lots of storage, a seating area, enormous bed and tea and coffee making facilities as well as a mini bar and air conditioning. there was also a satellite TV.
Bathroom was excellent with a shower/bath, toilet and sink and lots of complimentary toiletries as well as super large and fluffy towels, hair dryer and dressing gowns.
I took breakfast in the ground floor restaurant which was an extensive hot and cold buffet with egg station and lots of choice. Superb service from the friendly staff and really high standards throughout especially with the food quality. Great atmosphere in there as well with lots of natural light.
I parked my vehicle for free at the hotel during my stay.
The pool was lovely and refreshing, the gym in great condition and enjoyable to use. I also used the steam room which was superb.
I would definitely stay here again. My only criticism is that despite the hotel staff being friendly there seemed to me a lack of atmospher from the guests staying there.

Being cooped up in the house is not something that me and my family are being used to, unfortunately the Covid situation has forced us indoors for almost 4 months.The reopening of hotels was a welcome sign in many ways to get on with life and enjoy some family time albeit with all precautions taken. We decided to head on to Sheraton Oman which is just a 10mt drive from our place taking advantage of their excellent staycation offer. The booking experience was very smooth and courteous with Mr.Jithu helping us out. On arrival Sheraton Oman have à temperature check in place and the luggage also sanitized before proceeding in. The check-in was very smooth and sooner enough we were in the luxury of our room. The room was quite comfy and airy with pre-sanitization checks in place. After a brief rest we headed down to the pool to cool off. Here again there is a desk checking the temperature before getting into the pool. The pool is extremely clean and efficiently manned by a lifeguard, however it's best to keep an eye on your kids while in the pool. The night passed off very peacefully and we headed on to breakfast the next day. With government instructions in place, the breakfast buffet again precedes with a temperature check. The breakfast buffet though not extensive is perfect to fill your tummies with a good spread of eggs, croissants, muffins and local arabic breakfast items.The omelette served out was one of the best we have gorged on for a long time, fluffy, layered and just about perfect. The kids gorged on some lovely waffles dishes out. With the late checkout option it was another dash to the pool pist breakfast. All in all a perfect staycation and a welcome break after the long hiatus indoors. A big round of thanks to the Sheraton staff for being extremely courteous and engaging during the stay..🥰

TLDR; Pros+ + nice modern rooms + great breakfast service + Really great gym 24/7 + only 700 meters from airport bus
Cons – - service ( see review ) - Waiting time at restaurant - the food quality of the restaurant
Rooms:
The rooms are nice, and it feels modern. The radio next to the bed has special iPhone charge cables, good lights, lovely bed and an ok bathroom. ( low pressure in the shower unfortunately) Nespresso machine in the room.
Wellness/pool/gym
The gym is large and is really well equipped. I didn’t use it because of lost luggage. They have a whole wellness, but again couldn’t use it. The outdoor pool looked ok.
Breakfast/dinner/bar area
Breakfast is great. Amazing poached eggs, lots of choice, fresh juices on demand, great coffee. Really great. I enjoyed it more than the place I went to after this hotel ( and that cost 3 times more ) the outdoor pool looked nice.
Issue
Our main issue was that our luggage didn’t arrive, so we lost a whole day... they said they tried their best, but I didn’t get that feeling. They kept changing their stories ( once he said the airport would send the luggage at 6, once at 7, once at 8. Obviously in this situation you hope they do a good job, each call I made cost 3 euros per minute. Having a local from the hotel try to get more information really helps. I feel I the end it just caused a lot of frustration on our side, and nothing actually changed.
At 8 pm we decided to go to the airport, but before doing so we left our numbers to be sure that they would call us, in case the luggage arrived. After being at the airport for 2 hours, they told us the luggage arrived around 8 pm at our hotel. So we wasted a lot of time and money for nothing, not to mention our entire evening was ruined. We could have used the wellness, but it was closed by the time we got back from the airport.
We asked afterwards; and they said they called our room.... ??? Seriously ? We told them that we went to the airport !
At the airport they were surprised; because they told us “ we told your hotel the bags have been sent, They know it takes a while”
We lost more than a day because of this. Not their fault our luggage got misplaced; but they could have been better at dealing with this, and we could have had a more enjoyable day/ evening.
Final words: Great value for money hotel, close to the bus stop ( honestly take the bus 1B to the stop Ruwi , it costs 1 Rio instead of 15 for a taxi. It’s safe and fast. ) great gym, ok outdoor pool, nice rooms. The food we had for lunch was bad, it took 20 minutes for them to serve the cold mezze ( why?) and the burger and pasta wasn’t good. The pasta was pretty bad actually.
If we could have enjoyed our stay more, and actually seen / used more of The hotel; I think I would have scored it higher. In the end we paid for an experience, and a good gym isn’t a reason to come to a hotel.

Booked for valentines night package for 1 night, which includes complimentary breakfast and 5 course dinner. Check in was smooth. Got upgraded to a room with the best view of Ruwi. Room was specious, bed was very comfortable, pillows very soft. Room has got a big sofa bed too. Bathroom was good with tub, good pressure of water flow along with good bath amenities along with bath rob and slippers. WiFi was super good speed. Kettle was provided along with all complimentary tea, coffee amenities. Hair dryer was provided. Mini bar was stocked. Outside swimming pool was super cool, it’s super friendly for small children’s. Not with much depth. Life guards were very helpful, always with helping hands and smiling face, even gave small coaching to kids for swimming. Jacuzzi was cool. Interior swimming pool is a big pool, suitable for adults only, or else only those who can swim. It has got good depth. Jacuzzi is provided inside also. Stem room and sauna was good. Spa is provided in the hotel with reasonable rate (I couldn’t use). 5 course valentines dinner provided in the Asado restaurant was super good with super taste, ambience was wonderful, they r also providing seating in pool area. Breakfast provided at Courtyard restaurant was wonderful with variety of foods. All the staffs in both the restaurants were super good, swift and prompt service always ready to help with smiling face. Specially want to thank Mr. Ani (Manager) for his special effort for providing a surprise birthday cake for my wife, along with all the staffs birthday wishes song. Thank u very much dears. People like Mr. Ani are the real assets of the hotel. Also all the staffs from the top to bottom are doing excellent job. Even though the check in at 3 pm they had given us a early check in at 1 pm and late check out at 3 pm. It’s difficult to write any thing negative about this hotel. All the best team Sheraton Ruwi. Booked this hotel but we are not expecting much since we got our room for a very affordable price (they have great offer by the time I book😃). But we are surprised when we got there. The staffs are so welcoming and friendly, the hotel is clean, the room was nice and the restaurant food is great. I also appreciate that they do schedule the usage of the indoor pool. Its not crowded, they care about guest safety, they provide masks and hand sanitizers are available at the public areas. Signage about social distancing are found everywhere. Nice and comfortable hotel. I stayed with my family for three nights in Thai hotel in the first week of January 2020.
Rooms are not spacious but since we were occupying two interconnecting rooms, it was comfortable.
The hotel is in the heart of the city and hence moving around the city was very convenient. You can get taxied at any time of the day.
Breakfast was the highlight of our stay. We could get Indian tea and breakfast items in plenty which I have not seen in any of similar hotels I stayed previously.
Staff was friendly and helpful.
Overall a pleasant experience.
I would like to give full marks to this hotel.

My wife and I stayed at the Sheraton hotel and although it is located away from the major sights a taxi is a reasonable option to visit the souks shopping Malls museums etc. but with all hotels no matter how plush and sophisticated the hotel built is, it is the staff that make it a genuine 5 star hotel.The receptionists were wonderful, helpful, warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.The breakfast and Courtyard restaurant staff lead by Julie with Sonali, Lita Babith and Pratick made it difficult to leave our table as they looked after us so well and always with a welcoming and ready smile .The same was true throughout the hotel. How we laughed with the entrance staff as I tried to practice my schoolboy Arabic on the taxi drivers. We can recommend this hotel to anyone .

The Sheraton (Marriott) Oman Hotel in Muscat was my first time visit to Muscat and this hotel was a rewarding choice of hotel. The first impression you have of Muscat the moment you exit the airport is the beautifully pristine buildings en route to the hotel and the fabulous architecture that is so impressive. The Sheraton is one of the taller buildings in Muscat and rightly it stands proudly on the Muscat skyline. My junior suite had a view (on the 7th floor) of ther beautiful Al Hajar Mountain range which gives Muscat such an aesthetic appeal. Although my visit was a business trip the Sheraton Oman offered so much more, largely through its superb staff in F & B through the room management department to the pool, gym & spa personnel. The dining options are superb and the chefs deliver a gastronomical delight for every taste. The F & B staff all go out of their way to ensure that you are served in the most delightful manner. The Exectuve Club offers Marriott Bonvoy Members a wide range of snacks, specialist platters and wines in a lovely ambience. Outdoors you can relax at the well-appointed swimming pool and garden area which in the evenings hosts BBQs with a wide range of tastes to suit every palate. A huge thank you to the staff who made our trip so comfortable, so much so that I would welcome a return to Muscat and to the Sheraton. Special thanks to Frankline, Prateek, Nasir & colleagues at F & B and all the chefs who went out of their way to make our stay more comfortable.

Room is well designed and comforting. I liked its scheme. The best thing I like facilitating behavior of staff at all places. In-room dining service was efficient. I forgot tooth brush and it was provided free of cost. Similarly shoe shine service is available - free of cost. Internet services are good. Overall location of the hotel is also good. Variety of foods in breakfast and lunch was very very good and tasty. Same applies to selection of fruits.
