Pieters Place is homely, clean and welcoming. It is built around a ginormous babobab tree that is really something to be seen! We were the only customers in the entire restaurant when we visited for dinner. The menu is very limited so we opted for the grilled fish fillet and seafood basket. After ordering our waiter disappeared and only returned...

It is conveniently located close to Wimbi beach. The food was average but with the problems in Mozambique at the moment, it has to be tough on most places. I stayed 4 nights and i don't have many complaints.

This was by far the worst experience we've had in Africa. The food was disgusting as much as the service (we've waited for 1 hour to get pretty indecent food). Our room was so dirty we even found some dog's footprints on our sheets!!! In short, stay away from this place!

Pieter is hugely experienced over many years diving in the Pemba area. Including Salvage, repairs and specialist dive projects. I thoroughly enjoyed The Gap, Pemba – This spectacular wall dive is located on the edge of the continental shelf on a drop-off of that plunges to 80-120 metres/260-390 feet. It’s a prolific feeding ground for big game fish. The dive...

A group of us stayed here. The place is comfortable and one of the more affordable places around Pemba. Pieter is friendly and accommodating. Lovely outdoor/ bar area under a huge baobab tree. Food is better than other places I had eaten at. It seems to be the place to go if you want to dive as the reef is...

The owner Piet is well known for his diving experiences. We have had a best diving experience! Perfect situated with the beach across the street. Taking beautiful sunset photos. Restaurant served catch of the day. Lovely atmosphere, cold beers, plenty of rest. All in all well recommended.

Nice owner. Lovely spot but the room was overpriced for something tiny, hot and uncomfortable. The bar/restaurant area was nice and it was OK for a stopover of one night before getting the bus south. Owner arranged a taxi to pick me up to meet the bus.

Positive first impression and nothing else. We were assigned a room that made us feel like being in a shop-window or, worse, in a zoo experiment: it had just three walls and the fourth wall was all glass, top to bottom and left to right. A worn out mosquito net and the remains of two ceiling fans (one was just...

A warm welcome, a tiny but air-conditioned room, chilled beer, decent coffee and the Indian Ocean just across the road - in short: a good place to spend a night on Wembe Beach away from the dust (and worse, much worse) of Pemba.
