I was recommended this hotel by a friend, who had stayed in it a few years ago , when I was visiting Essaouira about 18 months ago. I immediately fell in love with the beautiful 19th century building, was bowled over by the charming staff...but neglected to write a review. So, having returned from a short stay there again I...

I spent an excellent evening in Riad Al madina, an evening that will remain engraved in my memory. On 31/12/2016 I saw the beauty, the charm and the good location of the Riad, the hospitality of the manager, the sublimity of the staff and the perfection of the service. Riad Al madina represents for me the good address of every...

Great hotel with a really moroccan breakfast, the rooms are clean and large, the bathroom had a nice shower, well located. The staff is friendly and helpful, I really enjoyed our stay in the hotel and would stay again.

Old, authentic building with 45 or so! rooms and a lovely yard. The room are all individually build and decorated. We stayed in two different rooms during our stay, both very comfortable and nice. The hotel has a very cozy roof terrace, where you can lay down and just enjoy the sun. The Staff are really friendly and cooperative. They...

Their gallery site seems only to show the better rooms, we did not have one. The bed was comfortable, sheets clean and crisp, towels small, nowhere to put hygene ware, toothbrushes, shaver, etc. Shower flooded everywhere. Breakfast very sketchy and basic. Would not recommend.

We spent 2 nights at this Riad.It is well situated in the Medina. They have a lovely courtyard. My room was small, clean but shower not very efficient. Meal we're not great except for my anchovy salad an appetizer the first evening really good. The fish tajine was bitter and the second night the fish was again not tasty. ....

We came here for a quick drink to escape the crowded Medina and stayed for ages. The outside doesn't prepare you for the beautiful courtyard with two rose petals filled fountains. This is worth finding for the peace and quiet alone, which is a rare commodity in Morocco. We have spent a few holidays in the country and love the...

I stayed here two nights after hiking in the Atlas mountains, sleeping in tents, dorms and outside. It eas nice with a proper bed, shower and access to cold drinks and food. My heart dif however stay in the amazing mountains in Morocco. The hotel is ok, clean and the staff friendly. It has everything you need.

This is another of the "funky" riads that I experienced on a recent trip to Morocco. It is in the heart of the Medina which means that you will have to walk in from the city gate. Make sure you have good instructions. The port is an easy ten minute walk, depending on how distracted you are with all the...
