Fabulous 4th Visit!

We have just returned from our 4th visit of Lux Belle Mare and are pleased to say that this hotel never disappoints! We were given the most amazing welcome by all of the amazing staff we have had the pleasure of meeting over the years - we truly are made to feel like family! The staff at Lux Belle Mare genuinely make this hotel the most amazing and welcoming hotel. We have considered trying some of the other Lux hotels in Mauritius but do not know how they could measure up to Belle Mare. As well as the fabulous staff, the rooms are beautiful and spotlessly clean. The restaurants are amazing. We dined in Amari and experienced amazing hospitality by Roopesh who ensures your experience is unforgettable - amazing service with food to die for! Roopesh goes above and beyond to ensure you have the best experience, not only in his restaurant but around the hotel whenever you see him he checks everything is going well! Roopesh I would love for you to share the murgh makhani recipe with me :) we can’t wait to return. We spent a lot of time at Beach Rouge - lunch here is fabulous if you want a smaller lunch or more! I love the delicious breads you are served before your meal and the dips! Service here is second to none. My husband asked for Tiramisu one evening even though it was only on the lunch menu. The staff went out of their way to go to the main kitchen so that he could have this - they really do go out of their way to ensure your experience is memorable. Thank you to Kris and his amazing team. K Bar - Vijaye is such a character - always made us laugh and wouldn’t let us have an empty glass. Sanjiv and Vijaye are such a fabulous team. Every day we would have to have a drink and chat with them as the sun was going down. Entertainment in the evening is fabulous (and I don’t normally enjoy entertainment provided on holiday) the Fabulous 9 really were fabulous!! Duck Laundry - try to book before you arrive as this restaurant is so popular you may struggle to get in. The food again is to die for - the sweet and sour chicken and Kung pu chicken is soooo scrummy! We struggled to get in originally but thanks to Billal for squeezing us in! Do book in advance as you will be so disappointed if you miss out. RR truck - make sure you are hungry if you eat here as the portions are generous and delicious - and here you have the pleasure of Dave. Such a lovely lovely man!!! Mixe - we only really had breakfast here but wow what a choice - you could have absolutely anything. Even if you do not see what you want - speak to Vic who will arrange anything. So friendly and attentive! Jason - new head chef - lovely man and keen to listen to your views! we are looking forward to sampling your new creations when we return. Hema from customer relations - I miss her already and look forward to seeing her next year - fabulous and goes above and beyond. Last but far from least - Billal is Cafe Lux - our new adopted son! Billal thank you for just being you. Just seeing his smiling face is enough to make your day. Our daily chats were so interesting and fun. Not only does he make the best cappuccinos ever (according to my husband and ever other guest we spoke to) - he also made lovely vanilla frappes for me as I do not like coffee. We have visited other Lux hotels (Maldives and Turkey) and the staff really could learn so much from Billal - Lux you really should consider sending him to other resorts to train the staff - he should be cloned!! It would be lovely for Sylvano to join him back at Cafe Lux... We staff all inclusive and all inclusive here really means all inclusive. Even after you check out at 1100 you remain all inclusive and can eat and drink and use all facilities until you are picked up to go to the airport. They have fabulous shower rooms to use so you really don’t need to pay to keep your room if you have a late pick up. So in summary if you are thinking about visiting - just do it! You will never regret it and may end up returning over and over like we have!! I wish I could name all of the wonderful staff to thank them but there are too many - so thank you to you all! Deluxe at the Lux

Delightful hotel with very friendly, helpful and energetic staff. Loved the 1933 white Rolls Royce as part of the decor! Our room ,a lux suite, was spacious, modern with a big bathroom. Lovely heated pool.the Beach Rouge restaurant was fabulous for lunch and dinner. The best touch was the big containers of different flavoured water. at the beach-great for the environment to not use small plastic bottles of water ! Well done !

Pure Luxury from start to finish.

Where do we begin......? We simply cannot rate the LUX* Belle Mare highly enough. From the moment we arrived we were wrapped in genuine Mauritian hospitality from sun up until sun down. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who (without exception) went above and beyond at every opportunity to ensure we had every comfort, were taken the best care of and wanted for nothing. We were always greeted by name, with genuine smiles and interest as to our wellbeing. The food was out of this world - every meal throughout our 14 night stay was first class. It would not be possible to improve on the perfection offered here. The choice of restaurants and cuisine was up with the best we have had anywhere in the world. Facilities and accommodation were superb - our every need was catered for (even before we had thought of it). The entertainment was varied, excellent and well thought out for the range of ages holidaying. From cinema nights on the beach, to yoga, Pilates, gym, fabulous spa - not to mention the whole range of activities at The Boat House. I did my first scuba dive under the expert tuition of Jason who gave me the most fantastic underwater experience on the reef. For keen scuba enthusiasts (or even first timers), you must give it a go! I could go on indefinitely, but I think you get the idea - this place is special - very special, and we simply cannot to return next year L & T Wright…

Best beach in Belle Mare

We liked the hotel very much. The food was really nice and the beach was amazing, the best in the whole of Belle Mare area with amazing lagoon, soft sand and nice palm trees! The restaurants of the hotel are of highest standard, you are spoilt for choice and the restaurant staff is so well trained. It's not an ordinary hotel and as we went to lux le morne afterwards we are already lux addicts! A great experience!

Exceeded expectations

We had a wonderful 10 days at the Lux Belle Mare. The hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. The rooms are large and have the most comfortable bed. The bathrooms are huge and well equipped. The food in all of the restaurants is exceptional. We had lunch most days at Beach Rouge and ate at all of the evening restaurants, Mixe, Beach Rouge, Duck Laundry and Amari by Vineet. You cannot fault a thing at this hotel. The staff are all so welcoming and helpful. It truly is paradise, don't hesitate to book this hotel. We will return hopefulluy soon

From the beach I could see sun rise. Sunset is on other side of the island.

Hi - can anyone advise what the weather is like in this area of Mauritius in March? Many thanks

Mauritius is in the tropics - Southern Hemisphere. So coming out of hot steamy summer. Really the best time of the year. Hopefully the cyclone have moved on. Although they can still hit the island in April. Best ask the web.

Just wondered what the entertainment was like, day and nightly? Do they play any reggae bands? Not that important to be reggae, just wondering?

There was live music every night when we were there (November). It was good quality and reggae was twice a week.

How expensive the restaurants and bars in the resort ? we usually drink 3-4 cocktails during the day + having some soft drinks (coke, coffee). Planning to stay 9-10 days there. I am wondering if it worth having AI package.

It’s expensive. Worth having the all inclusive package. Also, there are different all inclusive packages, so make sure you ask questions. We did full board plus alcohol!
