Kandolhu Maldives is truly a breathtaking and beautiful resort, offering a serene escape in a tropical paradise. The entire experience was beyond expectations, from the stunning natural surroundings to the top-notch hospitality. The resort's intimate & peaceful atmosphere made for an incredibly relaxing stay, and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect vacation. Highly recommended! My biggest issue now is that any future vacation I take will have a hard time matching up to my experience at Kandolhu!

I stayed in an overwater pool villa, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The panoramic glass view from the bathroom, overlooking the turquoise ocean, was jaw-droppingly beautiful. The villa was equipped with a comfortable king-sized bed, luxurious bedding, and modern amenities such as a free standing tub, Bluetooth speaker, and a private pool that sparkles at night. The unlimited mini bar, stocked with snacks and drinks, was a nice touch that added to the indulgence. It was pure luxury from start to finish. If there was a small nitpick recommendation I'd make for the room, it would be to have USB chargers next to the bed.

The service at Kandolhu Maldives is truly world-class. The staff went above and beyond to make sure every need was met. It started with the staff and General Manager greeting us upon arrival, providing us with a personalized tour of the island and its amenities, and ensuring we never lifted a finger. By the next day, the entire staff knew our names, dietary restrictions, and food preferences (ex. likes spicy foods), we were treated like royalty but in the most approachable and genuine way.
We came to celebrate a milestone birthday and on the day of, I was greeted throughout the day by the staff with "happy birthday" and well wishes. They even decorated our room to say happy birthday while we were out at dinner and gave me a hand written card with individual notes from a majority of the staff; truly one of the most thoughtful and beautiful acts of service I've ever seen. (And of course they gave me a custom made birthday cake and want to me at dinner)
A HUGE shoutout to the some of the staff that truly made our stay memorable: Mann, Nasru, Zinadh, Anjelita, Suraj, Ibby, Astrid, and Mahil--you all truly became like friends throughout our stay and did everything in your power to make us feel comfortable and happy. The hospitality we experienced was absolutely exceptional.
Food & Drinks
The food was absolutely delicious, with a diverse range of cuisines to choose from. There are 6 restaurants on property which is a marvel in itself given how small and intimate the resort is. Every meal was a culinary journey, and it was clear that great care went into each dish. The resort's restaurants offered something for every palate, from fresh seafood to Mediterranean to fusion flavors, all prepared with the highest quality ingredients. Every morning we were greeted with a fresh array of fruits, cheeses, meats, and breads to accompany a la carte menu items, and when I tell you this resort has the greatest omelette I've ever had in my life, I still think about it. Hats off to the chefs who are truly masters at their craft.

My experience at Kandolhu Maldives was nothing short of magical. To be very clear, this resort is built for relaxation, snorkeling, diving, and F&B indulgence. There's not a bunch of ongoings, which is exactly what I was looking for; quiet, luxurious, indulgent and relaxing. In my opinion, the resort provided the perfect balance of relaxation and available activities like snorkeling, diving, kayaking, etc. It was such a breeze going from eating to relaxing at the beach or in the villa, to snorkling, to having some drinks and every in between. The folks at the activities center took us out for a sunset cruise, taught us windsurfing, and even reserved a GoPro for us so we could capture all our water activities. From start to finish, this was the ultimate luxury escape.
Overall this was a truly magnificent resort and experience, from the hospitality to the beauty of the resort to the dining, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

Upon arrival we were greeted by the management & staff & shown straight to our room, a beautiful beach villa. Soft fluffy large bath towels, high quality linen, toiletries, beach bag & a pair of large beach towels were provided. Choice of pillows & a mattress topper were available. One complimentary bag of laundry was included for our stay which was returned to us in a wicker basket within 12 hours. The minibar & wine fridge were well stocked & refilled daily along with snacks. AC was very good as was the fan, the bathroom was a little warm though. Our room was cleaned daily to a high standard by a secret ninja who seemed to know when we left as we rarely saw him. The evening turn down service & little treats were a nice touch too. Our room view was exceptional & private as we requested. Often it felt as though we were the only guests. The beach outside the villas is suffering dramatically from erosion on this side of the island unfortunately. Our sun loungers were extremely comfy with thick padded mattresses, we had a sun umbrella, day bed, table & 2 chairs too. The foliage separating the beach villas provides shade all day, however due to beach erosion it was difficult to place a lounger in the sun. The reef is amazing, with some stunning healthy coral but also some which has suffered from bleaching. The anenome garden is thriving with lots of clown fish. The sea life is varied & plentiful with sharks, rays & turtles & we saw dolphins too. Staff are very friendly & know your name from day one, always asking how you are & having time to talk. The managers are visible & accessible, a nice touch. Food & drink are excellent, with chefs happy to amend dishes to your taste. We preferred the Sea Grill but all the restaurants are excellent. Sometimes the bar service was a little slow. Particular thanks to Estella, Maan, Zinadh & Elvira (for the kind loan of her fan to stop me melting) for their attentiveness & kindness throughout our stay.

From the moment we stepped off the speed boat and were welcomed by the management team, until the moment we were waved off the pier when left the island, we experienced nothing but 5* luxury. The reception staff explained that our Duplex villa was being prepared for us (we arrived before 10am) and proceeded to show us around the island and took us for breakfast at the Market restaurant, which was delicious. We were then shown to our Villa....Wow, Room 115 was everything we'd hoped for, the duplex rooms have everything you could ask for. The private pool was a must, along with two outdoor sitting areas (one on the upper floor and one on the ground level), these allowed the most amazing views, especially at sunset. The outside shower, bath and toilet seemed strange at first sight, but we loved it (also an inside shower and toilet upstairs). The coffee/tea/soft drinks were replaced daily. My request for Tiger beer in the fridge was granted immediately. The wine chiller and wine selection was astonishing, we barely scratched the surface but loved all we tried. The four spirit bottles were untouched although a welcome sight. The food was a big incentive for us choosing Kandolhu, and we were not disappointed! Surely plenty of choice for anyone. The chefs were in total control, none seemed rushed at all, while the waiting staff were so attentive, and always with a smile. Our favourite was the Sea Grill (we love fish and seafood), the Ata Roa for Ceviche and Tacos at lunch... bliss (you need to book). I'd the most amazing seafood tagliatelli in the Olive, while the Banzai chef provided a wonderful experience. The Market is the standard for breakfast, lunch and dinner, plenty of choice on each menu, while the staff would accommodate any request if you wanted something special (we had a plate of fresh mango one morning). I can honestly say I loved everything we tried, I only wish we had been there longer to experience more. All the guests we talked with, loved the house reef for snorkelling, being afraid of deep water, I was happy to mess about in the lagoon outside our villa, lots of colourful fish even in the shallow waters. The cocktail menu at the Vilu Bar is extensive, every cocktail expertly prepared and delivered by the friendliest of staff. The Spa was unbelievable, my wife enjoyed four treatments, I had reflexology and a full body massage. So, so relaxing. You can choose how intense you want the treatment to be, the young masseuse had me squirming with her strong thumbs. I'd recommend the Ultimate Inclusion package, everything other than lobster and champagne included. I'd also recommend interacting with the staff, they have so many wonderful stories to tell are are so friendly. We are already planning a return visit, this time with friends. After having read all the excellent reviews from previous visitors we also decided to book Kandolhu. And I can only say that was an excellent decision! The already given great reviews were all spot on! Booking over the Kandolhu website was very smooth. Excellent service from the front desk staff in organizing pre-payment, payment and water airplane. After landing in Male, a short transfer to the new Lounge just next to where the water airplane departs. Lounge very nice and modern. From there a 30 mins flight to Kandolhu. We really appreciated being welcomed by Guillaume and the crew right on arrival on the Jetty. Then we were shown to our Beach Villa (number 109) and also received a tour of all the island facilities such as restaurants etc. Great intro! The beach villa was lovely. Very spacious, great bathroom, excellent bed with direct access to the beach and the sea. Coffee and tee facilities, a loudspeaker that connected over bluetooth to the I-Phone etc. The only thing that was missing is an outdoor shower when coming back from the sea. The beach villas are best located for sundowners given they face to the west. The house reef is beautiful, lots of corals and many different fish with friendly sharks and turtles. We went snorkeling twice a day and every time saw something not seen before. Kandolhu has 5 different restaurants, all of them "a la carte" and all of them offer a great choice of different dishes at very high quality. We loved it. For our stay we chose the all inclusive package, which we can clearly recommend! Next to all the food (with some small exceptions like lobster) a good choice of wines and alcoholic beverages of international brands is included in this package. There were also some theme evenings (indian / maledivian) offered at an additional price, there we thought this should be included in the AI package and not at a small surcharge. Big congratulations to the staff on the whole island, wow! They really make a difference. Estela, Elvira, Gilbert, Sharif etc (sorry for not mentioning all the names) make you feel at home and welcomed from the moment you arrive on the island. From day 1 they knew our names, we never experienced this before, it feels like visiting family. We also arranged two different excursions with the dive center to see different reefs. One of them was to see Manta's and wow, this was amazing. Naweed made a great job and guided us to a place where we saw at least 5 of them and could watch these unique creatures by snorkeling in the sea and take great pictures. We want to express our big thanks to Guillaume and management and all the staff on Kandolhu for a great experience, WE LOVED IT!

This was our first time in Maldives and it was absolutely amazing. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome and very well looked after. The staff quickly learn your names and preferences without being intrusive. Food was really good. Lots of choice, lots of fresh fish, good portions sizes - we were never hungry! Staff were very attentive, Special thanks to Elvira who looked after us really well in the restaurants, although all staff were so friendly and always asked how our day was going. The bar was excellent with an extensive cocktail list and if it wasn’t on the menu they’d make it for you. Really nice nibbles served every evening with our drinks, and if you went after dinner they’d bring cooling flannels which was fab. Managers Monika and G were highly visible and one or both was in the bar every evening. My husband particularly enjoyed finding out how such a small island operates and manages water and electricity! Housekeeping and turndown service we really good, they quickly got to know when you went for breakfast and dinner and your room was cleaned accordingly. It was a very unobtrusive service. We were visiting for a special birthday and on our last evening our bed was decorated and I received a card and cake. Such a lovely touch. The snorkelling was incredible, we saw an array of fish, rays, turtles and sharks. The guys at the water sports centre were really helpful. My husband wanted to wakeboard but the boat was awaiting a part. As soon as the part arrived on the island they quickly fixed the boat so that he could go out. The island is small and you definitely have that desert island feel. It was a truly magical experience, I can only assume that the reviewer below has visited a totally different island. We have travelled extensively and stayed in some world class hotels, Kandolhu is up there with the best.

Myself and my husband visited Kandolhu for a week as part of a bigger trip. From the moment we arrived we knew this was going to be a very special part of our trip. This island really encompasses all of the beauty of the Maldives with turquoise seas and white sands. Our water villa was immaculate with an extensive mini bar, robes, umbrellas, iPad, wonderfully comfortable bed and even insect repellent! My husband spoke very highly of the dive team who were very knowledgeable about the area, helpful and friendly throughout his dive trips. The snorkelling on the house reef was seriously breathtaking and I highly recommend a guided snorkel as staff pointed out so many different species and shared their amazing local knowledge. We also used the spa on several occasions and found the quality of massages and facilities fantastic. For such a small island there was a wonderful variety of food options all of which were outstanding! I have a serious food allergy and the staff were always aware of this and went above and beyond to ensure my food not only safe but also ensured I enjoyed the same choice and variety that other guests had. The ethos and service on this island is something else. Everyone will say hello as you walk by, all take pride in their work, the gardens and beaches are immaculate and there was a strong environmental value. All of the staff were so genuinely warm and caring and they too seemed appreciated and valued by the management team. This island is literally perfection and we will remember our stay there forever!

Love everything at Kandolhu. Fantasticly beautiful, luxurious, divine nature, nice house reef, excellent food and excellent staff.
Maldives/Kandolhu was all we could dream of for a holiday with relaxation, presence, sun, diving, good food and rich wildlife. We will love to come again and next time for more than 7 days. We definitely did not get bored but enjoy the quiet life (including that there is no motor noise which includes the water flyer puts you off on a timber fleet in the middle of the sea).
We traveled with Blixen Tours which we can only recommend. We chose Blixen Ultimate inclusive - it's a lot of money, but it's just expensive with food/drinks on the Maldives and the options are limited when you're on an island.

This is the best resort we have ever been to, a true Maldivian paradise. The island is piqture perfect and tiny so you can walk around the island in 8 minutes.
Regardless of the size the island offers 5 restaurants with outstanding food and service. The snorkeling was amazing with a fantastic diversity of marine life and corals. We were spoiled with encounters with large sharks, eagle rays and many beautiful fishes. We stayed in January 2022 and can´t wait to go back one day.

It was the holiday of a lifetime! And not only because we were very lucky to be able to marry on Kandolhu! The island is a dream! The staff will read every wish from your eyes. They are all so friendly, so accommodating, so quiet and helpful, it is impossible to put into words. This starts with the management of the hotel Luci and Caudio!!! We have taken you into our hearts. We would also like to mention Estella, Ameen, Shaamin, Elvira, Ivan and Landysh as representatives. But the praise goes to all employees without exception, whether they clean the houses, are responsible for the boats, work in the kitchen or not! Our praise goes out to every single one! You feel at home, that's all you can do! Thanks for letting us be your guests. Add to that the perfect wedding ceremony. Everything was well prepared, Luci spoke wonderfully and the photo team did a great job. We would also like to mention the unique house reef (no more can be done), the very nice accommodation (we had a beach villa) and the fantastically quiet atmosphere! We will recommend you and one thing is for sure, we will come back! To all: If you want to experience a dream holiday, then head to Kandolhu! There he is to be found!!!
