We stayed here four night (but I wish it was longer); Our room was a treehouse which was surprisingly roomy for two people. Loved hearing the surf at night. We did their jungle walk which was a nice warm up for hiking in Bako later....More

Stayed in a treehouse with our 6 & 8 yr old boys and absolutely loved it. Amazing location, in the heart of the forest with some great trails from the resort. The restaurant had great selections and REALLY good coffee for once on our travels....More
We just had 2 great nights at the Permai Resort. Realizing that you're in a rainforest (I don't want to hear complaints about bugs) it's a great place on a breathtaking property. It's a real jungle with accompanying sounds and trails connecting the cabins, one...More

Sorry to have to say but there are many spiders around. Just sitting in the restaurant you can see many in the rafters. They don't bother you and they do help to keep the insect numbers down. In the forest are many but if you keep to the concrete paths you should be fine. I was looking for them so saw lots in the bushes, jungle and around the shelters or wooden structures. With regard to the tree houses I stayed in one and enjoyed it. I only saw one spider on the balcony and that stayed where it was. So go and enjoy it but just don't poke around in the jungle
