We stayed here for about 5 nights on and off whilst travelling around Sarawak and what makes this place so special is the friendly, helpful staff. They helped me in all aspects from booking trips to running us around and storing our bags. They were great! The rooms are fine and the beds comfy. The breakfast and bar choices could...

Amazing experience. The staff members were extremely friendly and helpful. The cute boutique hotel is perfect for talking with the staff or meeting other guests. The lobby includes a friendly bar, and the breakfast is delicious -- homemade banana french toast! I couldn't have asked for a better hotel experience, especially as a solo traveler. If you're going to Kuching,...

We spent a few nights in this nice boutique hotel during our trip in Sarawak. Since we entered the hotel for the first time, the staff made us feel welcome and relaxed after the long travel. They offered us typical rice wine and chocolate cake and even provided a special bag for the Rainforest Festival, containing rain ponchos, napkins, mosquito...

We spent three nights in this hotel. Everything is perfect from the room to the quality of the breakfast. The staff is very kind and helpful. Their English is perfect. Location is also good as you have a mall parallel to the hotel. There is a 7/11 next door and many restaurants near by. I would definitely recommend this hotel...

This place gave us alreay a good feeling when we walked in! A very nice, original decoration and a friendly energetic staff! Although our first night was not the best, we woke up by annoying party noice, we leaved our hotel after two nights with a good feeling. Why? They reacted empathetic and correctly at our complaints. It gave us...

We enjoyed our stay with Jackie and her team enormously. Standards of hospitality and cleanliness were excellent and we were impressed by the care the staff took to make sure our needs were met. The room was spacious, big enough to comfortably live in over a ten day period. The opportunity to participate in the Hari Raya celebrations at one...

First, I want to be clear that - whatever my complaints below - I appreciate the staff's hospitality and efforts. They greeted me very politely, offered me a heavenly glass of 'tuak' (rice wine), didn't fuss when I asked for more eggs and completed both check-in and check-out procedures w/out hassle. They are the only reason why this review isn't...

The Batik is a cosy, traveller friendly hotel for people who like to interact with the locals and wander outside the norm. I loved the friendly welcome and chats I had and the personal touch of seeing the weaving and being told of the rafting tour. A big hotel chain can't give you these types of experiences and I am...
