Adrian's Bungalow is one of my favorite memories of Sarawak. I had an excellent two-night stay. Adrian's family and staff's hospitality is incredible. Over just two days I kayaked on the river (right behind the Bungalow), visited a local Malaysian Chinese town, went to an island and took a motorboat ride on the river, biked in the vicinities of the... We stayed recently at the Kebun with our 8, 5, and 3yrs old children and fit, 75 yr old father. Adrian and Olivia were charming, wonderful hosts and took us on lots of exciting trips. Adrian always had lots of suggestions for things to do. We loved the 3 National Parks we visited, seeing the orangutans, the crocodile farm and... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Kebun. We spent three nights in Adrian’s Bungalow where we were treated to all the comforts of home, including some wonderful extras like the fresh baked bread each day, in a beautiful, verdant setting. The hosts were extraordinarily gracious and generous, going to great lengths to accommodate our interests such as making arrangements... More

The Kebun offers an authentic farm stay with friendly service and decent, somewhat rustic cottages and some newly built longhouses with a traditional feel to them. We stayed at both cottages and found Adrian's cottage to be a little too rustic for our taste. It did, however have a great balcony and, according to Adrian, was the setting for a... More

Dear dmancda Thank you for your review. Adrian’s Bungalow was reassembled from the movie set of The Sleeping Dictionary and it is what it is meant to be, a rustic getaway for the present owner who fell in love with the rustic charm of the bungalow design and layout hence the mighty effort to move it to its present location.... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Kebun was started 12 years ago as our plan for a retirement home in Sarawak, East Malaysia. Adrian’s Bungalow was put up after being disassembled from the movie set of The Sleeping Dictionery. Olivia’s was only put up only two years later when it was taken out of storage which was also disassembled from the same movie set. The farmstay side of the business only started in April 2010 after much encouragement from friends. The Kebun is not just accommodation, it is an experience. If you would like to get a taste for the basics of a simple lifestyle in a beautiful tropical setting, which is of fresh gardens of organic herbs & vegetables, picking your own tropical fruits, dining on fresh farm raised livestock, fishing for your own freshwater fish & simple accommodation with little impact to the environment, or even to help out with feeding all of the animals at the end of the day’s activities and again in the morning, then your are up for a unique Sarawakian adventure at The Kebun. ... more   less
