We stayed 4 nights in the garden room which is part of a stand alone building separate from the main house. The room was actually three rooms, a bedroom, an everything room (sink, bench etc), a hallway to the bathroom (good storage) and of course a bathroom. All is basic and clean. The bed very comfortable. Only went to the...

Annie and Eric are gems! Looking after the late Tan Sri Datuk William Tan's house and visitors from a range of countries, ethnicities and needs, ensuring all feel at home with sound wisdom, maximum awareness and minimal hassle. Great location and value, with taxis just a ten minute walk away.

Our room at the fairviewguesthouse was quite basic and there was some streetnoise. However, it was spotless and there was hot water in the shower any time you wanted it. The location at first looked a bit out of centre but proofed nearer then we thought. But what realy made our stay the highlight of our time in borneo were...

The Fairview is a great guesthouse in a terrific location very close to downtown Kuching with lots of good restaurants, shopping and amenities within a 15 minute walk. The operators, Annie and Eric are warm, welcoming and very helpful. Annie helped set up some great tours at reasonable prices, including an overnight trip to Bako NP. She also offered really...

This is a nice, cheerful budget guesthouse. Annie was very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. My room was basic but adequate for the price and the garden separating the house from the road is nice. There was wifi but it was pretty slow. Very close to the Sarawak museum (worth a visit) and within walking distance of the town centre.

I have to say, when I read Loki647's review of the guesthouse, I was surprised as it didn't echo our experience at all. The guesthouse is a beautiful, large house built about 80 years ago. It is close to the Sarawak museum, the bus station and the Merdaka shopping centre and only about 10 minutes' walk from the waterfront. It...

I spent an unenjoyable week at the Fairview. Overall, I felt rather exploited (everything is overpriced) and uncomfortable. My room in the main house (there are also garden rooms with no internet connection) was gloomy, worn-down and quite dirty. No cleaning service was provided. The kitchen was deplorably unclean, full of bugs and garbage and unpleasant to use. I was...

Annie and Eric were so accommodating! They helped us with every need we had, from where to eat to mailing a package. The guest house is within walking distance to the riverfront. The room was basic but large......tranquil setting, air conditioning, and hot water for a great price. We highly recommend Fairview.

The property could be beautiful, is in a good location (a 10-20 minute walk from many central attractions and basics like grocery stores), but is neglected and can get very unclean at times. Most items in the communal kitchen are badly damaged and do not work, and the cooking area is usually quite unclean and covered with discarded food, fruit...
