Our stay with Lars, Liza and Froya was truly one of the highlights of our three weeks journey through Malaysia. Besides a magnificent location in the middle of the jungle, only accesible by small boat, we especially enjoyed the company of our hosts, who are the most welcoming and warm people you can think of. Unforgetable as well: bathing in...

We are a family with parents and three boys aged 10, 13 and 16. We stayed with Lars and Liza and their charming daughter Frøja for 5 days / 4 nights in July and enjoyed every minute. Kurakura offers an absolutely unique combination of lodging in the midst of Borneo’s jungle and 5 star gourmet dinning! The house is very...

Staying at Kurakura with Lisa, Lars and Freya is an experience we will never forget. Lars picked us (3 generation women: me, my mother and my daughter) up from the airport and the first stop was a colorfull wet market which was fun to visit. The journey by car and boat is very special and we were lucky the river...

If you would like to discover something uniq with your family, and be taken care of then this is the right place to go. We have seen, tried and learn about the nature. I am sure that either we or the kids will ever forget the trip.

Lars is from Norway and his wife Liza is of the local Biduyah people. Together, they run Kurakura Homestay in the jungle near her family's village not far from Kuching. Lars picked us up in town and drove us to Liza's village, across a swing footbridge from the road. We got into his small local-style boat and motored up-river for...

Liz and Lars run a delightful guesthouse, in an idyllica location not too far out of Kuching, but it feels like another world. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we booked, and the kindness continued from our hotel pick up to the drop-off 3 days later. The guesthouse location is tranquil, cosy, and clean, and there is...

Stayed here for 3 nights with family and friends and it was just an amazing experience. Lars and Liza made us all so welcome, nothing was too much trouble and the food was first class! Highlights were definitely the orang-utans, the jungle shopping and the kayaking. How they have made such a gorgeous house with guest rooms in the middle...

Many many thanks to Lars and Liza! Myself and my girlfriend spent 2 nights here in March and could have spent much longer. It's one of the nicest places I've ever been and will be hard to top. Lars has done an excellent job building a perfect house in a perfect location away from the noise and madness of the...

Stayed here for 1 night in March with my partner, and what a fabulous experience it was! Lars and Liza are fantastic hosts, and really made us feel part of their family. From the ease of making the booking via e-mail, to being collected from our Kuching hotel lobby, and on to the adventure, the whole trip ran totally smoothly....

Lars and Liza were the perfect hosts, right from the start we felt at home. Lars is the perfect driving guide and Liza the perfect cook and jungle guide. I am still dreaming of your Pandan cake Liza! :) We have told all our friends to go and stay there as we know everyone who goes would have the best...
