Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu earns praise from many for its excellent value, offering affordable luxury like an executive lounge, despite some critiques of food quality. The hotel's cleanliness and modern rooms, complete with stunning sea views, are popular among guests, although a few note the room temperature control could be improved. The central location is a hit for those keen to explore the city, and the staff's friendly and professional service consistently impresses visitors. While the amenities, including a rooftop bar, are generally well-received, some signs of wear have been mentioned.

Enjoyed our time at Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu over the weekend. Rooms were incredibly spacious and modern with comfortable beds and pillows, and we love the design of the bathroom - clean, modern with white marble tiling and a rainshower. Didn't have access to the club lounge, but would recommend it as they had sweeping views of the sea and it looked really comfortable. Went to the rooftop bar instead, where my wife and I enjoyed the really good cocktails promotion (4 for RM 100 nett) with a great sunset view and live band music. Live band was amazing - please do help us to thank them for a great time there! :) Location was perfect as well, right smack in the middle of the city. Will hope to be back one day!

Breakfast was pretty good with a wide variety of choice. Loved the Indian dhall on the 3rd breakfast day, the other days it tasted a bit different. Probably different chefs. Service staff were courteous and friendly.

The hotel is located very near to the sea, the Filipino market and the dry seafood stalls. If you don't mind the fishy smell, this hotel is worth considering as they have friendly staff and good breakfast, clean and very comfortable rooms. However, the shower area has low water pressure and it is very slippery. Hotel should consider placing a non-slip mat to prevent any accidents.

Ms Anna from the breakfast lounge is very attentive and gives personal attention to every guests. She even offered us a replacement cup of coffee when ours turned luke warm while we wait for our food.

We had been travelling for almost 3 weeks around Borneo and wanted to have our last few nights sat chilling at the side of a pool and going to the gym, we chose this hotel as the pool and gym looked amazing BUT the gym was very very dated, it stunk, so much so we left after 10 minutes on the treadmill.

Then the pool, they are currently repainting the building fair enough work needs to be done but we had not been told it would be happening during our visit. This meant that part of the pool deck were inaccessible and the areas you could access did not get the sun. Also the paint which was being scrapped off the building was falling into the pool, so we did not want to swim in it.

If the gym had been better and the pool been up to standard we would have absolutely given 5 stars but it wasn’t.

The hotel will be amazing when the refurb is totally finished, people should be made aware of the work.

We had a suite, which was fabulous, luxurious, clean, great facilities and club access with great views.

Food was fabulous and cheap, service was amazing but there are a lot of managers around, who are very strict with staff, who we all thought were doing a great job, ease off a bit or tell them off in private, it was managers which looked unprofessional not staff!

We would return but only when the Refurb is totally complete.

Stayed at Le Meridien for 4 nights in July 2022. The location of Le Meridien is one of the best - in the heart of KK, grabcar to everywhere is less than RM10. We felt safe and comfortable throughout our stay. The hotel is spacious, clean and brightly lit. Check-in was easy. The staff there was very friendly and welcoming. My partner injured his leg during the trip and they were very attentive and asked if we would like to borrow a wheelchair and even prepared a huge packet of ice for the injury (we didn't even ask for it, but they were very caring). Even the restaurant staff was very attentive and was able to quickly accommodate our needs and arranged a suitable table for a wheelchair. They even gave my partner freshly squeeze orange juice when they overheard him casually mentioning he felt like drinking it. We really enjoyed our stay and will come back to Le Meridien again when we visit KK.

Stayed on the executive floor. The room was lovely with a view of the sea. The executive lounge was brilliant. Lots of snacks and drinks. Spectacular at sunset with views over the sea. Brilliant staff. Very helpful. We hired a car and Hari helped to download an app for GPS and told us where to buy a cheap Sim card. Crucial as driving in Sabah is not easy due to lack of signage.
Very central position so could walk everywhere. Good for us as we like to do our own thing.

I come to this hotel frequently, the staff/service, atmosphere, food and the rooms is definitely the reason I keep coming.
It’s close to a lot of shopping malls and night market is just next door great for those last minuet gifts.
The hotel is situated in the city centre and a lot of places of interest are walking distance.
You need to stay here to appreciate how a guest is treated from checking in to the way you are treated through out your stay. The buffet breakfast is to die for amazing variety and flavoursome to please all taste buds.
The rooms are modern, spacious and extremely clean.
You must upgrade to club. The View from your room is breathtaking with glass windows to the floor you won’t miss out on those spectacular water/ island views.
As the club lounge has amazing water views with a lot of snacks and beverages to choose from and everyday has a new variety.
I applaud your staff they are soooo friendly and happy to assist at any time and will go out of your way to make your stay a memorable one. You won’t be disappointed.
Thank you Le meridian. 😊

I booked this hotel based on its proximity to the markets but was surprised to see what else they offered.

While doing some shopping for fresh seafood, we were informed by the seller that Le Meridien provides a freezer for guests to keep their seafood. We were skeptical at first and thought it was rather unusual for a hotel to to that. But we still bought some seafood hoping that the ice would at least keep it cold for the whole night before our early flight the next day.

During check in, I asked whether they have a freezer, and true enough, there is a chest freezer at the concierge. The also offer packing services and will make sure your frozen seafood is properly sealed. Apart from that, knowing that i will check out at 5am, the hotel also offered packed breakfast.

Upon walking into the room, I can say that this is my favourite Le Meridien property so far (compared to KL and Putrajaya). Even though the room is a city view category, it is beautifully designed, uses spaces creatively, has multiple mirrors, floor to ceiling windows overlooking the city (luckily we had a partial sea view), and the bathroom is huge with both separated shower and tub.

Checking out was a breeze. The cab (Innova) we booked (since we were worried Grab is not available early in the morning) had waited at the lobby, and we just grabbed the 2 packed breakfast after returning our key cards. The packed breakfast consists of croissant sandwich, bottled orange juice, green apple, kitkat chocolate bar, a slice of banana cake and a yogurt.

If i have the opportunity to return to KK again in the future, I would definitely come back to this hotel.

We stayed here for three nights and it was wonderful. The breakfast was great too. I must thank Anna Wong for her wonderful and prompt service at lunch and breakfast. She was very warm and took care of our toddler’s needs. The restaurant near the pool side is pretty chilled out and quite reasonable. The roof top bar is amazing too for sundowners, amazing place. Also, the night market and Filipino market is super close. Also, the jessletn jetty point is a 5 mins drive.
Would stay here again if we go back to KK

We had a 9 day vacation at KK and decided to spread our stay over 2 hotels, one at the city center and the other with a private beach. Glad to have chosen Le Meridien for our city center stay. The hotel's interior looks modern and keep up with time. At check in, I was upgraded to a suite (from a seaview room) based on my Platinum status, a wonderful touch. The suite is huge and with a nice view of the ocean, most importantly, it is clean, modern and lined with latest amenities. Location of the hotel is great as it is near all the restaurants and malls in the city area, all within a short walk. The seafood night market is just right across the hotel and you can even get a 2 bar wifi signal! Staffs are very helpful too. The concierge (Rocky and Johua) has suggested 2 local tours which we took and made our stay even more meaningful and enjoyable. They have also contacted us in advance to prepare for the tour and also gave us towel and water on the day! a nice touch!

We also enjoyed the club lounge a lot. Visited the lounge daily for its great view, drinks/snacks and wonderful setting.

Truly enjoy the stay amd glad that we made the right choice in booking this hotel.
