Its one of the few remaining old (1954) hotels. So the decor is old style and cosy, more wood than steel. Breakfast is a la carte so thats a nice touch. The rooms are a little old but its comfortable Location is also good. Overall pleasant and I would stay there again.

Great location. Lovely staff but smells badly. Bathroom had cracks in floor, toilet seat and just overall very tired. As the oldest hotel in Sabah it really needs to be given some love to bring it back to its former glory. Breakfast has been outsourced and while lovely was very expensive hence I was usually the only customer.

Perfectly located and really friendly and helpful staff. Clean, comfortable and all of the facilities you'd expect. Everything you'd want from a reasonably priced hotel. Would happily recommend to anyone for a short stay in KK

Small hotel (35 rooms on three floors) with very well appointed/updated rooms and helpful staff. Well located for walking to tourist office, malls, ferries, Signal Hill, etc. Airport bus 6 min walk. Gaya St. is quieter (traffic-wise) than you might think. Our room (305) was large, with all conveniences. AC quiet. There is a restaurant on site but we preferred...

Average, old style hotel in a good location. Friendly staff. To be fair we only stayed one short night - had to leave at 4am to go to the airport so cannot comment on breakfast. Suited our needs on this occasion

Very simple but good and well maintenance. Location good in city center, near good options of local restaurants (ba ku te delicious) or sea food specialities. The staff of the hotel also deserve a congrats for their attention.

We came to Kota Kinabalu for tours...and were happy to find out the Jesselton Hotel was the one chosen by our tour company. From what we saw online, it looked like a delightful charming older hotel...and they did not disappoint. The staff were all very friendly and helpful...the rooms were very comfortable and spacious...the breakfasts were great...we could not have...

We stayed 2 nights in one of the deluxe rooms. While the room wasn't modern, it was spacious, comfortable and decent value for money. There was some traffic noise from the busy street out the back, but not enough to cause problems unless you are sensitive to such things. The internet was good and the staff were pleasant and helpful...
