I'm surprised that some people have given this hotel less than positive reviews: I was very impressed with D'Borneo. In fact, we'd planned to stay in the Jesselton, but after checking both hotels' rooms, decided that the D'Borneo's rooms were of an almost similar standard, at a significantly lower price. Their foyer is bright, clean and attractive, with a selection...

I was looking for a not so expensive decent place to stay in KK. We stayed here for 2 nights, first on the way to Mout KK and then once on the way back as we very happy with the service. The room was clean enough, not spotless , shower had soap, shower cap, towels. The nice thing was having...

The good thing about D'Borneo is the location. It's conveniently located at the city centre, along KK malls, handicraft market and the waterfront area. In fact, it is one of the better budget hotels within the area. The receptioninst was friendly and they were very prompt in replying emails. However, don't expect much from this hotel. The room we had...

Hotel is located close to the main KK malls and the waterfront. It's close location to the market also means that there's usually strong odours wafting around! The rooms are basic and have TVs with local channels (no cable) and air con. A private double costs RM180 which kind of surprised us. The rooms weren't very clean and we had...

The receptionists are helpful at book in and the rooms were clean and adequate. The shower was effective and the linen was clean. For the price it was up to what we had experienced in other parts of Malaysia. We did not have breakfast as we left very early. We left luggage with them for a week, which we found...

When my wife and I entered the "hotel" we got a very good first impression from the receptionist, who was very friendly and welcoming. We thought that we had found a great place to stay and decided to stay there for the remaining week of our trip. unfortunately first impressions can be deceiving. We dropped our bags in the room,...

I chose this hotel thanks to the recommendation of Lonely Planet, and spent 3 nights without significant problems. The room was relatively clean, but very small than I expected. So, staying with my wife and 9 year old boy was not so satisfactory. Although there wasn't elevator inside the building, the hotel staffs were kind enough to help me to...

I started my Gecko Travel (not to be confused with Gecko Adventures) trek around Borneo in this hotel. Admittedly I was pretty jet-lagged from the flight from London but the hotel wasn’t exactly the best, OK for a night though. The shower cubicle fell apart if you so much as knocked it and I heard this was similar in other...
