Located on Jalan Magazine, centrally in the city of George Town, this historical site was famously known as Wembley Park, the name bestowed during the British rule. The Wembley's 415 comfortable guestrooms inclusive of Suites and Executive Rooms are exquisitely designed with batik-style motif, complement with luxurious amenities and complimentary WiFi access. Offering panoramic views of the north and south channels including the iconic Penang Bridge and the city of George Town, The Wembley's guestrooms and suites are well-appointed with modern facilities that are practical to both business and leisure travellers. Guests will appreciate the Hotel's convenient accessibility to major commercial and government offices, cultural and historical sites, quaint shops, shopping complexes, bazaars and a variety of popular local food fare. Stayed with St Giles Wembley, 1st time with my family during our recent Penang trip. The rooms we stayed in, were cleaned and we could request daily housekeeping as the hotel would only do alternate days of housekeeping. The breakfast spread buffet was great and we were enjoying for 5 mornings of buffets without getting sick of it. My mother loved their tau huey - warm and fresh. The front desk staff and the staff manning the buffet were friendly too. Will choose this hotel for my next trip again :)

Greeted very warmly by Faiz and he was very accommodating to our requests for seaview, late checkout and some printings we need to make. Kudos to Faiz for that! We got the 27th floor, it is pretty small for a Superior King but my goodness the room view was excellent! All basic necessities provided. Room was 90% carpeted, hence I would really recommend to vacuum more often as my sinus strike on our first night. Location is walking distance to Malls, just a crossover to The Top, and the free CAT bus service stops just across at Kamdar as well. Breakfast was quite a spread but I would recommend them to improve on the taste, not just focus on the quantity. :) Kudos to The Wembley for all the accommodating staff.

Hotels in Georgetown had gone up considerably after the COVID lockdown and I went in search of a hotel for 6 adults 1 child, no need for breakfast. Well, I decided to try The Wembley. I have stayed at the hotel behind and most often in front. The first problem was getting 3 rooms. Trip had only 2 so I had to get one from Agoda. The location is central. Lots of food in the area if you now the area, Unfortunately, many of the guest are unaware. Well at worst case I had ordered Indian food for my brother-in-law via Grab, just get them to drop it at reception and inform reception. Let me share a secret here, ordering Indian food via Grab is a good choice to eat in the comfort of the room and a reasonable price. When I registered myself in I had informed them of my other relatives coming on the following day and if they could to provide us with rooms on the same floor. Well they were veery nice and gave me a room with a view. Excellent place to sit at the window to analyse our movements in the day and do a arial recce of the area we wish to manourve to access for our next meals. Look out for the bright street area. The room was well sealed for sound so we had uninterrupted rest and privacy. The bathroom was spacious and soaps provided were off reasonable quality. The beds were very comfortable with sufficient pillows. The air-conditioning was just nice. The staff were very hospitable although F&B could do with a brief on the hotel promotions and discounts. However, the reception was exceptionally warm and made the stay there very enjoyable as they were very accommodating and customer oriented, my kudos to Adam and Nabila who are always at our service to provide service from their hearts. And not forgetting Hidayah from F&B who served us when we went for breakfast to checkout the food. Well honestly, there is so much good affordable food in Penang and the convenience of GRAB, I won't bother with breakfast at the hotel because I visit Penang for their excellent road side cuisine offered that is at a fraction of the cost from where I come from, eat at the restaurant if the weather is too hot or pouring, F&B should consider order in food to be served at the restaurant . We will be back.

The location was great for us to walk around and explore nearby shopping malls and reach areas like Little India and Gurney Walk in a matter of 15 minutes via Grab. We could also take walks to nearby night markets and shops to try the street food and Nasi Kandar, which was great!
However, these are our gripes with the experience:
1. Rooms are cleaned on alternate days, so you'd have to call housekeeping should you run out of amenities 2. The beds weren't the most comfortable, because the pillows were rather thin and so couldn't support our necks that well. 3. We opted for breakfast at the hotel, and for the week we stayed at the hotel the food options were the same. You can imagine how sick we were by the last day. 4. At breakfast, the food is also not replenished actively and so we had to give up on trying a number of dishes because we simply weren't ready to waste time waiting 5. While there were Malay, Chinese, and Western fare available at the hotel breakfast, Indian food options weren't there at all. If we wanted a roti canai, we had to walk out for a quick fix.
While the rooms were also smaller than we expected, we appreciate the staff who took our request for adjourning rooms into account. Overall this was a pleasant experience, but we'd recommend skipping the hotel breakfast unless you're going there for a very short trip.

Smallish rooms and very small bathrooms. Music plays in the hallways, and you can hear it in the room (faintly but definitely). The water bottle is provided to fill at a water dispenser located near the elevator on every floor. The breakfast buffet is generous with several fresh prepared options and various cuisines. Hostess shows you to your table and flips the place mats to indicate the table is occupied. Just across the street is One Avenue Mall, which is connected via a walkway on the 2nd floor to another mall. Food courts and at least one sit-down restaurant (Pizzacolia in 2nd mall) The pool on the 11th floor only has sun in the morning. Sky bar on the 30th floor has reasonable prices and indoor and outdoor seating. We spent several pleasant hours there.

Nicely located, near the old Komtar tower and 1st avenue mall. Booked 2 Urban King rooms. Nice rooms. I liked the idea that you have a jug that you can refill freely at the water dispenser on each floor. Going eco. Breakfast was right up there amongst the best I ever had. Nice little gym and swimming pool. Like the idea of free popcorn and water available in the lobby area near the reception. If you don't mind waling then it's a good hotel to stay. I have stayed at a few St Gilles hotel. So far it seems that Penang one is the best.

Pros: Hot and cold water functioning well. Good water pressure. Decent bathroom. Somewhat quick response (30mins waiting) for housekeeping request such as coffee/tea, extra towels.
Cons : front desk professional service can be better. After all you are the frontier of your hotel. First impression counts. No matter what is the crisis, stay calm, collected and do not show disgusted face. E.g. when customer explained or asked parking ticket error, room service, sanitisation protocol, safety protocol.
The hotel room (stayed in Deluxe) carpet needs a deep cleaning or remove completely. The pillows have brown stains. Mattress is a crater. wooden cupboards, tables, side tables - showing their age and scratch marks, all these needs to be changed, hence the title of a much needed renovation.
The pool has too many green moss floating about as you swim. It feels like you are in an open pond. It needs cleaning.

On arrival at the Checkin counter the 2 staff member on duty were quite rude no greeting just asked for ID. Laugh at us as we were having difficulty understanding them not because their English was limited it was due to a lot of noise around us. No information was provided by both staff we were handed the room cards and told we were checked in we then had to ask where breakfast was served, time, internet access and also what our room number was. The hotel lacked to provided information such as the restaurant is closed due to a lunch time function. The breakfast buffet had a large assortment of food to choose from however, we were there for 5 days and it was the same menu daily also the restaurant area need some cleaning done as there were areas over looked such as the back of the oven (dirty fan)at the egg counter which faces the public. The hotel it’s self needs a up date as sheets I think we’re meant to be white however, looked more mustard in colour, small holes in the linen bath towels were very old. We notice on Checkin that they do not have daily house keeping that it would be provided every second day. If you require anything you need to ring house keeping. Even though advertise in all their room vacancies on various site there is daily house keeping & free water provided daily this did not happen unless to contact house keeping. The hotel advertise a sky bar so we decide to visit well the views are fantastic but, no cocktails are service and the whole area looked very unsafe floor boards need replacing ASAP. Over all a very disappointing stay.

Strongly recommended hotel for service efficiency, friendly and accommodating staff and an exceptional breakfast, which leaves one spoilt for choice. All cultures are considered and catered for. The staff at breakfast are an absolute delight - considerate of ones dietary requirements. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. We particularly liked the water dispenser in the passage way. In this way, plastic bottles were avoided. A glass bottle is available in the bar fridge to refill. The hotel is centrally situated and easy access to malls, food, coffee shops etc.

The hotel rating doesn’t justify the physical experience at all. I booked an Executive Deluxe King room for 4 days 3 nights, when I open the room, it was dusty and dirty. The hotel stated the room comes with complimentary drinks in the fridge however the fridge was emptied. Due to eco-friendly operation, they do cleaning for alternate days, they didn’t come to the room to clean up or offer to top up the bottled waters at all, I have to call them several times until they pick up the call to request to top up the bottled mineral water. The executive lounge was bad, the smells stinks when you open the lounge as food trays was left opened, drinks was limited by coffee machine. I visited the gym, there was no towel and bottled water, the water dispenser was emptied. The machines are majority faulty and it felt like the machines are there for display purposes. Overall, with the price paid for the hotel stay, it didn’t justify the experience at all. You could jolly well pay a lower price for such hotel experience.
