Reserved a stay for my wife for her Birthday so she could escape the kids for a few days. Due the fact I work away from home sometimes I was unable to give an exact date for the reservation. The kind very helpful staff and management were only too happy to instead of make a reservation send my wife a...

Macalister Mansion (MM) presents itself very well online but in reality, the property was a little disappointing. The one thing that was a major let down was the pool, if you can call it a pool. It looked more like a kiddie pool and is situated at the front of the property near the street. The bar area next to...

Went to Penang for a short break as part of my itinerary in Malaysia and had the opportunity to dine at the dining room, and just one word to describe my experience, it was simply sublime! Great quality ingredients were executed so beautifully; they were so well balanced, simply palatable and visually stunning! Great achievements in Malaysian Culinary Scene. Thank...

Historical and chic hotel. The swimming pool is not in the best location as it lacks privacy. The Room 6 that we booked is spacious with comtemporary furnishings. But we preferred a enclosed wardrobe. Location of hotel is not ideal. Staff are very friendly n accommodating.

I was travelling alone in Asia and, for my birthday, I decided to treat myself to the best hotel I could find in Penang. I chose the Macalister Mansion because of the photos of the rooms. The previous night I had stayed in the new G hotel, which was fantastic, and I would highly recommend that one (there are two...

Was given a treat for a business proposal & very impressed with the premise both external & internal. The ambience was impeccable, kudos to the interior designer! From living room to bar to yard, everything was awesomely decorated with much thoughts put into. Unfortunately, the male's toilet was stinking foul, never expected coming from such a posh establishment. Service was...

Undeniably the best luxury hotel in Penang, with its modern interior and polished finishings. The rooms are all decorated differently, and they're all amazing and comfortable. It's Malaysia's only hotel listed under the highly-acclaimed Design Hotels collection. The mansion itself has an understated quality and crisp aura that makes it easy to love, with different spaces for different occasions and...

We recently stayed at Macalister Mansion for a few nights. It was our first trip to Penang and we had high expectations of this hotel based on their website. However, the Macalister Mansion exceeded our expectations on all counts - the room was certainly one of the best we've stayed in anywhere, the service was excellent and the ambience is...

The tea was tasty and the pastries got good varieties but need improvement. The scones were too dry, the mushroom soup were cold needs to be warm. The macaroons were a bit too sweet. The place is nice with three different options concept rooms for afternoon tea
