We stayed in the PalanquInn and Dwell Loft Suites for 5 and 9 days respectively. The units in both houses are clean and comfortable within a traditional style environment. Bangkok Lane is a one-way Street and therefore not as busy as we had expected. On the contrary it was fairly quiet in the evening and during the night; in addition,...

I was really excited when I checked Palanquinn out online and via the reviews. However, when I arrived, I was quite unimpressed with what I saw. It was definitely not worth the RM220 per night. My mezzanine room was on the latest property of Palanquinn on 20 Bangkok Lane, just opposite the original Dwell suites. The room smelt musty and...

Had a great time even though I was only there for one night for a brief stopover. Georgetown is a lovely place and this place was just as lovely. My room was quite large and I had a ceiling fan (Air Con is available as well) which I was grateful for because I don't like AC.

I stayed here in May 2012 - the place is lovely and comfortable. It was clean and was an authentic experience staying in a shop house. Some gripes were that the open bath room could be cleaner and slippers provided as it could get dirty or wet. I am a light sleeper and staying on the 2nd floor, I could...

This is by far the most amazing hotel I have stayed in. Its so homey and comfortable that you feel right at home. And the staff are absolutely nice, polite and extremely helpful. Its in a really convenient area, 10 minutes walk to the shopping centre. I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit the beautiful Island, It's...

I stayed on the room at the front of the house on the bottom floor. Room is spacious and well furnished, the only complaints I had were the noise from people walking around upstairs and coming from the street but both are easily blocked out with earplugs when sleep is required so it was a small complaint. The host Kelvyn...

My sister and I stayed first at the owners' neighboring property, Palanquinn, and on the second night, stayed at Dwell Suites, Loft 2. We had the second floor to ourselves, which had the bedroom, family room, and two bathrooms. The Suites was lovely and clean, and we were happy to stay in a heritage house. We were told that the...

A cheesy title it may be but it really does sum up our stay at Dwell. It really is a home-from-home. Kelvyn made us feel so welcome –explaining both history & culture and like others have said you don’t feel like a tourist – more of a friend visiting friends. We had no problem with the noise on the mezzaine...

I stayed at the Dwell and the Heritage from the 17th of February to the 5th of March 2012. I was most impressed by the very personal and family like care provided at the PalanquInn (both Dwell and Heritage - as it is run by the same owners). A most kind welcome letter awaited me, as I arrived later than...

We stayed here for 3 nights in the upstairs bedroom with a bathroom on the balcony. This place has a wonderful feel abou it with plenty of niceties about it that you would not ordinarily get (complimentary bottled water everyday in addition to the chilled water in the common area, use of the common area with fridge/freezer/microwave and all the...

Thanks Pauline for choosing to stay with us and taking the time to write a review through Trip Advisor. DWELL is 3-bedroom retro-esque, fun, casual and affordable bed and breakfast. Located a stone’s throw from sister property, PalanquInn, DWELL is part of Bangkok Lane’s marvellous row of heritage townhouses. conceptualized for today’s growing flashpackers.A flashpacker shares many of the characteristics of a backpacker: independence, no fixed itinerary and long periods of travel to more exotic and far-flung destinations.
