Stayed for a week whilst in Penang and it was a nice hostel with good facilities. The dorm was four person with a little light and locker per person which was nice and the room was a good size. The downstairs area had drinks available with a good TV area to chill in, was an enjoyable stay

The hostel has been around for a few years now and the owners have done a great job maintaining the space. It looks new, spacious and freshly renovated - very pleasant. I traveled with my two sisters and we spent two nights here. Room is spotless and shower is strong. The host even offered us cutlery and utensils warmly upon... More

Love this hostel. They have few female dorms upstairs and mix gender dorms(with friends) with 4 beds and 6 beds that are double decker, there's private room for friends who don't want to share the same room with strangers but the price is slightly more expensive compared to upstairs' dorms. The rooms are clean and neat, I love how the... More

I stay here every time I go to Penang - the room is clean, comfy, and staff are friendly, not to mention location is great too. Plus, safety is a big deal for me, and I definitely felt safe here. And if you're unsure of where to eat, etc. the staff, manager and even the owner are more than happy... More

I stayed there a week to find family and it's clear these guys currently work hard to be no. 1. For breakfast included one day I had roti, 2 eggs, 2 toast baked beans, 4 mini bananas, cup of milk ceareal, coffee, tea, mango juice this morning. My traveller friend in another nice hostel said jealously 'whaaat I only had... More

With the abundant good reviews and I agreed with most of them, I would like to use this platform to sing praise to the owners. It's clearly you folks have the utmost passion to run Ryokan @ Muntri Street and keeping it at its highest standard even for a 'backpacker' accommodation. First visit was a couple years ago and I... I stayed there in April and enjoyed it very much. It's a hostel, but a very nice one. Clean rooms, very kind and helpful staff, free breakfast, has artsy interior and good location. Definitely a nice place to stay in when visiting Penang.

-The hostel's environment is very clean and silence, & suitable for all backpackers. The bathroom is clean, and shower gel is prepared by this hostel too. The location is very good and near to all tourist attractions, such as street art, 3D art, and so on. It has save our time to take bus to our destination as well. -... More
