Ryokan Muntri has the best location for exploring Penang. It’s located on street stressing with famous and buzzing Love lane, and yet it’s much quieter. Is perfect combination of being in the center of Penang and not being disturbed by night. The hostel is located in historical house with graffiti. The entrance and outdoor seating gives very special vibe. People...

Staying at Ryokan was a great experience. The rooms included a shelf, power, and light for each bed in the dorm. Large bathrooms, and the daily breakfast was better then any other hostel I've come across. Plus the staff were very nice to help us out with any questions. Highly Recommend!

Very clean rooms, common areas and amenities. The shower heads are like rain fall and the beds a bigger than normal single beds. No squeaks...

The staff are very friendly and approachable. I left my umbrella on the lobby and I mailed them about it and they kept it...

The rooms are great and very clean. They change the towel everyday. Breakfast is included and the foods are superb! Location is very strategic, near to great attractions. It is advice to walk outside at night to see the street foods and bars.

This hostel is located in a great location, serves reasonably good breakfast, provides towels and has clean rooms and has a hangout/working area. In short, all that you are looking for in a hostel room. There may be better hostels in Penang but they are probably more expensive and as such, I will give this hostel five stars. If you're...

There is also a nice, affordable, restaurant right in front, with good food and friendly staff, we missed our breakfast in the hostel and we went there, and was excellent :)
