It was very easy to communicate with the owner for the reservations and various arrangements prior to arrival. I was welcomed and shown around and my scooter was ready for me to discover the island. My room was basic but good enough. The outside area where guests can enjoy a drink looking at the life on the sea was pleasant. The guesthouse is located in the Chinese village and you can discover the laid-back life style of the Chinese community, the shipyard, the anchovies factory,...all at walking distance. I had a nice one night stay. Yet, I have been quite disappointed by the island itself having so little to offer. One night was enough.

Took my two kids to experience life in a fishing village and we werent disappointed..the homestay was v clean and i was impressed that the room even had a hairdryer..although food isnt serve at the homestay they do have snacks (maggie in the cup etc) and drinks for sale.i would suggest that you bring your own towels as their towels are quite thin.

the owners were v friendly and helpful..we spend our morning exploring the nearby boat, satay and anchovy factory on foot ( less than 10 min walk) and then rented fishing rods to fish at the homestay itself for the rest of the day..the kids also got to feed a family of hornbills that visit twice a day as well as the homestay's pet fishes..we rented a car for rm70 a day (at the jetty when we arrived) to drive out for seafood and to see the sunset at beach on the other side of the island.

Def planning a return trip in the nearby future

A nice place to chill, has nice room , thoug basic, with air con n fan n attached bathroom n window !. If u r for a quiet, private, away from the hustle n bustle of a normal hotel, Air BnB this is the place, almost like a hostel but with a view !. The place is on stilt over the Straits of Melaka, u can't beat that. It has a jetty about 30m out with rickety but safe plank walk where u can fish, by the way if recreational fishing is yr part time hobby, this is the place with rods u can hire n live fishing lure u can buy n if u r lucky u might catch a big one ! We like the place because it's out of the way, quiet, about 10 min by bike from the jetty/ Pangkor Fire Station. The place hv a kitchen where u can cook, free water n coffee n tea. The caretaker Mr Loh, a ifriendly n modest guy, they have a lady keeping the place clean. Just to caution, monkey do come in to check the kitchen so don't leave food outside especially at night cos u might find the trash bins overturned. The residence hornbill flies in for a visit to the place in the morning, nice. About 4 house away is a boat building place, worth a visit .

This Fish House is located in Pangkor Island on over the first stop on the jetty. In fact this owner have few local guest house in this area. Pangkor Fish House only starter last year. To get to there you can actually walk but is about 15 mins - 20 mins walk as when you are out of the jetty you will see a local coffee shop(Nice toast and half boiled egg done) just turn to the right hand side n walk all the way up a little slope and down then you will be able to locate this place, but if you have big luggage same just turn right look up for No: 22 they will arrange a free shuttle there. The WiFi access is available and works well. Each room here will provide you with air conditioning and a ceiling fan. Private bathroom also comes with a hot shower. You can enjoy sea view from the room. At Pangkor Fish House other facilities offered at the property include a shared lounge. The property offers free parking. THE Fish House is located on the water off of Pangkor's shores. Facing the ocean stretched across the horizon, this destination makes for a perfect place for activities such as fishing and sight-seeing. The guy owner is very humble and nice person, I was there for 3 nights stay, he will always ask me what i want to eat at lunch and dinner, he will drive out to buy it for me. They have a well equipped open kitchen all guest to use. You may buy some stuff(stored them in the fridge) at the small market and cook for yourself or cook even your catch of fish. This place is really good for family and group gathering then you may order their steamboat buffet. They do daily cleaning if required. The room can be a bit small but is simple and comfortable. I sleep very well every night. Rods for rental if you need it for fun fishing, if you are lucky you will get a big one. Onsite they do sell beer, drink, cup noodles and titbits etc. Overal "A kind of Kelong Staying but A very different feel from those olden kind sharing of mix dorms bed, This is really much better and clean. " A great place to socialize and meet new people or just simply relax ". Last A BiG"Thank you" to Mr. Tan and the staff Mr. Happy that really take care of me so well, i had a sudden toothache and they send to to their local dental clinic and send me back after seeing the dental, really appreciated.

Stayed in Pangkor Fish House for 3 nites. Just love the sound of the sea waves, it is so relaxing. In fact, I was so charmed that I recorded the sound of sea waves.

Host and wife, Mr Tan and Joyce provided good service too. Mr Tan provided free rides to town and offer good advice on sightseeing places. Joyce looked out for the interests of the guests, which is very assuring.

There is wifi and a common area to chill. A kitchen is also available.

A good place to chill and relax.

My sister and I have just returned from 6nights stay at Pangkor FishHouse. We booked a room/queenbed with our own balcony each...as we appreciate our own space as the room is small. Only this row of rooms on the right side has private balconies- room 3&4 has adjoining balconies.
Every morning we sit at our balcony drinking tea...taking in the splendid seaview. In the evening we are lulled by the gentle lapping of the waves....sending us to sleep. The kitchenette has all the utensils needs to cook a meal; coffee & tea are on the house. There is a hot and cold water dispenser. Nearby is Sungai Pinang Kechil- a van shuttles you to/fro to get your meals from SPK various coffee-shops, restaurants and foodstalls. The food is streetfood style, simple but delicious....reminiscent of our growing up years in Seremban (our hometown)! And it's so incredibly low priced. A bowl of delicious chicken curry mee, MYR5.80, a cup of local coffee MYR1.50! We liked to tarbao food back to enjoy eating at the dining areas...seaview all around with refreshing sea breeze.
We love lounging at the Rooftop -catching daily sun rise with a cup of tea! Many evenings were spent sitting, relaxing and capturing its idyllic surroundings.
All these for the price of MYR120 per night!
Mr Tan is a remarkable friendly, easy going boss, owner of this wonderful place. He is enthusisatic about his guests having a wonderful stay. Always available- always smiling! He shares his fish-farm (his hobby) with his gusts. His hired help, Kansan is around to shuttle you around. (Nearby, SPK, jetty -shuttle service is free. MYR10 To Pangkor Town.
Mr Tan called us a taxi, MYR20/one way- to get us over to Coral Beach...for all the beach activities, swimming in the sea. There's lovely restaurants on that beach -for some finer dining!
Mr Tan also arranges charter of boats for island-tours, beach hopping, snorkeling. There's also_Bikes MYR25, bicycles, MYR15 for 24hours rentals. It is a great way to see the island on a motorbike! On the west side of Pangkor island, stop by to experience hornbill feeding (check it out with my Tan!)
All in all...my sister and I had a really fabulous stay. And we plan to come again....

The staff at Pangkor Fish house are friendly and helpful. We also get to feed some hornbills that flew to Pangkor Fish House in the morning around 7:30-8am. What a pleasant surprise for us to have a close up view of the hornbill. Each room has a private balcony space where u can do fishing at night if the tides are high. There is a nice lounge area and a common kitchen at the rear end of the corridor for us to use. Love everything here at this homestay.

The only complaint I have is the room is pretty small n practically u don’t have luggage space. Plus If they can add a mirror in the room will be nice.

Clean, comfortable and great service from owner and staff. Nice provision of communal kitchen , dining and resting area. Spectacular sunrise and close to town for great local food. We caught a few fishes in our spare time too. Owner, Mr Tan is extremely helpful. You will not regret staying here. Massage in town - 88 is so much better than those near the beach resorts too. Mr Tan will help with directions to the evening hornbills feeding area. Best part about staying at this Fish House is, no mozzies and great sea breeze💜💛💚.

We booked for 3 nights and stayed for 5. We had such a wonderful time on Pangkor Island and Mr Tan and his staff are extremely helpful, organising scooter hire for us, telling us the best beaches to visit and making us feel welcome. The upstairs verandah is the perfect place to enjoy a drink in the afternoon before heading out to dinner. The fish house is only about 10 minutes walk from the village so really convenient. The rooms were very clean and the wifi was good. It was great to stay in a small village away from the tourist area.

Do you mean, the accommodation? Well, they do offer fishing equipments! Unfortunately, I did not fish when I was there, so I'm sorry I can't answer your question! You can still give it a shot though 😊

It depends on what interests your teenagers! Since it's an island, don't expect what the city offers you (: Do check out the hornbills, rent a vehicle or a bicycle to explore the island. The teens can opt for some water sports, too.
