totally recommend this excellent hostel. it's 1 minute walk from SPK jetty but be warned that jetty is not always open so you might have to walk 1km from the main jetty. or take a taxi of course! hostel is comfortable and is in an old chinese style shophouse. it's in a busy neighbourhood with all sorts of folks going about their daily lives. i breakfasted in a malay restaurant and enjoyed eggs, rice and vegetables. would buy some fried peanut and red bean balls from the chinese lady on the street. veggie meals were a problem to find but the guy at the end of the street (on the left) will cook all his regular meat based meals to a vegetarian recipe if requested. i did not try this. back to the hostel... Miss Yeat (sorry to spell this incorrectly) is a very sweet and pleasant young hostess and it was very nice to talk to her. she is very helpful. i rented a bicycle for RM15. there are some steep hills around the island!! very good aircon, a washing machine is available...awesome! will try to return to this very super hostel in the future.

Joyce (owner) was very friendly, she give all the detail about Pulau Pangkor where to eat, visit and also provide us a map, simple and easy to understand. It also very near with jetty, just few steps away. The room was basic with good value of price, clean and new since they just opened the guesthouse not long ago.
Surrounding of the guesthouse are fish farm, it is where I can feel the life style of the fish farm. It is also near with boat factory, fish manufactory ( where you can buy their local fish product in a cheaper price then at Pangkor Town ), fish farm trip and etc.
Totally will go there for 2nd time.

The owner/chinese origin, I found such a nice women she always happy to care & support to her clinets who residing their guest house. She is really active, smart & helpful women.
Even I was far from home, during my two night stay, I felt it is my own home.
Its not big enough guest house, though their service seems like star hotel in KL centre, very neat & clean, I recomend to tourist to visit this guest house. I was there in June with my british girls friends, we enjoyed alot!!

Nice and clean guesthouse in the middle of the residential village. Lots of good and affordable food around the area, even late at night. However, if you're sensitive to sounds, ask for a room further to the back because the street is very happening early in the morning as locals comes for breakfast in this area.

After reading the positive reviews here, we gave this guesthouse a try by staying two nights. Pangkor Guesthouse is located within short walking distance from Sungai Pinang Kecil Jetty (the first stop from Lumut Jetty). The room rate was RM100 per night without breakfast for a twin room. The room is considered small but sufficient for us to have a simple stay. The room has two single beds with en-suite bathroom. Do bring along your own towels and cleaning toiletries. Nevertheless, shampoo and shower gel are provided.

I found the bed was comfortable but the pillow was rather hard. The fan has no speed to be changed (either 'on' or 'off') and it can be quite noisy when it is 'on'. The room has air-conditioner if you off the ceilling fan. Do close the room window to avoid sound from next door (houses next to Guesthouse). There are two wall power outlets situated next to one of the beds. No wardrobe in the room but there are hooks and hangers for your clothes and towels.

Free wifi for the in-house guests. Free drinking water is available. You can have card games, read books or watch tv in the common area of the guesthouse. You can purchase canned drinks and bottled mineral water from the guesthouse owner, Joyce. She is friendly and helpful in recommending us places to visit and the nearby food stalls. We rented a scooter from her with a rate of RM60 per day. We thought that scooter or motorcycle was easier to travel around the island. RM5 of petrol was more than enough for us to ride for two days.

Having a short trip 2D1N with family in Pangkor for island festival. We have a nice and short stay in this GH. The 1st impression of this GH to me is the floor very clean and it shoe off in the GH area, 2nd i find there are a lot travelling related reading material, comic, magazine and a relaxing lobby which you can spend a day with just lying there with a book and look at very locally street in front of the GH. You also can have all this at up stair balcony. Small pantry is available for water refill. You can get variety of local food a long the street, nearby area for breakfast, lunch and dinner too. Is very convenience. The GH owner is very nice and helpful and willing to share her experience of Pangkor island. Highly recommand GH.

We stayed 3D2N and it was good. The guesthouse is simple, clean and unique in its own way. The owner, Joyce Guok is very friendly and she shared with us plenty of info. She has a list of recommended places to visit and things to do, and emailed us once we made payment online, so at least we have time to do some planning before we arrived.

This fishing village is really a good choice, an experience different from the usual beach resort. Life is so simple and safe here. Young kids walking and cycling without fear, even at night. The villagers are so friendly. They will talk to you if you smile to them. They will tell you where to go and what to eat. This is also a place for lots of photo taking. Old buildings, activities and scenes - fishing boats, sunrise, boat making, fish farm, market, anchovy drying, wild boar feeding etc.

If you want to experience a laid back life, this is a place to be!

This guest house is located very near with the first jetty which is Sungai Pinang Kecil. You just need to walk around 2 minutes after you go down from the jetty. After you meet the T-Junction from jetty, walk to the right and you will find a small 2 storey house with bed logo at your left after 4 or 5 building.

When i was coming, joyce as the owner welcome me and give me a map of Pangkor. She also give explanation about place of interest among the pangkor as well as the food surrounding the area. She also can manage you to take extra activities such as water sport and motor renting.

There are only few rooms available since its just a small guesthouse but the room is good enought and worthed for the price you pay. I take a twin bed room and the room is clean as well as the bathroom inside. Every room got a small bathroom with warm water available. The bed, pillow, and blanket are fair enough with the price you pay.

On the second floor you will find something that i consider extraordinary which is library. Its quiet unique to have a small library inside a small guesthouse but it's great. They also have a bed from the fish net and its quiet comfortable to sleep there while you are reading the books.

Surrounding area there are a lot of food available. But i was wonder why mostly the food available are noodle eventhough with different variation. Just across the guesthouse you will find a thaifood restaurant and the owner is originally come from Thailand. Eventhough there are several big dried seafood distributor nearby the area, i suggest you to buy dried seafood from the shop across the guesthouse because the price slightly cheaper. The owner said actually the distributor buy the dried seafood from this small shop and resell and with the higher price especially in the town area.

Firstly, it is just a 3-minute walk from the jetty, you save on taxi or bike.Next, the room is well equipped: air-cond, private bathroom with hot shower, and even a hair dryer. The lady, Ms Joyce and even her mother-in-law are accommodating, Joyce will suggest several new attractions, the old lady will tell you which shop has the best coffee, which outlet has the best midnight noodles. Next, there is a well stock fridge, with beers and drinks. You just record your consumption and pay the following morning-base on mutual trust. Finally, the lady allows the guest to visit their small fish farm as compliment. Last but not least, the price is at least half of those by the beach.

Strategic location, less than 150meters away from Jetty

Got nice breakfast around. But, if compared ipoh and penang, of course, you will be disappointed about the taste. Anyway, for me,being food hunter, I still love the food, especially the coffee in any of the shops...opposite spk, got nice fried rice during lunch time

Surrounded by fishing village with warm welcome by local people. They always like to talk to you, guide you to explore the island and buy fresh seafood.

Owner of the guesthouse is nice. They will guide you, explain to you their local life. I think, in pangkor, if you are looking for fishing village life, this will be the place.

BUT... BUT.... BUT..
to pay such price , get a bed that sink down (seem like the bed spring damaged already) when you sleep with hard pillow, without free mineral water supply (of course I support recycling program) without free coffee supplement will be bit not keep in par with current market price. To pay rm 80-100 to get a room for just air conditioning room with bathroom and sleep, I think will be bit pricy if you compare to tune hotel. Some more, room is without tv, tune hotel has. But, if you are the one looking for no t.v. in room, never care about the comfort of bed and just looking for fishing village , then this may your choice. But, bear in mind, there are some other similar guest house with better offer (In my opinion only) available there also. Anyway, this guesthouse has other better guesthouse (on the sea one) under their same company, which that one sound better a lot, which I would recommend that one rather than this one.

Thank you for the feedback of the bed. We have look into that room and bed condition and already change the spoilt base of the bed. For pillow, some guests prefer hard pillow, some guest prefer soft pillow. We will change according to guest preferance upon request. Currently we are using soft pillow majority. But again guests feel free to feedback for change. we are running guesthouse concept are having most common facility shared in the hall. TV, drinking water, kattle, some tea and coffee are shared in common area where guest can feel free to have it yourself. All our rooms are equipped with: fan, aircon, hot shower, hair dryer, shampoo, towel and wifi connection are also available in the room. For taste of food, it is very subjective. Some people like it, some poeple dislike. Everywhere have thier own unique local food.
