Detailed Reviews
We had a great stay at Ombak, really friendly management and staff. The rooms were very basic, but what can you expect at the price. We stayed 5 nights at Ombak and had a good night sleep, the bathrooms are very small but enough space for us. We we're offered breakfast which had a few options including toast and eggs, fruit and a few other bits which was all included in the price of the room. These chalets are really close to the beach and great value for money. Personally we preferred the beach opposite Ombak rather than the short walk to Coral Beach which we found to be slightly busier. I would recommend Ombak to other travellers seeking a cheap room to leave your stuff and enjoy the island.

We loved our time at Ombak Inn, the lovely breakfast buffet was the icing on the cake. The owner is a friendly and helpful lady, her daughters also help out and they're great too. We did a lot of shopping around on Nipah (as we have a strict "no booking ahead while backpacking" policy) and, although accommodation here is pricier than other places in Malaysia, Ombak was the best value for money. The rooms are quaint cabins with A/C, tv and attached bath, 70 RM per night including breakfast buffet.... pancakes, fruit, toast, eggs, sausages, coffee, juice... The walk down the road past the end of Nipah and over to Coral bay is well worth it.

We find Ombak Inn a cosy place to stay. The owner, Pn Nani, was very nice and homely, so were the staff.
Very near to the beach which has awesome view of sunset.
The room is ok, clean and tidy, expected for the price we paid.
We would recommend Ombak Inn for those visiting Pangkor Island.

We booked a double bed room 2 weeks ago via phone call and via whatsapp message to make it more clear . During the phone booking we ask for any deposit if needed , the lady mentioned don't need to pay any deposit . However when we arrived , they give us a standard room with 2 single beds . And we mentioned that we booked a double bed , they say only this room is available now and we cant choose we dont pay any deposit on booking . So all the conversation about on phone booking is just cheated ? It's ok we dont want to argue during our holiday & accepted it . But the chalet is very old and found blood spots on the bed . Very old and dirty chalet . However, I still accepted it without any complaint . During the night , cannot sleep well & wake up 6.30 am because of noisy neighbor room. Whole family sit outside and chatting loudly . Feels like i am in Pasar Malam . Moreover , the wifi is only available near to lobby & there is no any free breakfast .
Luckily i stayed only 1 night .

Visited ombak inn last month. After reading fairly good review on tripadvisor about this resort, i decided to give it a try. Its even ranked 2nd after pangkor laut which i feel in love after a visit early in february. I know its a budget hotel but with good hospitality any resort can be most welcoming. I google online, the rates is between 80-150 only. I booked online and the owner said just bank in 50 rm for deposit. And voila booking done for deluxe premium.
When the day came, me, my parent and my 10 and 5 years old brother arrived at the resort without any hassle. Perfectly timing. The resort is strategically situated right infront of the beach. Merely 5 minutes walk. Location wise.
During check in, the rooms in which i booked is occupied. I wonder why and the receptiom said the previous tenant extended their stay. But i already made my booking like a week before. Unacceptable. And they offered me a family rooom for rm200 without breakfast. Rm5 will be charged for brekfast per person. So total my stay is rm225. Thank god they dont have govenment tax and service charge.
I went to the room without much complain as my brother is extrwmely excited about the beach. The room is very very basic. 1queen bed, 2 single bed. Cleanliness need improvement, spider webs, dirty sinks, torn bedsheet, dirty towels. It might also need refurbishment. Even a budget hotel need to have standart as they provide places for ppl to rest after a very fun day outside.
I dont know if the refrigerator can be used. Its old, and have towels inside to absorb leaking.
Clearly the housekeeping didnot swept under the bed. When we rearrange the bed, candies wraps, plastic, dust, sands can be found. We borrow brooms from the reception and clean the room ourselves. No place to hang towels, very basic needs for me. Got 14inch tv where for me they can just remove it. No use.
At night, karaoke from nearby hotel is a bit uncomfortable. Noisy, bad singer i can tell. Haha. It will last up to 12midnight. Be ready.
The very next morning, breakfast buffet is very limited. There is just plain fried rice, some pancakes, sausage, bread. Thats it. They should have made it ala carte than buffet. People expect buffet would be more variable.
Then my parents decide not to stay here anymore and we moved to pangkor island resort.
This is actually a matured review in which asked by the owner. Ive been to lots of budget hotel, from penisular malaysia to borneo and even the worst place in indon. But at least i just paid rm20-50 for a very basic accomodation. I did not expect ombak inn to be like all ytl hotels in which i have stayed like the new majestic kl. But it is just bad i have to put it on tripadvisor and they dont even apologized instead ask me to visit other budget hotel and be matured. Bad. Very bad.
If you are foreigner as in europeans, stay here. They will treat you like kings. But if you are locals, then you are just locals. My parents they dont bother because they dont travel much. But me, im quite a traveller. So i know.

I rated this property as "one" because there was no option to rate it as "zero". We stayed there on 27th Feb, 2016 (1 night) and paid RM 180/- through Expedia.com.my. The air conditioner in Room No. 20 did not work at all. At night, around 11 PM, the owner provided us a small table fan. The owner refused to give us any refund as the booking was done through Expedia. The owner, Mr. Razak, even lied to Expedia saying that the air conditioner was rectified within one hour!! Mr. Razak even told me that I could tell the "whole world about it and he did not care". Never expected such rude behaviour from a person in hospitality industry during my vacation!

There were five of us. Me, my parents and my two little brother. I booked one week earlier for premium room. It cost only rm150. I pay in advance through online banking. When the day arrive, the room is not available. She give a replacement, a family room for rm200. Suddently i need to pay more. Im still tryimg to convince myself this going to be good. I went to the room. Its in a very bad shape. Torn bedsheet, rusty bed, smell damp. Broken tap, dirty floor. I even find condom plastic under the bed. I borrow brooms from the reception to sweep the floor myself. Terrible stay. Its a budget hotel, it should cost rm100 only. Not more. I can stay at fourpoint by sheraton at the cost of 200.

Response from Razak N, Owner at OYO 44084 Ombak Inn Chalet
Responded 17 Dec 2012
Thank you for your respnse at Ombakinn Chalet recently. As budget place we try keeping our product and services at the most best that we can for the past years and have been fully appreciated and valued by our customers. We only used standard divan and mattress to avoid rust. We practised standard cleanliness and will take your comments to further improved our place. Your future visit to budget hotels would make your comment to be matured.

+1
I'm on budget holiday. So I look for budget accomodation.
I'm with my wife and 4 small kids.I decided to choose Ombak Inn, after I read good review from this tripadvisor web.
I call straight to the owner and booked 1 family room.
Upon to check in, on the promised date, when the owner, saw all my family member, she immediately suggested that we take double room with attached door at the same price as 1 family room. Wow, I feel good, with the warm welcome. Yes. true, like the others said, the owner is very friendly and nice. I really experience it.
So we got room no 3 and room no. 4. Upon entering the unit , both of them are very clean and tidy. Room no.3 have aircon, 1 small tv, and the window facing the sun rise. But no hot shower facility. The window has mosquito net. The bed , 1 queen size bed. Meanwhile room no 4, have air con, 2 single bed, 1 small tv, 1 mini frige, hot shower facility in the bath room. The window have mosquito net, and facing the reception place, (But not much noise, can be heard, day or night time)
Size of both room, pretty small. But we all small size bodies, so is ok for us.
Both of the bathrooms are small. May be for big body person feel very uncomfortable.
The atmosphere around the resort very relax , calm, tranquil and comforting.. At night , we can sleep soundly.
The other best thing are, the resort really not far from Teluk Nipah beach, and mini market which sell many of our need.
About the food, yes this resort serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, upon request. The breakfast mostly western type. I didn't request, and regret about it, because the food the sold at the outside food stall not really up to our taste, and not worth the money you spend.
Well this budget resort, the facility is at basic, but we still experience the comfort holiday!

We have stayed at the Ka Ka's Ombak Inn many tines now and it seems to be growing in popularity. We often take the short trip to Lumut and then really short ferry over to Pangkor from KL.
The rooms are all adequate for any needs. All very similar and quite comfortable with small bathrooms, fridge and TV. Breakfast is a simple mix of Fruit, juice, toast, eggs, Mee Hoon and chicken sausage, but good for the price. The whole place is surrounded by pretty Bougainvillaea and very quiet even though it's very close to the main road. Easy reach of Coral bay and all beach restaurants and shops on Nipah Bay.
