About
Description
Our ' Heritage Stay' is a restored Chinese family house, lovingly brought back to its original status as a HOME. The house dates back to 1908, and has retained the original doors and window frames. When the More renovation started it was just a shell, with no water, electricity or floorboards on the first floor. It has a fantastic location on the famous Concubine Lane, and is close to all the famous food courts, wall paintings, museums and heritage buildings. We are only fifteen minutes walk from Ipoh railway station. The house is full of antiques for the guests to enjoy, and provides a warm and friendly home feeling, rather than your normal hotel atmosphere. If you enjoy antiques, heritage and how things were, then you will enjoy your stay with us in Ipoh old town. Stephanie is a Malaysian Chinese, who was born in Ipoh. She enjoys collecting and displaying antiques, of which there are many throughout the house. She has a great deal of local knowledge, so helps our guests to book trips to local and distant places of interest. John is English, and lived in North West England between Liverpool and Manchester. He is a professional Mechanical Engineer, and worked for many years in the automotive and aerospace industries. Unlike normal hotels, Stephanie and John provide a warm and friendly home atmosphere for the guests to enjoy during their stay in Ipoh. Ipoh lies in the Kinta Valley and is surrounded by limestone hills. It's the capital city of Perak State and is the third largest city in Malaysia. Ipoh gained its fame and wealth through tin mining, which started in the 1800's and finally finished in the 1970's. There are many places of interest in the surrounding areas of Ipoh, but none better than the old town itself. Our house is superbly situated on the famous Concubine Lane in the historic heritage quarter of Ipoh old town. The house provides easy access to the famous local food, historic sites and Ipoh train station. Less

There are several but limited parking spots along the street but you need to get a daily coupon to park your car. I'd suggest once you find a parking spot, leave your car and Grab your way around.
