The pictures of the pool cheating it is small with 8 bricks and about 12 chairs around the small pool. The hotel has about 250 rooms (can accommodate over 500 guests) and all guests can use the pool. It is used by the children's families so there is a high sound level and many plasks. Also does not seem very clean
When you book a beach hotel, you expect to be able to stay on beaches. There is also, but it costs 50,- Ringit for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella per day. It is almost impossible to find shadow on the beach.
If we come to Langkawi again we will book a better hotel which may cost more but where there is pool space shade and bricks
The room is really nice and the breakfast is ok

I stayed for 4 days and 3 nights. They had clean day-to-day info. Room was clean but other amenities like not top up mineral water completely, my room was booked for family room. Only 2 bottles of water changed for new. i paid for 4 days, i paid the same price for one day stay so facilities need to be available just like one day stay. i'm not happy. please provide the full facilities. For your information,I still have 2 more day here till 16 feb.Tq!

I stayed 3 nights at this hotel. Very slow check-in but fast check-out. Room is very spacious and simple. Excellent location in Cehang Street where all restaurants, shops, stalls, travel shops are few steps far. Breakfast is good, staff is friendly. Nice view to the beach and the pool. Heavy rains last night and water accumulated in front of our room. Had to jump to avoid getting wet.

We stayed here intending to chill out for a few days. After reading previous reviews my expectations were low. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. The room we had was massive, and had a balcony overlooking the ocean beachside. We did upgrade and had a premiere executive room, but at £60 per night, this was value for money. The bed was very comfortable, bottled water was supplied daily, along with coffee and tea sachets.

The hotel is a 2 star hotel, so amenities are lacking. Eg. No sunbeds only chairs by the pool, sunbeds are chargeable on the beach but at 20rm per day, it’s not too bad. And worth it. The Oceanside cafe only opens at 1pm. But there are plenty of places to eat and drink locally.

All in all I would recommend this hotel, if the amenities were better, it could easily be a 4 star hotel .

It is a shame as the hotel as potential but bit maintained to a basic standard.
On arrival we were told the pool Was being shut due to it being ‘dangerous’. ( not told before or warned in the booking app).
There was rubble from building work, stains, rust, door decay and even mould.
We were offered an alternative room at a sister hotel 5min away but the standard was the same. The pool was also packed with children and only small:
The staff were ok but the receptionist we spoke to was not helpful and the manager did explain the pool Situation but it all seemed like excuses for lack of communication and maintenance.

One iron and ironing board per floor for anyone to use. Left in the corridor so you can’t take them to your room.
No hair dryer and not enough cups or water left in the family room.
Shower / bathroom really needed some attention.
Breakfast is ok, clean simple and fresh.
Also pls note that there are no beach loungers etc even though it states some are available. You actually pay for rental.

Baron group of owned buildings seems to need investment to improve them as their location is great. Right on the beach front and variety of food options all around.

My wife and I spent 8 days in this hotel. Based on the reviews, we didn’t expect anything decent. Therefore, we were pleasantly surprised by the large room, good furniture, and wonderful sea view. In our opinion, this is not a two-room apartment, but a solid three stars. The location is excellent - a wide clean beach on one side, a shopping street on the other. The cleaning was normal, there were no complaints about the linen. The bathroom is large, comfortable, this is not Europe. We didn't have food, but there is an open restaurant on the ground floor that is always open. Breakfast can be ordered. Well, about the main thing, about the Sea, which is 100 meters away and for which, in fact, they go to Langkawi. The bay is surrounded by islands, so there are no waves at all, there are few vacationers, and motorcycles do not bother you. The sand is tiny and white, like powder. We were very pleased, we recommend it.

Very poorly maintained, carpet is wet, room, bed, pillow all smell horrible. Cleanliness sucks. Toilet is even worse, got fruit flies and very dirty. Curtains not intact and spider web everywhere. Don't think they will sanitize properly to prevent covid.

First and foremost, reception should relocate within the building where the rooms are. It is a hassle to if your room is at 4th Floor. Room are spacious for solo guest. When I check-in, the room was not clean and bedding are dirty. The room is dusty as well. I have to clean the table before I put everything on it. The toilet is like never been scrub before as the toilet bowl is yellowish.. disgusting of course. Surprisingly, there are housekeeping on duty and I suppose they (housekeeping) can't be bothered to keep the room clean. The worse is the water pressure is pretty low. And please, inform guests to wear swim wear!

We stayed at Malibest in January 2018 and chose it again for Christmas 2019. The location is fabulous, right on the beach at Pantai Cenang. Only about 15 minutes drive from the airport. Right on the main street so shops, restaurants, money changers and ATM's are everywhere. Taxi's are easy to get and all are metered so you know what you are paying. There are loungers on the beach that you pay a small fee for as well as water sports and a lovely swimming beach. There is a pool at Malibest but we preferred the beach. If you walk along the beach there are also lots of bars and restaurants which make for a fantastic dinner overlooking the bay. Malibest is still under construction, with a new part being built. The reception is new from our last visit and a big improvement on the shed before. The rooms are basic but they are clean and the beds are confortable. For a family of 4 with teenagers, the room was not crowded. There are no meals available from Malibest yet but plenty to chose from around the hotel. We will definitely go back to see what it is like with the new part finished.

I booked Malibest Resort for 4 days and I can say that my stay there was unpleasant. First, the reception area and the rooms were in two different places but that was acceptable as I have been to several hotel that work like this. But this kind of placement of area was inconvenience for my old mother as it requires her to move from here to there. Btw, the reception area was located at the ground floor of building that was in the midst of construction and as someone who was in construction field I know that this is prohibited as it can possess injury or fatalities to the passerby. Second, the button for the lift at Level 3 needs to be pushed several times before it responds. It might be hard for my mother because she needs to push the button several times before it responds. Third, the condition of the room looks quite old as it has been constructed around ‘80s maybe? They used carpet as the floor material and it smells bad like they never clean it before. The inside of the toilet bowl is dirty, I just thought that maybe its a stuborn scrub that does not wash off. Hence, I turn a blind eye and I did not make any complaint instead to the management. But then on the next morning, the toilet smells really bad like fishy blood smell that I immediately alert the management to come clean the bathroom and to my suprise, the toilet bowl has been cleaned as well thus it shows that they never even bother to clean it before (I really wish I can attach photos here). I also did asked some of the male staff in green clothes for parking, but before I could finished off my question, they just went away so I have to ask the 7-11 workers and they are really helpful compare to Malibest’s staff! Fyi, the searching for parking here is hard. I spent 20 minutes walking from the public parking to the hotel. I suggest any travellers that read this review to find any other hotels at Cenang Beach that worth your money because this hotel doesnt even worth a penny.
