We booked a deluxe room with a sea view for 5 nights at the end of an extended tour of South East Asia. When we arrived we were given an upgrade to a super-deluxe room which, in all honesty, is one of the nicest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. An enormous, super-comfortable bed with the softest, smoothest sheets and plumpest pillows. A huge bathroom with two sinks, a large circular bath, a shower/wet-room and a toilet with a variety of water jets! And a two level balcony with a sofa, tables and an amazing view. Absolutely wonderful! Breakfast (despite other comments in other reviews) was a calm experience with something for everyone. There are several stations cooking to order (omelettes, eggs, waffles, pancakes, Asian breads etc) and also buffet stations where you can help yourself to the ingredients for a traditional English breakfast, or smoked salmon and European cheeses. There are pastries, toast, cereals, fruit and yoghurt. Or a selection of curries, rice and noodles or even a pho style soups. We ate lunch at the hotel once and had a couple of evening meals here and everything was delicious and couldn’t be faulted.
The pools and grounds were beautiful with views over the sea and beach. This place is heavenly.
So why only 4 stars?
For a hotel of this size there were 20 sunbeds around the main pool. And a further 14 on the beach. There were also a further 16(ish) deck chairs. There are no sunbeds around the sky deck pool, just a dozen deck chairs. There are a lot of disappointed guests looking for somewhere to relax. It’s not as if there isn’t room for more - so please, management, if you read this, do something about it. Your hotel has the potential to be faultless. Sort this issue out and train your staff a little better and you will be the best hotel on the island!

We holidayed in Malaysia from January 3rd to January 12th, 2025. We spent 3 nights at the city hotel 4* in Kuala Lumpur and 6 nights at the Park Royal in Langkawi.
Park Royal is captivated by its level.
We had a Premier Ocean View room on the 10th floor overlooking the sea. Fresh, I would say new, renovation; magnificent furnishings (there was even a scale); a huge terrace and the room itself huge in area; a unique bathroom with two sliding glass walls, a round bath, 2 sinks and quality care products.
The property is not large, but has a huge swimming pool on the 1st floor and a swimming pool for adults (from the age of 18) on the 5th floor. We were constantly lying on the first, to being with the baby and alternating it with swimming in the sea.
I liked the fitness center - although not very diverse, but all the basic things are there, the exercise machines are all in good condition (paths and ellipses are not slugged and without slips).
An important aspect of any hotel is service. He's on top of it. There were 2 unpleasant situations that the hotel solved on a solid A. It is evident that staff are trying to help and solve the problem sincerely, not formally.
I'll write about food separately. They took the HB format (breakfast/dinner). At the hotel, this format has specific features: breakfast - buffet; dinner - menu (3 courses - appetizer/soup; second/same main course and dessert). For us, the dinner story was unexpected, because by the tour the operator did not inform. But then they found the positive part - don't overeat). In the last 2 evenings the hotel made a royal gift - dinner on the sandy shore with emphasis on seafood. This is where we didn't hold back: lobster, shrimp, lobster, roast ray, jellyfish salad and salted watermelon, lots of Asian deliciousness - just a belly feast.
The sea by the hotel is clear, the entrance is gentle, the sand is yellow and the composition is closer to Thailand than to the Maldives. We swam in the sea, but in the last 2 days we noticed a sufficient number of jellyfish on the shore and by the hotel put a sign "danger, do not swim". I don't know if it's seasonal or because of the currents, but we didn't feel the bites and this restriction didn't interfere.
In conclusion, the feeling of the trip to Malaysia and the main emotions were caused by walking through authentic Kuala Lumpur and the Park Royal Hotel.
Boldly recommend this hotel if you want guaranteed service in a new location.

So we arrived Tuesday at 3PM, the check in process took some time as they seem to be somewhat understaffed. After waiting in line to get check in we find out that our room is not ready after a long days journey. They did serve us a complimentary lunch that was good. After an hour of waiting I asked for an update and I was told 20 mins more to wait. My wife was extremely upset and asked for the manager Bernard Sebastian and we finally got to our room. Mr Sebastian escorted us up to our room. Now the 2 room Ocean View Suite was out standing!!!! I will post pics later. After getting settled in we changed and ventured down to the pool. We inquired where we could get pool towels and they said they would bring them to us. 30mins later no beach towels so off my wife went again to talk to management. Note most people around the pool seem to not have towels and were waiting. They eventually brought out bags of towels for everyone. Aizuddin was very helpful in making sure we got our towels and was very apologetic. One couple beside us was trying to order food for their child and they were directed to use the QR code on the table. The problem was that they do not have the kids menu listed on the menu attached to that QR code. We ordered room service last night and it was brought up on a very timely manner. The food was good and the kids really enjoyed the spaghetti bolognese. The only negative is that they were suppose to pick up the cart with the dishes from room service and as of 12Noon the next day they were still outside our door. I had to call to have it removed. Checking into breakfast this morning is very rudimentary as one lady has a paper with every room on it and she has to mark off your room upon entering. Some people have to pay for breakfast others it’s included in your room package and the verification really slows down the process. This should be automated asap. We have two more days to go so I will update this review once we have finished the entire stay. We hope that things improve over the next couple of days. The property is new and very very pretty and very clean! We found this resort because we stayed at a sister property Niyama in the Maldives and the service there was world class.

The playroom is a standout feature, well-organized and maintained by the super-friendly staff, Shidah. It offers plenty of activities like board games, ping pong, kicker, Nintendo, and PlayStation, keeping both kids and adults entertained. The buffet breakfast had an extensive selection, catering to all tastes. The family room was huge and very comfortable, with the kids' area decorated like a charming mini safari. Convenient location: great eateries just 5 minutes away, and easy to explore with a rental car. Adults-only infinity pool was a wonderful bonus for relaxation. Cons:

Our group of 7 people stayed at Parkroyal Langkawi from 7 to 11 February 2025, and overall, it was a pleasant stay with a few hiccups in service that could have been handled better.
Pros: ✅ Check-in was smooth – no delays or issues. ✅ We had three rooms, including a suite on the 10th floor – all beautifully presented, spacious, and clean. Each room had a large balcony with comfortable seating, perfect for relaxation. ✅ The property is quite new, which adds to the fresh and modern feel. ✅ Location is unbeatable – within walking distance to Chenang Beach, the most vibrant area in Langkawi. The hotel also has magnificent sunset views, especially from the sea-facing rooms and its close proximity to the well-known Hidden Bar.
Cons & Areas for Improvement: ❌ Breakfast Service on Day 2 – The hotel was busy due to Chinese New Year holidays, which we understand. However, one of the staff at the door, Nor, was unnecessarily rude, and another staff member (name tag not visible) simply walked away when we asked for a table that could accommodate all seven of us. ✅ Manager Zulfan handled the situation well, ensuring our request was met and even sent a bottle of wine to our room as a goodwill gesture.
❌ Room Maintenance Issues – One room had a bathroom light that wouldn’t turn off, and although maintenance was called, they couldn’t fix it that night. It was resolved the next day. ❌ Suite Room Light Issues – On the third night, the lights in our suite kept going off multiple times (3-4 times). Maintenance was unable to fix it that night, but the issue seemed to have resolved itself by the following day.
❌ Housekeeping Could Be More Attentive – A few drops of red wine were spilled, and despite daily housekeeping, it was not cleaned until we complained.
✅ Great Service Recovery from Front Office Manager – Nur Zeela compensated us with a lovely high tea experience, and Sous Chef Arivanandhan did a splendid job. He even came out personally to check on us, which was highly appreciated!
Other Notable Mentions: ✅ Bell boys were outstanding – always cheerful and helpful. ❌ Other staff were just doing their job – pleasant but not particularly engaging, except for those mentioned.

1 - Check in was a mess, my sister booked from Trip.com hotel said they could not find the bookings, and they blamed 3rd party agent, my own room were booked from MH holidays, i booked for 1 pax room with king bed, hotel said we did not request for the type of room and blame MHholiday for the mistakes, hence they reserved me a twin room for 1 pax booking. We were told that if we booked through 3rd party its going to be like that?? Excuse me if you state this in your webpage then i will consider booking direct next time and if you cant handle agent booking then why let them sell the room on behalf? We came to attend for the wedding event, later on i found out from my other friend that they also requested for a king bed but were given twin, and hotel blamed the host, please take note that they booked direct! Apart from blaming others i not sure what your hotel capable of?
2 - Room did not have lotion and conditioner, i called reception to request for 1lotion and 1 conditioner, they said no problem will send it to me right away, waited the whole night till next morning and no sign of lotion and conditioner, called reception again they said sure will send it to me now, finally someone knock on the door to deliver them, but to my surprise they sent me 2 lotion no conditioner, had to call reception again, and was told there is no conditioner. My question is why didn't you inform me last night when i first called in? and i call again the next day your reception still said ok! Hotel employees is messed up, no basic knowledge, information given was wrong
3 - That morning itself, i requested housekeeping, when out for breakfast came back at 12 its not done, called to reception and asked if they can arrange housekeeping earlier they said no problem, so i went out to let them clean and come back at 3pm, surprise its still not clean, had to call reception again, told them that i am really in a rush because we need to prepare for the wedding that is why we requested early housekeeping. I do not want half way we were preparing and only your housekeeping come, to be honest this is the first hotel that i stayed where till 3pm the room is still not clean.

A fantastic beachfront location overlooking magnificent nature! The facilities were well thought out, and the interior was stylish and comfortable. The staff at check-in were very kind and I was impressed. There were games and table tennis for the kids to enjoy, and a diving competition in the pool, so it was fun for the whole family. The quality of the spa was high, and the therapists were very skilled. A 1.5-hour course of scrub and body massage cost MR350. It left my whole body shiny, perfect after playing in the sea!

The checking in process for Park Royal Langkawi was very smooth and we were each given a waterproof wrist tag to open doors to our rooms. The lobby area was very nicely decorated with lots of water features and potted plants. The corridor to our room was very wide and well lit. Our room was large with a very modern shower and toilet. The bed was excellent with firm mattress and pillows and are obviously very clean. The temperature control for the room was very easy to adjust and I could set the temperature that I preferred. The morning breakfast down in the restaurant was very pleasant and we could sit in an area with water feature around us. The choice of breakfast spread was very extensive and we could choose Western, Chinese and local cuisine. Overall, we had a very good stay in Park Royal, Langkawi. It's a 5-star rating from me.

Yes they had sun loungers dotted around the pool and on the beach. If I recall correctly they were metal frame and canvas type material in the seat which reclined all the way back to lie on. I just threw a towel over it and was good to go :)
