We stayed at Colinial House 2 - an apartment with ensuite washroom and a wooden bathtube in the courtyard. You feel in every detail the owner wanted to preserve the look and feel of an old house - and it is a success: Old style furniture, wooden windows, old tiles - all interior details show history, but they don't feel...

Temple Tree at Bon Ton is a beautiful and tranquil place to chill out by the pool overlooking the lagoon. The food is very good and we ate there most nights. The breakfast is fruit/cakes/bread, which is placed in your fridge daily. The rooms are really cool Malay buildings that have been transplanted onto the site from around Malaysia. The...

We stayed here for 5 nights. Lovely, tranquil spot. Rooms beautiful, old restored colonial and workers houses . Not too far from the main town. Breakfast could do with improvement. Like the idea of in your own time but bread stale and fruit not fresh. Overall great experience not to be missed.

The Temple Tree is not your typical resort. I went thinking I knew what I was getting myself into, but I was in for a surprise still. I stayed at the Black & White house, a spacious and well appointed Malay house .. The bits I love: 1) This place is unique - the rooms / suites are all heritage...

I decided an impromptu solo trip for 2 days 1 night at Temple Tree Langkawi due to some advertisement on a website. It proves to be true to the words of the advertisement. I stayed at Estate 1 which is a building rebuilt & restored at temple tree. It looks like an ordinary estate plantation house at the outlook, but...

If you are looking for an alternative to the ubiquitous chrome and glass multi storey hotel buildings the Temple Tree Resort in Langkawi could be just your cup of tea. Rebuilt and restored plantation workers and owners housing from the '40s is what you will find with a range of styles reflecting the local buildings as well as some Chinese-influenced...

Lovely place to stay for couple of nights - we booked late and got a great deal and were very lucky with our room. The lay out of all of the old houses is lovely and the furnishing interesting and unique. No beach on site but pool area is comfortable and relaxing. Cats are everywhere (be careful not to lock...

Lovely accommodation, quiet & peaceful. About 15min walk to town, best to get taxi. Not at the beach but the pool is peaceful. one pool had been turned into a pond i think? Didn't mind the cats but not too impressed when they cleaned up cat pee (after we accidentally locked one in for a few hours) with a towel....

Like staying at a museum, if you love authentic travel then this is the place for you. Temple Tree and Bon Ton is a stunning collection of Malaysian heritage villas. The interiors are elegant yet contemporary and authentic. Loved how they blended the Chinese, Malay, Indian and Eurasian styles. The food at The Straits collection was pretty good, had the...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for four nights in April 2013- it was amazing and the highlight of our travelling holiday!! We love cats and dogs- and Bon Ton was full of them so we volunteered to walk the dogs (who are all rescued and looked after very well!) and they gave us free drinks! The food was amazing,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Though classified as B&B/Inn, Temple Tree is actually more of a boutique resort of many cultures, an eclectic mix of heritage chic...Antique buildings of Chinese, Malay, Indian and Eurasian origin, make up this 8 villa hotel, with 8 rooms & 6 suites now open. Each building has, over its 70-110 year old history, created its own heart and soul. Hopefully we have given due respect to each of these family homes with the restoration process. These houses are now the continuing the story of people who live in them, our guests. ... more   less
