My wife and I stayed 3 nights, arriving at midnight with a taxi($14) from JHB airport. There is a 7th floor parking garage entrance and one at the ground lever, both requiring an elevator to the 8th floor hotel reception. Here, a welcoming receptionist processed our payment, then presented the key cards and we took one of the 3 elevators to the 25th floor. Room #2531 was carpeted, clean with a very comfortable king, table, couch, closet bar, small refrigerator, coffee maker and large TV with an easy guide(BBC, Bloomberg, Sports and 15 local channels). There was a fully outfitted bathroom with a tile shower, good secure wifi/lighting, ample outlets and central AC. We could spot the 2017 915’ twin Astoka Apartments through our large window. We did not use the Infinity pool/gym on the 32nd floor. The 6-10AM breakfast was excellent and attentively serviced: juices, muesli, yogurt, made to order eggs/omelet, baked beans, many breads, large Asian selections and coffees. Overall, excellent choice for location, a quiet night’s sleep and friendly staff.

Finally decided to book 1 night stay at this Hotel after many trips to JB. It was a good choice!
Check-in was swift and the staff allowed me to check in early without charge. Got a room on the 28th floor. When I opened the door, I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and also the size of the room! The room was spacious, cozy and the aircon was great!
The Hotel is located next to City Square connected to JBCC Komtar. In terms of food and shopping, it is in a great location! Also, it's next to the CIQ!
Breakfast spread was OK, sufficient for a hearty breakfast.
Am glad that I finally stayed here and definitely looking forward to staying here again, when the price is right!

Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Center has become a popular hotel with Singaporeans and tourists alike, as it is situated in a centralized location with two huge shopping malls, Komtar Shopping Mall and City Square, within the vicinity, so there are lots of restaurants and shops for retail therapy.
Reception is on the 8th floor via access from the ground floor lifts PL1 and PL2. These lifts do not serve the guest room floors so we have to head over to level 8 to take either lifts PL3, PL4 or PL5 to the guest rooms.
Fahana checked us in efficiently and our room is spacious, modern and tastefully decorated, overlooking the Johor straits and the northern region of Singapore. As it was our wedding anniversary, our bed was decorated with towel swans and rose petals and to add a personal touch, a card from Ibrahim and Amou. When we came back to the room that night, we were pleasantly surprised to see a plate of strawberry sliced cakes, in celebration of our wedding anniversary. It was a very sweet and thoughtful gesture from the hotel staff.
There are 2 types of pillows – firm and soft, Daikin aircon unit so it is very comfortable for sleeping. I am glad that I get to choose the pillow texture as I am a very light sleeper.
The gym, infinity swimming pool (1.5 m), jaccuzi (1 m), 2 cabanas and a few deckchairs are on the 32nd floor. There is no children’s pool so on the 2nd morning while we were there, the pool was crowded with families and young children, and we could hardly swim.
Breakfast has a good variety with live eggs station, noodles station, Teh Tarik station, coffee machines that serve cappuccino, americano and latte. To place the eggs order, we have to present the green chit on our table, indicate table number, tick our request for either fried egg, poached egg or omelette and state the quantity, to the chefs at the eggs station and the eggs will be served to our table when they are ready. Besides a good selection of pastries of croissant, apple lattice puff, chocolate bun, there is a small selection for gluten-free muffin and bread. There is even a kid’s corner where chocolate muffins, potato wedges and assorted doughnuts are served, much to the delight of little kids. There is also a salad bar, different types of cereals, porridge, nasi lemak and a platter of fresh fruits.
We would recommend Holiday Inn as a reliable hotel with impeccable service, cleanliness and good food or simply just chilling. We would love to be back to Holiday Inn JBCC again as we had a wonderful break there.

Having just completed a quick 24 hrs stay in this property at their King suite, here are some of my thoughts. Location Stay here if proximity to the CIQ and surrounds for food is important. Many F&B outlets featured on various social media platforms are within an easy 10 to 15 mins walk. Komtar and jbcc is also a stroll away. Crew Staff are polite and well trained. Kudos to Indiri from the cafe at level 8 and our housekeeper, Kamijah. You ladies are a credit to this property and I hope that management recognises your positive contributions to this hotel. Hotel Love the 24|7 access to the gym especially early risers like myself who likes to begin the day at 5am. Things that are unique which requires adjusting for me Front desk is on level 8. Guest are required to access the first set of lifts from ground level to reception and another trio of 3 lifts for floors 9 to 32. Do allocate lots of time during rush hours. The cozy size of the lifts can accommodate 4 to 5 adults with cabin size luggages comfortably, other configurations will usually result in an interesting squeeze. Although my king suite on floor 29 came with all the advertised fixtures, I cannot see myself returning in the immediate future. Unsure if this is due to this being my 4th of 5 hotels for this trip, the thin walls allowing one to hear conversations from the neighbour next door, inconsistent wifi speeds, the fixed position of the flat screen which only allowed for a minimum tilt and not the ability to swivel or attach external streaming devices. Although screen casting is possible, my preference to stream my own choice of media is important if residing for a couple of days. This property suits guest who values location, convenience and happy to crash on a firm bed after a day out.

The room is huge and reasonably clean, the view is amazing! The bed is comfortable but the pillows are too soft - our neck aching every morning. Housekeeping needs to improve: Our box of tissue paper was not refilled, the bathroom was not thoroughly cleaned - strands of hair were left on the floor after housekeeping. We like the 24h gym where we could catch up on our workouts after returning to the hotel late at night. However, the outdoor pool water is very cold even on a hot day, wondering if ice water is pumped into the pool? The breakfast is good with many choices and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Overall, it's an enjoyable stay, especially enjoyed its convenient location - the hotel is linked to CIQ, Komtar and City Square, easy access to all the eateries and shop, need not worry even if it's raining heavily.

A beautiful and modern hotel with very welcoming and hospitable staff. Very happy to see that Vincent is now the Front Office Manager at Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Centre. Vincent is one of the best I have ever met in my many hotel stays, with his caring, friendly and attentive nature. He is truly earnest and always does his best to see where he can make enhancements to elevate guests' stay experiences. Vincent is the key reason why I kept supporting the previous hotel he was at, and I very glad he is now at Holiday Inn JBCC.
Chris Lim and Ashraf are great too! Thank you for remembering me from previous stays and always being so friendly and helpful!
The hotel's beautiful views, comfortable bed and spacious room continue to pamper. Please do not miss the rooftop swimming pool and gym too - they offer spectacular views and are impressive! The location of the hotel is simply unbeatable, right in the midst of two shopping malls, with public and private transport readily available.
The breakfast menu has also been refreshed. Indri at breakfast is very attentive, polite and service-oriented. Even though she is new to the hotel, her excellent service is highly notable.

I came here for a 4D3N business trip and so far, it had been an awesome experience for me. The staffs are very courteous and always ready to help out with cheerful attitudes and ready smiles - from the receptions, bell boys and even the guards too. The pillows are the fluffiest and most comfortable that I ever had in my stay here. The housekeeping team really outdone themselves in making sure the room is cleaned thoroughly and essential stuffs are replenish daily. As for the F&B, the wide range of dishes offered in their restaurant are truly delightful and pleasing to my eyes and tastebuds. Plus, they have gym and swimming pool should you feel the need to exercise and/or relax. Overall, I truly recommend everyone to stay and experience it all for themselves. Trust me, you would not regret it!

We received the key to our room only around 5pm, and immediately noticed that the pillowcases had not been changed as they smelled of hair oil. On the second day of our stay, I requested housekeeping at 7am, but when I returned at 3pm, the room was still uncleaned. Feedback to the front desk was useless, so I had to borrow a vacuum cleaner from the housekeeping staff at the end of the corridor. This was the first time I've had to vacuum my own hotel room and take clean towels and toilet paper from the housekeeping staff.

At arrival, greeted and checked-in by two helpful staff members Putera and Shamsul. The gentlemen helped us relocate to another room when our first was not satisfactory due to a lingering smoke odour. The new room was generous and views were lovely.
Used the gym and pool.. both were in very good condition. Being a regular here, I’m glad to see an upgrade of the gym machines and free weights. Gone are the remarry broken ones, in with the new-ish and working ones. The Pool attendant was very kind and inconspicuous. I felt safe swimming alone in the noon day sun as he was around. A courteous gentlemen he was, coming from Bandung Indonesia. Needless to say his level of service was very good!
One area of improvement would have been room service. Greater care could be given to ensure that all coffee pods were refilled and the raw sugar sachets have been replenished. General cleaning was excellent.. so this fact remains : it’s often the smaller details that make one truly feel at home and welcomed!
Thank you IHG! You’ve given me another short respite! Keep up the good work! We shall return despite the hike in all hospitality establishment from March 1.. we will be back !!

This was our second time staying at Holiday Inn JB. The location is unbeatable being one pedestrian bridge away from JB Sentral and the CIQ checkpoint to Singapore. The malls Komtar is just downstairs while City Square is next block.
The suite was spacious with lots of space for kids to run around. The room came with a bathtub which is a rarity nowadays. However the room could get hot if the curtains are not closed. The breakfast had a good spread, just it could get crowded as the morning goes (the usual queue at the omelette station). The roads to and from the hotel are always congested, so do cater some time when travelling. The lifts are also always busy.
Otherwise, I would return for my next family trip to Johor Bahru.
