The journey up the mountain to the hotel was as spectacular as the hotel itself. It is perfectly situated for a panoramic view across the whole of Malawi and the staff were friendliness itself. The food is a little basic, but well cooked and tasty.

As hotels go this is beautifully situated on the edge of the Zomba plateau. There are well-kept gardens from which fine views are afforded. The double room was spacious, clean and as you would expect of any normal western hotel - very little African charm was evident. The breakfast was excellent - a wide-ranging buffet of well-prepared food including cereals,...

I was lucky enough to stay here for one night on a recent trip to Malawi - having stayed here a few years ago. When I arrived and walked into my room, the sun was setting over Zomba. Absolutely spectacular. Worth having something warm with you as the hotel is up the hill and can be quite chilly! Initial wifi...

The views and the gardens are magnificent and romantic. The main building have this beautiful thick wall reminding one of a castle. The rooms are ok and the food quite good. Great hikes in the area. However be careful if you are only one couple. There are criminals on the mountain that attack single people and couples. Rather go in...

A beautiful place to stay on the Zomba Plateau. Our room was large as was the bathroom and the very comfortable beds. There was always hot water for showers and in the basin. We had a patio with sun loungers and the gardens were very good for bird watching. The breakfast buffet was vast and delicious as was the food...

Last visit was 1986....the location is still stunning, but the hotel, though rebuilt, could do with some TLC, especially the bed rooms and bathrooms. Staff were excellent, and the food was v good. We were disappointed (not the hotel's fault) with regard to the terrible state of the roads (virtually impassable) around the plateau which in the old days could...

The prime reason for lodging at this hotel was to attend a wedding function and my wife and I were very pleased with the stay in general. As a wedding venue we cannot fault it. Everything seemed to go smoothly and the food presented for lunch was superb, more so considering the high number of guests present. Apart from the...

Ku Chawe is located in a beautiful place up on Zomba Plateau. The new rooms are great and the Villas exceptional - you get stunning views. Breakfast is delicious and service is very good. A fire in your room is a definite necessity in Winter. Sometimes the shower and bath taps take about 10-15 minutes to heat up when its...

This is a gem for the hotel industry perched at the top of a mountain. Romantic with the best food and comfortable living. It's a planet within malawi with the best view of the city. Absence of gym and swimming pool is justified as it has more to show to visit sorroundings. A water reservoir is nearby and a tourist...

I ate here a while ago. The hotel looked lovely (although I didn't stay), the surroundings were also beautiful and I enjoyed a reasonably priced lunch. The wildlife was also special, especially the tropical birds, but beware the thieving monkeys at lunch :)
