A wild elephant named "Obama" who likes to preside over the property greeted us upon arrival. The elephants get the royal treatment as everyone makes way for them to pass without confrontation. The entire staff team at this splendid camp are authentically cheerful and helpful. The tents are both very comfortable and attractive complete with a deck that looks over the river. Our food was terrific and one of us had a fabulous massage. Can't say enough good things about our 3 night stay. Only wish we could return every year! Samburu Park is gorgeous.
Amazing game reserve, really beautiful lodge, stunning setting, top quality food – and Carmen, the manager was great with the personal touches. But the noisy generator running for many hours each day was very distracting. First time I’ve stayed in a lodge where the generator runs during the day, when everyone is back at camp, and until 11pm at night. Why not install solar? So much for being at peace in nature….
I already knew that the camp was amazing before going there, but I wasn't prepared for as just how much it would exceed my already high expectations. From the welcome by Obama (the elephant) during my arrival during lunch time, to the luxurious and spacious tents built to blend into nature, to the 5 star cuisine, the list goes on and on. The destination is perfect for any season, and the exclusivity of the camp ensures you enjoy maximum serenity. Just one visit is not enough, and I will definitely be back again. A special shoutout to Miss Carmen for maintaining the place in such an exquisite state, which I am sure is no small feat, and to the highly dedicated and always present staff who made me feel welcomed throughout my whole stay.
We had the most wonderful time and the best ever elephant experience in this wonderful camp. The weather was really wonderful when it was really cold at Nairobi and warm and nice at Samburu. Our room was really spacious with king size bed and a plunge pool which would cool us during the afternoon heat. The meals were wonderfully prepared and the dining areas was very amazing and it is the place where a 6 tonner elephant by the name of Onyango joined us for lunch and the distance was just 3 feet away and experience was out of this world. We did mange to see all the big cats and 2 wonderful sundowners and was really unwinding experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable and knew the area very well for game viewing as well as finding beauty spots for viewing landscapes.
This is literally Elephant Bedroom. An execellent camp with no fence, which means that animals come close. We had a great expirence with this Bull "Marati" who really liked the acacia nuts above our tent. The service is excellent, the food is great and the tent really spacious. This is a real safari camp.
