Absolutely georgeous spot on the riverbank. Spacious tents, though a bit on the faded side but tastefully decorated. Restaurant lacks a bit of charm and cuisine could be more original. Wine list disappointing and overpriced considering the market targeted.

Twenty-seven people checked out on the day we arrived, leaving us and one other family as the sole occupants of the 20 tents. On our second night, we were alone. That means that the entire and quite wonderful staff was dedicated to our needs alone, which is to say we were treated like royalty. The food was wonderful. The conversation... More

The comfy and spacious tents ( make sure you zip the tent to keep out those adorable Vervet monkeys🐒) border the Uaso River where we saw large groups of elephants come to drink and cross. The staff adds to the experience with their friendliness and efficiency. Safari drives provide an exciting viewing of abundant wildlife. Our group of photographers went... More

Despite the fact that your room is a tent it is bigger than most flats in London! You can see the river from your bed so if you genuinely stand a chance of seeing elephants fording the river from the comfort of your duvet! The food is brilliant and it is well worth doing one of their Bush meals. We... More

Close your eyes and imagine you are on Safari in the 40's; open your eyes and you are at Larsen's Camp in Samburu National Reserve in Kenya. From the well appointed, large, comfortable "tent" on the banks of the river to the hearty breakfasts and delectable dinners, Larsen's provided the quintessential base camp for game drives. While I was sitting... More

When we walked in our tent I felt like we had been transported back in time and were joining Hemingway's expedition. Hemingway never had it this good! Tents are spacious and well designed, allowing us to feel at home in the bush. Power generators run only during certain hours, they're generally off when guests are out on game runs, and... More

We spent two night here in August 2015, the majority of staff were friendly but I have to say the one guy that manned the reception was dirty, lazy and rude! The tent itself was lovely but the camp clearly needed a lot of repair and was looking pretty run down. The pool was filthy and the filter systems did... More

We spent three nights at Larsen's Tented Camp in January and loved it! We had a lovely tent just above the river where we could watch elephants, giraffes, baboons, and more meandering up and down the river. The beds were comfortable, plenty of hot water, electricity, great food. The wildlife sightings were amazing. Highly recommend!
