The Gem! It's a private serene place with only 7 rooms.Attention obviously is an understatement. Thanks John and the team for making my family evening great and one to remember. Indeed John, Ndovu is a honeymooner room. Asante.

Unique combination of charm, luxury, decadence and intimacy. Decoration is like a museum, garden a paradise on earth ; rooms are very comfortable and clean, and we enjoyed sitting at our own veranda. John and Mombasa made us feel very welcome and helped us out with reservations for snorkling and an excursion to Marafa.

You begin to wonder what kind of expectations people had when you read reviews that say "better than I thought it could be" or "way nicer than I expected"! But this place - wow, just wow! I knew that these kind of places existed, but always thought that they were just way beyond my budget... To be honest, when I...

"The photos don't do this place justice" I said to Giovanna the owner at the bar one night. "Maybe that's good, so people are more impressed when they arrive" was her clever reply. She has thought of everything. We arrived after a long days travel from Nairobi. Weary and tired our tuc tuc bobbled over the entrance gateway. And boom!...

I've been to Malindi many times but only just found African House - I will certainly go back again! Set in beautiful leafy gardens, surrounded by amazing African art and endless Lamu beds, this is a beautiful (and romantic) place to spend a few days. With only 6-7 rooms it means you get loads of individual attention (breakfast and drinks...

I have been to African House twice, and both my stays there were extremely pleasant. The decoration is unique and beautiful, the staff is very friendly, the pool and garden area are nice and clean, and breakfast is good and plenty. The beach is at a short walking distance. I can only recommend it!
