Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

30 minutes to check in. F%%$#cking ridiculous. Making hotel guests wait to check-in suppose to be omotenashi? The website mentioned that the pool was heated. BS!!! The pool was ice cold. I guess most Japanese people do not swim laps. Shigira golf course was a total dogtrack. Do the greenskeeper even cut the grass? The only good part about this resort was restaurants but never stay at this crap again.

The hotel is located roughly 20 minutes of the bus ride from Nara Station (and from the city's centre), close to Kainawa Highway, on the shore of kofun's lake (a Japanese imperial ancient burial keyhole-shape site). The hotel offers superb quality and really great food. I strongly suggest to try their Japanese dinner - nabe - especially mushroom nabe. It's served with sake. We had room with the balcony facing the lake, equipped with private jacuzzi and even bathroom tv :-))). Rooms have high ceilings and are clean with all the amenities.. The staff is extraordinarily friendly and helpful. Thank you guys! To get to the hotel from Nara Station you must take bus 14 from the stop no 15. Bus 14 brings you to the Japanese Military Air Base and from there a short walk (up to 7 minutes) takes you to the hotel. Bus 14 goes both directions every 20 minutes. The ride cost Y330. In Nara you can obtain one day buss-pass for just Y500 (available in the Bus Information Centre at Nara Station) and you can enjoy the rides to all the places to see with all the bus lines. We really enjoyed staying with this hotel. Hosts offered us additionally a free ride to Nara Station on our departure.

We booked the hotel for just one night. It is a longer taxi ride than we thought from the station and in the middle of nowhere so that you find yourself stuck there. We booked a room without specifiying which would means a non smoking room in most other places but not here. We got allocated a smoking room which wasn't specified anywhere would be the standard room. We complained of the smell and asked for another non smoking room but got told they were full. On top of that the Wifi didn't work in the room and the tv had only 7 channels all in Japanese. The view we hoped for on the pictures wasn't there either. All in all, nothing for this place. I won't go again

TA reviews for the Allamanda are varied, this review reflects what we experienced on our stay. OK so the hotel is a short taxi ride from the Kintetsu station costing Y1200, but we knew that at the time of booking. On arrival the staff were helpful and polite, even though they only spoke a little english, with a mix of japanese and english words everything got sorted out. Our rooms were clean and tidy with high ceilings and all the usual hotel items in the room such as kettle, refridgerator, mineral water etc. Some of the furniture looked a little worn especially the bedside tables, but they were by no means unacceptable. We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed what time we spent at the Allamanda. The staff worked very hard to please us although we only slept, ate breakfast and had a few drinks, the rest of our stay was spent sightseeing. The staff apologised every time they thought they had failed us with things like no elevator and waiting for the taxi to arrive. To us these were not issues and certain no fault of the staff in anyway at all. Overall we had a pleasant stay at the Allamanda but it is a little bit too far out of town if you need to walk. Price wise considering the location it is a little expensive - but shop around you may get a better deal than we did. P.S. when we left the staff came outside and waved us goodbye, you won't get that in the larger city hotels for sure - truely a nice touch!
