This place went beyond my expectations. the staff are great, and english speaking, and very pleasant. it's all spotless and well organized, and there is nothing lacking. the rooftop garden is great. i would certainly stay here again. it's only a 5 min. walk from the train station. the only part a bit unappealing is the noise of the expressway...

The people are super nice and friendly. Cleanly kept bathrooms and private (small but clean with air conditioning, fridge and a TV) room for the price of a hostel. There's a roof top space to chill and it's right by Chinatown and close to the station. Definitely recommended for backpackers and travellers on budget.

I arrived to a friendly smile, and was given a detailed run-through of the rules, facilities and layout. I was also made to feel very welcome, being given multiple recommendations from the staff telling me their favourite sights, bars and attractions in Yokohama. The staff were very friendly, and even welcomed me to their dinner party! The front office is...

It was my second stay. A year earlier I explored Yokohama to possibly live there. I made some nice friends and found it easy for trains etc. This time, based in Tokyo, I wanted to explore Hakone, Kamakura (a must see) and Gotemba. It was a busy holiday weekend so the booking gave me ease. I was met with kindness...

The staff eas great and helpful but I'm glad i stayed only one night. Room stunk of cigarette smoke even though non-smoking. The room was clean and ok but the rest was run-down and felt dirty. The hostel is fairly close to Chinatown but it was a depressing area.

I was somewhat astounded by this hostel. Although the cheapest in its neighborhood in Yokohama, I didn't imagine it would be this bad. The room is awfully very small and cramped. The wifi services limited. And the worst is there's only one shower room for an entire floor. Locationwise, its quite good and close to the train station.

I was staying in the YHV for three weeks in the dormitory style room for women. Yes, the room is basically a two-story bed, but the price is 19-22 € a night. The fact that I meet some wonderfull room mates I could share a cool beer and good conversation with in the roof top garden, made up for the...

I am a fan~ The staff could not have been nicer during my stay at YHV. From the time I arrived by car until I left, everyone helped make my visit a happy one. In addition to assistance with parking and luggage, I especially appreciated easy access to laundry, shower, hair dryer, and a nice roof top area. Free wifi....

For anyone dissuaded by the some of the unflattering reviews for this wonderful property, please keep in mind that the "'shockingly tiny" rooms are TWENTY-SEVEN DOLLARS per night (if paid weekly, $30 otherwise). In Tokyo, CAPSULES cost more than that, as do DORM BEDS in all the hostels (living out of a locker). But this is not Tokyo, it's YOKOHAMA,...

I only ever write nice reviews but this place is awful! Do not stay here! The rooms are not even big enough to lay your futon down fully. We booked a twin room an the futons overs lapped the room was so small. There are 20 rooms on a floor with only one shower. So in theory that's up to...
